Hi, awesome video I learned a lot! Thank you for that really. Just a quick newbie question though, if someone could answer it that'd be really nice: I assume that the amount of €/$ that the customer is paying is still directed to the bank account that you connected to your woocommerce account, am I right? If I am, it means that at the end of the year when you have to pay the taxes, that you collected with that bank account, to the IRS or other state financial institution, it'll be easier for you to sort out what amount you owe in taxes thanks to these tools?
In other words: is there any other purpose for these tools, except the fact that the VAT% is displayed to the customers?

Can’t you just have the tax based on the location of the shop?
Will there be a problem with that?
Then you receive the same tax as you as the shop owner later have to pay in taxes (somehow?).

Hi Ferdy, as I am no VAT expert I wanted to automatise it. I installed the plugin when enabling automisation, I cannot choose to input prices with VAT included any more. Is there another option for this that you know of?

Hi Ferdy, Thank you for a useful video's you are making. I have a question about woocomerce shipping and tax plugin. When you make it automatic in the end the prices are changing in exclusive of taxes and I cant change it.

Hey Verdi, how can it be that 21% tax results in $17.36 VAT out of 100$? Shouldn''t it be 21$?

It can be confusing sometimes, but since you are adding taxes to your net value (without taxes), you first have to calculate that from your total price if you want to include them in your price automatically. WooCommerce does this for you and the calculation for it looks like this:
      100€ (Price Inc. TAX) ÷ 121% = 82.64€ (Price Ex. TAX) × 21% = 17.36€ (Actual Taxes)
If you have other rates like 10%, you first have to divide by 110% to get your net price from your price inc. taxes and then you can multiply by 10% to get the amount of paid taxes. Hope that helps!

I followed your directions for the automated tax and shipping plugin but the plugin says that it is not compatible with my version of WP (I have the latest version installed) and it does not work. No matter what I do (going in through an incognito window etc) it does not show any taxes at checkout. any suggestions of where to look for the problem?

      Hi,
Try to clean your cache plugin. If you're using LItespeed Cache, sometimes you need to clear all the cache (CDN included), in order to see the changes.

Hello Ferdy, thank you for the very helpful video. I have a specific demand and I am wondering if you could help. I want to have a standard price for my product let's say 10 euros and depending on whether my client is from the Netherlands or the USA I still want to get 10 euros,. If they are from the Netherlands I will pay 9% of these 10 euros to the governement and if they are from the US I will pay 5% according to your example. Is this possible?

    Hi Ferdy

Hello all, I have a question about intra-community delivery. In my B2B webshop, I have set the VAT rate for the Netherlands to zero, and that works fine. However, when a customer selects 'pickup', the webshop again calculates VAT for Dutch customers. How can I solve this problem?

Does anyone know how to delete a cvs file after it’s uploaded in the “standard rates” tax section? Besides doing it one by one.
