- When we think of leg kicks, we picture a Muay Thai roundhouse to the thighs, but there are many more ways of attacking the legs. Here are 5 variations of low kicks:
1. Roundhouse
2. Front Kick
3. Side Kick
4. Spinning Heel Kick
5. Jumping Leg Kick

The secret for the perfect leg kick is throwing the kick in the head nobody expect for a leg kick in the head
arthur veo stupid
😂😂😂😂
Yeah sweep em and "accidently" low kick their head
I know it was a joke but Wonderboy Thompson actually finished a guy this way, he went for a leg kick and last second he turned his hip and knee to make it land on his opponent skull.
@@51dodoc a question mark kick
Low kicks are one of the best tools for self defense. A well executed kick would possibly damage the bad guys leg, stopping the fight.
A kick to the head is also a pretty good choice
Kicks to the legs and strikes to the head/liver are the best places to attack
@@LazerProphet head kicks aren't good options on the street unless the attackers head is at your hip level
@@LazerProphet not if youre wearing jeans or something tight, its gonna be difficult to throw high kicks.I got mugged in an alley in my 1st day in America, hit him with two of those full power leg kicks and he's in the ground lol
@@LazerProphet I dont think you have any clue about any hand to hand combat sports, do you?
Teep kick
Front kick
Side kick
Oblique kick
Wheel kick
Man those oblique kicks are scaryyyy
In Savate we call that a Chasse Bas.

Still waiting for bullies to confront me
Same but just to show them, they are the losers not me. Not gonna fight them tho. Iam not gonna use my boxing skills for revenge.
Simple, use the techniques as a bully

Can't wait to try those on my best friend.
Please don't bro 😭
Dont hesitate 😀👍🏻
Great video Shane, as always!! In addition to the kicks mentioned, I think the submarine kick is an exceptional option in a fight, especially if the opponent is someone who checks a lot. For those who don't know, this kick is performed by starting to throw a roundhouse leg kick, then right at the time the enemy goes for a check, you bend the leg you are standing on and pass right down the later's guard, kicking his/hers supporting leg. In my opinion, the best way to use it is to go for roundhouse kicks to the leg and when the opponent starts blocking them with a check, strike the submarine kick. It will do heavy damage by hitting the supporting leg and throw the opponent off balance, leaving him/her wide open for more attacks.
3:34 lol he had to say to the legs
@fighttips thank you Shane for everything honestly I honestly have dreams of becoming a boxer and thanks to you I’m progressing alot
Never knew wheel kick to the leg was a effective technique, thanks Shane!
I love low kicks! And glad you did this video, shows more than one way to throw the low kick. 👍
Amazing video as always. i personally consider leg kicking is one of the best tools for real self defense; It doesn't make you lose balance like what happens when someone tries to kick high in a middle of a street fight.
I love this stomping kick at 1:20 because it's not likely to miss the moving target as the normal front kick does, and above all, if it is delivered right it can end the fight instantly.
Shane, you rock... keep up the good work
👍👍👊✊
I think leg kicks are going to be Jon Jones great weapon against Gus.
UNLEASHING POTENTIAL - PSYCHOLOGY VIDEOS damn you are everywhere lmfao on every videos
Yo what's good homie I see ya Jose videos Alex based everywhere U got a new subb btw
Head kicks.. Jon will beat Gus by it
@@noelnoni7310 dan hardy also talked about that. Jones throws leg and body kicks until his opponent starts blocking, then the head kicks come.
@@joeleek9976 he easily hit Gus in the head 5 times in the first fight. So I can see the ko happening this time. I don't care about Dan Hardy
Great video guys. With many of our classes now on Zoom because of COVID I am showing my Karate students these videos and practicing.
Oh man the spinning hook kick to the leg freaked me out when we started drilling that at Ludwig’s. F’ing brutal man
Thanks for the tips fellas!
Great video!
Edit : Also great tips man really helpful
Thanks, bro! Simple basics good!
Very interesting video thanks!!
Love you Shane ♥️🥊
I didnt even think about a teep kick to the knee. Thanks for the information! Gonna try it on my 3yr old nephew
Thé best kicks Are trown when punches miss or when you angage opponent to punching range
Hey Shane, that last twisty leg kick can be done as a lower meia lua de compasso, and then you have even more velocity into the kick. great vid
I really want to thank you for your videos, I train MMA at the gym but many of my best teachniques and improvement I have done them at home while watching your videos, so thank you.
I really need a tip on what to do while confronting a much taller opponent that keeps jabbing like a boxer keeping me to far for hitting him thanks again😀
feints, and use your back leg to take small steps foward and explode into range. Also keeping hands high is good for closing distance
Best RUclipsr
Shane, how long have you been training?
Nice thank u for the vid
Hey shane, I follow your channel and I've learnt a lot, great work 🙏. I want to ask you about how should I prepare my weekly training plan? Should I do sparring daily? I have access to padding, wrestling, heavybag and sparring. Would you help me with an overview about training schedule to improve my fight? Currently I'm practicing kickboxing and wushu, I will switch to mma as I'll get access to mma gym and coach. If you have time, it would be great if you cover this topic in RUclips video.
I was bullied and i remembered that i knew something about kunfu so i took it pretty well👊👊👊
Another fun one is the front leg hook kick to the thigh. Just like the spinning wheel/hook kick people expect you to go to the head with it.
Thank you
Nice rotation
Dope!
I saw lorenz larkin hitting that on tumenov relatively effectively in their UFC bout, only the 2nd time to see it after I saw Andy do it, interesting technique. Shane, how prevalent/useful are teeps/side teeps rear "oblique" teeps on the thigh in muay thai? I've been seeing it quite a bit there.
I'm also interested in the side teep i've seen samart payakaroon do, that in between side kick and teep. Seems really interesting and i've always wondered how good it would be in MMA, since it can be a bit faster than the traditional side kick, rangier than a conventional teep and maybe harder to catch? Any thoughts on this?
Keep up the great work man! Greetings from Portugal.
Thanks my grandma didn't stand a chance
Hey i wanna know all this tips available for kickboxing?
Somebody please give me more leg kick techniques I am addicted to this technique. 😂
I like leg kicks but I got bitch shins and it hurts when I kick the bag more than a couple times😂
The low Roundhouse target is the IT Band on the outer tight.
I use roundhouses and teeps(but not to the knee). In fact sometimes I'll press on their leg with my foot to prevent them moving a certain direction. I've thought of those other ones, but for one I dont wanna injure my training partners; and knee stomps are against the rules in Muay thai sparring(thats what I train, have been doing so for 2 years and ongoing now). My kick reppetoire is a bit small, roundhouse kicks(most kinds) and teeps(front leg and rear leg) mainly, and sidekicks(front leg usually) every now and then; the main part of my game is my boxing, I use the kicks to suppliment my boxing, add them to my punching combos and movements, if I see an opening for a kick I'll take it and land one. My game isnt kick heavy though; it throws you off balance too badly, and also it becomes predictable if thats all you do or if thats a heavy part of your game. You cant use them too close and thats an issue. Shane can you do some videos about non-telegraphed kicks(and punches) and your thoughts on not telegraphing so much? I'd like that, it would help me with many of my strikes.
Merci beaucoup... Mes frères !!!
I think Barboza has the best kicks in all the MMA
No doubt. Barboza has terrifying kicks.
Barboza and wonder boy..
Pretty sure he did that wheel kick to the leg before but hit the guy in the balls lol
Yeah Barboza hit Paul Felder with a wheel kick to the balls

