One day in 1962 (I think) after school, my friends and I walked up to Tyseley station to spot the '4 o'clock King.' Imagine the shock when one of these appeared. Not blue, of course, but Desert Sand or Golden Ochre. We knew nothing of them as we didn't get Railway Magazine or Modern Railways. They looked brilliant brand new and soon became a favourite.
