I have come to the conclusion that the wood also makes a big difference. My Dewalt DCD777 has failed this task a few times with a smaller battery. However, it plowed right through the wood with a 1.3 AH battery the other day using a 1" spade bit.

Yeah wood can definitely make a difference

I'm really surprised that this video hasn't gotten more views, but congrats on your sub count.

@@DiligentDave1966 Thanks, gone up a few recently, we’re both nearing that 1k mark.

@@GearSpinTools I seem to be stuck, and it’s a little discouraging.
Every time I gain a couple, it seems like at least one of the older ones leaves.

@@DiligentDave1966 Yeah I noticed cause I’ve seen you with like 992 and then back to 990. Either way I’d just try your best and at least put out good content and gain those watch hours. I’ve been kind of stagnant as well, but hopefully gonna start putting out some more content here soon.

@@GearSpinTools I have what I feel are a couple of pretty good videos planned, but I've been procrastinating on recording them.
I haven't been in the right state of mind, and I know that will affect the speaking portion of the videos. I want the delivery to be the best that I can possibly do.
I did recycle a video, though. The HF tools video was older, but it hadn't gotten very many views. I downloaded it, deleted the original, and reposted it with a different title. It is doing quite a bit better than the first time.

The gen 2 is supposed to be quite a bit more powerful than the gen 1, but both did the job in this video.
Maybe larger fasteners is where the difference between the two would show.
I’m still looking forward to seeing the difference between the Spyder and the Diablo bits in these drills, by the way. I think that might make some difference, too.

Yeah it’s hard to tell how much of a difference there is between the drills with this test. I will say I can tell the max output batteries definitely make a significant difference.

      @@GearSpinTools I agree 100%.
I don’t know what the difference is between the two batteries, but the Max Output definitely gives the drill a boost in performance compared to the regular battery.
Like I said before, my subcompact Ridgid wouldn’t drive a 1” Diablo spade bit through a 2x4 with the regular 2.0 battery.
I can only imagine what the new 4.0 EXP battery will do for these drills.

I'm quite surprised the Gen 1 did the 1" spade bit.
Maybe you could try driving screws and lagbolts to see which one's got more torque

      @GearSpinTools  2 месяца назад +1

Yeah, for sure will do further testing between these two.

I'm pretty sure that's where the gen 2 will beat the gen 1. The gen 2 I got had an inconsistent clutch, and it didn't really dominate my old Dewalt DCD777, so I returned it.

I find Ridgid cordless tools very appealing, but also confusing. For example, Octane? They dont seem as well representd in HD as they could be with Milwaukee and Dewalt getting the huge displays and promos.

@@sharkskin3448 Brushless is basically their top end now instead of octane, except certain models have higher specs than other so it can be confusing.