i got into an accident about a year ago, my broken leg has recovered, but I'm still scared to kick, is it really safe to kick with my recovered leg? or should I just stick with using hands and one foot?
Leg kicks are really good in a street fight they do damage a guy who never learned how to block leg kicks is basically throwing wild punches and hoping some of them connect
You could do round kick or fouette with toe are too if you got boots like in savate, hits nice and heavy. Also shoe heel helps too when you kick from front or side to the knee and shin area with chasse or hunting kick for shorts. Third theres also a nice quick sweeping kick known as coup de bas where sole of the shoe is swept straight your adversarys shin, shoe helps a lot here but i think you could do it barefoot too.
Good.
manachai has brutal lowkicks🇹🇭
Nice
You should try doing the Valeri kick. Made famous by kyokushin future legend Valeri Dimitrov 👍
Do y'all think the side kicks compliment the bladed boxer types? Just wondering, My striking form is more Boxer/Switch-Hitter/Slip and Rip with Elbow and Low kick set ups
I think point style kicks can mesh well with boxing. Point style kicks are at a slightly longer range than you k1, dutch, or muay thai style kicks and tend to be very linear focus (even the round stikes are pretty linear in comparison), the strikes with the hands in that style is also longer range. If you can use your boxing for a closer/tighter range and mix that in with a longer range point style kicks it can mesh well but isn't as common from what I have seen
FiGhT tIpS yeeee boiiii i oove this channel lol
Haha thanks buddy!
I used to always do teeps to the leg I could always land them, but my coach at one point told me not to do them cause it was too dangerous..
Spinning hook kick is another word for wheel kick
Try round house the upper part of the leg muscles ive won many fight with that its very effective to hit the "tan line"body parts thos part that didn't got color from the sun very vulnerable
Teeping the leg is underrated. Especially if you know taekwondo you can combo that into another round kick
Most recent example of being Douglas Lima knocking out MVP. That was a masterpiece
It’s funny, as my coach started with teaching us those low oblique kicks back in high school. But that was not for sports:)
That's a great video and tips. However, I would only mess my opponent's knees that much if they had attacked me on the street and I was in trouble. I never aim for my opponent's legs in general, only above waist. That's my way at least...
Shane, i want to go into traditional boxing. I weigh about 290 pounds, I'm not morbidly obese, but i could lose a few pounds. I started a weight program and am doing great so far, but i want to join a boxing gym. Should i join now or wait until i hit my goal weight? (200-230)
god I love leg kicks
Hey Shane much support dude. I have to ask man. What would you recommend me doing if im looking to defend myself against street fights and muggings etc. and still be healthy in terms of brain injuries. I dont want to have any SERIOUS injuries you know. So what do you suggest man, thanks.
Then dont fight. Even the best fighter gets hit.
I'd love to see Shane fight Vince it would be like Batman vs Wildcat
Are u not gonna break the knee with the second kick?
And if it would happen is it legale?
Notif squad wer u at?
A hard steep over the knee seems scary to take
Video on weird leg kicks defense? : )
Notification gang
I moved from boxing to kickboxing one month ago.Used to do taekwondo but the flexibility i had is lost and im having difficulty with high kicks especially with my left leg
Any tips?
Stretch, stretch and stretch. There are very good routines examples on RUclips...stretch before and after training...in a couple of months you should feel it. Also stretch with the help of others to force better and reach good limits.
Also do some long lasting stretches 1_2minutes per position.
a side low kick could be devastating
Love from india
Also ive never used to side kick like that on the leg
Sir how to strong your legg bone
Oblique kick is the best.
Im a tall southpaw fighter what i like to do in fight is to just spam lowkicks and jabs and surprise them with a hard body or headkick sometimes
I'd like to,spam low kicks then spinning back fist to the chin
Can you make more boxing videos

