This is a great breakdown. As doc filmmakers we also have corporate clients and this 7 step guide applies as well. To all stories.. hey wait.. even to my story!
I love the Videos you make so much. You really help me a lot on my journey to becoming a better Doc-Filmer and stroy teller. Just today i started to dive into the story for my bachelor thesis film, and this video really pushed me in the right direction. Or lets say it gave me the confidence that I am already on a good path. thank you so much for doing this! kind regards from Germany
Lesss gooo! Love to hear this. So glad it is helping you on your thesis film. What is your film about? Can't wait to hear how it goes. Cheers from the US!
@@austinmeyerfilms excuse my english, i'll try my best and discribe it. itle: "Off the Beaten Path: A Filmic Exploration of Alternative Career Paths" Description: The documentary sheds light on alternative career trajectories, challenging the conventional model of a linear life path. It focuses on individuals who have chosen to carve out their own way. What opportunities do we miss when deviations are treated as flaws? How high is the actual risk? What can we learn from these unconventional individuals? The exploration navigates the tension between success, competence, self-fulfillment, and societal recognition. i will feature three Protagonists and ask them about thier individual path through life. everyone of them is super intresting and would be woth a story of their own. I might follow up on that. This topic touches on my personal upbringing, changing direction a lot, but learning a ton while doing it. I want to show how no skill learned is ever in vain. my unique Skillset helps me to be a better Stroyteller and Filmmaker all the time. I hope to use this as A spec project for my portfolio. after that i will do my master thesis right away i guess, because, this project already qualifies for the requirements. so i'm confindent. i guess I will try and do a film in English next, although it is really tough a a non native speaker to pull it off. Maybe if i spend some time in the States to make it more second nature.. thank you, your videos on YT are invaluable and they helped my own chalnel already.. kind regards!
Thanks for watching! So glad it was helpful. These videos never get the same views as gear reviews, but I love talking about story, so I hope some folks get value!
