Excellent video, with everything shown quite clearly, and easy-to-follow instructions. The pincushion is simple to make, too. Mine has button eyes instead of seed beads, and lacking a funnel with a wide-enough spout, I used a small spoon to "feed" the rice into the opening which worked quite well. This one will be part of a gift set, so no posted pics until after Christmas; it's going to be hard to give this little cutie away!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I'm thrilled to hear you found the tutorial helpful. If you have any more questions or if you have any ideas for tutorials you would like to see, let me know!
This is very cute and your instructions are easy and clear to follow. I don't understand why you use rice instead of polyester filling. Made larger and filled with something heavier this would make a great doorstop.😊
You could certainly use polyester, I prefer the rice as it add a bit of weight to the pincushion and keeps it from tumbling away. I love the idea of making it into a doorstop, that would be adorable!
Thank you for sharing this video, it is just what I needed! I am a beginner sewist just getting back into this hobby and needed a quick useful project.
I'm glad you found the chicken pincushion tutorial helpful for your comeback project. If you have any questions or need more ideas, feel free to ask. Happy sewing!
I'm happy to see another chicken lover! I too was tempted to make a whole collection of chicken pincushions 😅. Glad you are enjoying the videos. If there are any videos you would like to see, let me know!
Great tutorial. As a beginner in sewing this was not the easiest project for me, because everything is soo tiny, but I maneged to make one (I cut for 3) and it was cute! Thanks!
That makes me so happy to hear that my tutorial helped you make your very own chicken! The triangles can be a bit fiddly. An alternative could be to cut out the comb and beak with a single piece of felt. That way you could avoid the ironing and it would probably stay in place easier. I hope you continue sewing, it gets easier with time and is so rewarding to build and grow sewing skills.
