I spent half a year to working on this solo. I know that sounds long, but I started early for a set performance. As I’m writing this, I just played it for the last time. This song was a blast and a phenomenal first four-Mallet piece to learn the ropes. Thanks for making it and I fully recommend you all try it. 10/10
Good morning Adam, I’m performing this piece for a concert next week May 3rd and I’m being asked for a publication date but can only find the year 2015
I am working under Benji right now learning this solo. Going to be performing it soon for our percussion recital at the end of April. Thanks for such a beautiful solo.
I’m learning it rn too, have you noticed in the published version that measures 33-36 and measure 50, along with various other places, sound different in the recording than what’s on the score? It’s been bugging me, especially since I think the version in the recording is far groovier.
So I am waiting on this to come in for my solo and ensemble piece and I was wondering if you would recommend this to a highschool student? Since it previews the first page upon purchase I have the first page down, however the rest seems a bit more challenging. And any tips would be amazing.
They totally do! I’m really annoyed about this bc the version he plays in the recording is groovier than the score, especially the modification of the high F, D, and C to a G, D, and F in measure 50, and the completely different measures 33-36. But yeah, there are weird inconsistencies in the first sections too. If I ever perform this piece in a competition, I will be confined to the far more boring version that’s available online. Adam Hopper, more like Adam Flopper.
@@prjtsrnvs670 Which score are you using? In my score, measures 33-35 are a F - G - Am progression, whereas in the vid he plays a more interesting G4, A4, Bdim. Also yeah measure 50 is completely different

Publication date should be in the copyright line on the page.

Simply Malignant Lol, a little late? It’s not as complicated as you think, easy patterns to pick up
Would you recommend this as a first solo? I really want to learn to play this!
@Angela Arreola Perez I've got two months. I should get it good enough by then, right?
Absolutely man!
What mallets are you using?
Those are Robert van sice mallets from Vic firth
The end of section A and section B have different notes than what’s played

@@joshuadorsam4619 where are the inconsistencies in 33-36. I am learning this solo and he plays it just like the score.

@@joshuadorsam4619 perhaps many versions came out. In my score the LH in M33-36 plays C F : D G : and E A. And the last chord is Bb, D, F, A