Shane whats your opinion on gaining muscle mass while training a fight sport or boxing in my case?
Humza Muhammad if it doesn’t get in the way then why not
Eat more
@The african nigga If you want to gain a little bit more size but also want to be good on your fight game should you in that case train with weights or more with body weight? I'm a skinny guy and light on my feet but would like to get into a better shape and add some mass as well for bjj and overall powerfull striking.
Humza Muhammad it depends on your fighting style because if u are more like a Domanik Cruz type, having a lot of muscle mass is probably not a good idea as it will slow down your movement. The best body type for that style is being ripped and having less weight to carry around as u will be able to move a lot quicker. Just know that u will almost always lack in power but will make up for it with your speed, agility and cardio.
Similarly if u are more like a Engano typ, having a lot of muscle mass will work more in your favour as u will have more weight behind your strikes. Just know that your cardio and speed will not be as present but u will only need one to finish the fight.
Hope this helps brother.
You should train for strength and not for size (or volume), since size can mess with your speed and stamina, and hurt a cut for weigh-ins if that applies. So that'd be lower reps with higher weight; don't totally neglect volume training, though, since a bigger muscle has greater potential for strength.
Is the front kick to the leg allowed in kickboxing?
chasse bas and Balayage
inside ankle sweep/stomp
Hey what are your thoughts on the issue about a Tkd bully in philippines?
Nah I can beat that guy
Hey Shane plzz help me I feel so confident that I can hit my opponent when I'm imagining that I am hitting him when is not infront of me .....but when he is in front of me I become nervous... well that's a common point ok .......
But while it's come to hitting him or beating with my hands and legs automatically doesn't allow me to hit whats negativity with me ... I fear while hitting him my hands don't allow me to hit when enemy is in front of me what should I do to hit him ..and this is my first fight
So brother brother pllzzzzzzz respond my question reply answer my answer..... why my hands get shut and can't be raised on enemy when he is in front of me plzzzzzzz reply😭😭😭😭😭😭💖💖💖
Keep sparring
Kick to the balls. The ultimate kick.
Any tips on a southpaw because I always throw leg kicks but I always get checked and my shin kills afterwards
Go on inside leg kick maybe.
Also you can try step on the side and kick in the stomach with your left and combine with a good right punch on the side of the head.
Also do fake moves with your legs and hips (saenchai) to effectively be able to confuse before kicking.
@@whistli my back is my inside kick because im a southpaw
I’m not experienced but I would say kick high a lot so you get them thinking high them go low or work on your switch kick alot

Wondering what a useful counter-tactic would be against an opponent who uses a lot oblique kicks, like Jon Jones.
Inside leg kick?
ok so to not confuse everybody watching these videos and are use to watching fightips other than the round kick and the teep none of the other kicks are from Muay Thai they are from his TKD training im assuming so karateish style kicks
Only bad thing about spinning back leg kick is that you can get DQ really fast if you hit something else 😂
Jon Jones watched this video before the Gustafsson fight.

Low sidekick is a Savate technique
Just like its a karate technique or a tkd technique!.
Sir I have pain in my knee so what to do
Amputate
harshvardhan Singh raghav - Just smash them up with a hammer
Let it recover. Did you squat with more weights than usual or got kicked ?!
Do not train until recovered. Instead eat better (cereals and seeds, avocado) and soft massage-exercise. Also hot cold.
Do steroids
People don't throw that oblique kick in sparring, that kick would permanently injure the other person and you don't want that.
Hi
Barboza has the best kicks...he is a lightweight who kicks as hard as a heavyweight
