    I’m no expert, but I have tested the drill against Dewalt, Milwaukee and Flex. The Ridgid is definitely legit. It’s also very comfortable to use.

      @@ZeePirateMan I’m not sure about that, but I think the Ridgid has better ergonomics than the Milwaukee. The Milwaukee is forward heavy, but the Ridgid is just very well balanced.

      They're great tools! I've been using AEG (which I'm sure you know is the same thing as Rigid) since 2005 when I was a first year apprentice, that first drill I had was an 18Volt blue hammer drill that was made in Germany and is still the same battery slot as the new batteries use!

    On 12/29/23 , I got the rigid hammer drill, r86115k , there is a pause/delay when I first press the trigger, I read the literature and it says to press the trigger to turn the drill on, so maybe this is some kind of safety thing or whatever, I am not a fan of it, but I am retired so I will just have to get used to it, I'm loving the quality so far and the lifetime service agreement is hard to beat, I have owned dewalt for decades but having 2 drills fail in 5 years, both of which are almost 300 bucks each, kept inside a spare room, never dropped or abused, and after the 3 year warranty expired, I'm starting to not like dewalt anymore, we'll see how this new rigid does, I'm in west central Florida by the way, I noticed the chicken walking behind you, I'm wondering if you are in Florida as well, happy new year

      That is ridgid’s integrated soft start
      When using tools like the jigsaw or maybe the angle grinder it is Good to have gradual acceleration but I agree on an impact drill let me handle it…
      I got the drill and case but I have the impact without the mode selector. I’ll use my Impact wrench on the big stuff!

There's a Ridgid cordless drill & circular saw for $199, but it's not a hammer drill. Also, Home Depot wants $349 for a Milwaukee hammer drill + circular saw. I'm not spending that much only to see it for sale in a few months for $249 or whatever...

    I have this set, it’s pretty great, but the oil impact drivers are king. Rigid made thei stealth force oil impact and it was supreme. Anyone out the know why rigid stopped making their oil impulse?

    • @J.D.416
      @J.D.416 Год назад +6

      Probably because they were better value than Milwaukee! TTI has to protect them at all cost.

    • @danielloco4349
      @danielloco4349 10 дней назад

      Those impacts would slowly lose its power over time. Milwaukee kind of used ridgid as a test version. Milwaukee used an upgraded version that the oil wouldn't slowly degrade the metal due to mini burst from the oil rapidly heating

    As "The General Expert" It is not practical to compare a 12V tool against an 18v tool as done in this video. Professionals and DYI's want Apples to Apples comparison. It is good to see Rigid stay relevant in this competitive tool market. Makita and Rigid both manufacture good reliable tools.

    RIDGID does not stand up to their Life Time Warranty if they don't want to. I bought a combo kit 13 years ago before the registration LSA but still life time and it had 24v XLi batteries, they will not charge so I tried to get them to replace them and was told they were not registered, I register everything from toasters to tools, and they don't make 24v anymore. I have 3 power tools that collect dust because RIDGID doesn't care about their long time customers.
