As a West Virginian, I’m so glad you made this video!! Mothman, though he’s a gem, takes all the limelight as WV’s cryptid. Its time for our girls spotlight!
Agreed. WV most definitely has some wild cryptids. As well as some incredible history that unfortunately a lot of conservative members of the state are far too uneducated to appreciate.

Hazel's childhood experience about getting into cryptids and aliens mirrors mine so fucking hard that it made me remember a book in elementary school about an alien that came back from the moon landing and the big twist was Neil Armstrong had his name on a clipboard as Neil A. and the protagonist realized it was alien backwards. i love how after every hazel video i have about 30 tabs of the most obscure bullshit open on my second monitor that get me lost in rabbit holes for like a whole day. great stuff :-)
i loooove cryptids and paranormal stuff, when i was a kid my edgy teenage sister got me into Weird New Jersey, a local magazine about cryptid and alien sightings, hauntings, and other alleged paranormal phenomena around the state, as well as just general weird shit you could find. though i was a big scary cat as a kid and i was always afraid an alien or the jersey devil would bust in through my window at night at Get me lmao
6:06 Hearing "Calvin ball" dropped so casually gave me like 20 psychic damage
This is still my favorite hazel video.
Hearing the Deadly Premonition song playing over footage of the original Wild Arms game hits me so hard with nostalgia that idk what to do with myself. Hazel, you have wonderful taste
the little green alien man vibing just makes me so SO happy I cannot describe.
Gonna put the Flatwoods monster in my game now, thank u for bringing the appreciation this Funny Little Creachur deserves!!!
Someone get this girl a gaming PC. She deserves better. This video awakened something inside me
Just discovered you the other week and I love this video with all my heart! Top tier cryptid and top tier content!
Ur enthusiasm always gets me really hyped! Love the video.
I only had to look at the AI-gen.'d image at 20:22 for one second before forcibly acting upon an urge to duck my head to one side away from my laptop and retch *loudly.* thanks hazel
I watch your videos before bed ... I've lost count of the amount of times I've seen them. I truly love your content
I just discovered your channel and was having this video play in the background and as soon as you mentioned a Butter and Eggs day parade, shit you not, my neck 180ed so fast lmao! Nice to know a cool a cool RUclipsr is local to me!
hazel, ive gotta say, i adore your commentary -- i didnt think i would be laughing at the bits in a commentary video but here i am :D thank u for the upload :)
Some of the editing in this video is standard while other bits are hypnotic, I love it. Great to see others sharing their love of the Flatwoods Monster.
theres nothing I love more on a youtube video than someone putting a lot of effort and passion on something most people dont even know about
you have lit a fire in me. my obsessive personality once again rears its head. i could talk about random obscure games and cryptids all day and yet there is no one to listen, but this video has made me feel as though i am not as alone as i thought.
Wow. Somebody else has heard of Chocovader!
I think you encounter Flatwoods in Las Vegas. They're a storyline character, and so are unmissable.
I have
Yooooo no way!!! Flatwoods!!! I know the developer of that game, that's super cool! It's really surreal seeing a project I recognize on that level appear in a video. I can guarantee it's a delight!
I'm glad someone else feels the way I do about the Flatwoods Monster.
Hazel i love this video. It makes me feel like we're friends at a sleepover and you're telling me all about how important Ms. Flatwoods Is to you and it's so cozy
My love for cryptids and UMA were solidified in my teenage years by the manga series Sgt. Frog (Keroro Gunsou), so the bit about the reduced agressiveness of 2000's cryptid's really hit close to home for me tbh !
I can’t believe how few views this has compared to the other videos, this vid is so charming and interesting!
I came to watch a vid about one of my fav cryptids with a comprehensive list, and I got so much more from how entertaining you made it with this commentary!
*Flatwoods Sighting!* Or reference at least. When I saw it it reminded me of this video.
It's literally a one line text only reference but if you want to include it @hazel the details and clip are below:

I love cryptids, especially alien-like cryptids. There is a reason why sableye is my favorite pokemon. Alie cryptids in general activate a part of my brain that makes me go monkey over them. Im glad you did a video like this. Ngl it would be awesome if you did videos like this about the hopkinsville goblins, dover demon, van meter visitor, hell, even mothman. I love shit like this and I would love to see more
Thank you for sharing this valuable knowledge with us. It's changed my life significantly
I had never heard of the flatwoods monster before today, and yet I loved this video
This is how I discovered your channel. I'm glad this exists
This is the most interesting thing I've discovered this year!!! Thank you!!
I'm always so awestruck by the amount of love Hazel shows for the subjects of her videos.
had no idea what kind of video i wanted when i was mindlessly scrolling through youtube at 1am but this was exactly it thank you
Obscure game history and fringe fortean high strangeness is my JAM. Great video!
This was a really entertaining and insightful to watch, I love your tone/choice topics. It's really fun to see how many connections you can make to the main subject of your videos. Cant wait to see what comes next :^]
Just when I think that I am an encyclopedia of the most useless knowledge in the world, Hazel comes along and reminds I only have scratched the surface.
And I love it.
This channel is a gem, it's funny to know that someone in the other hemisphere of the world have the same love for strange cryptids in videogames as me, a student in Chile, keep the good work hazel.
