      It would be cool to see an in-depth series on the Spanish newts, I see very little information on newts and salamanders out there. The perspective of a fish keep compared to an amphibian keeper might also be interesting.

    Welcome back to RUclips! You mentioned with your Ameca splendens them beating up on corydoras. I had noticed in my tank with blue tail goodeid I was losing corydoras cats and I was talking to a old timer hobbyist, he said the female goodeids will go beat up the cory cats, especially after they drop fry. So I pulled corydoras out of all my goodeid tanks and have ancistrus in with them.

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  Год назад +1

      That's easy, use terra Cotta plant watering stakes, they are like $2 each and bristlenose love to breed in them, my favorite though is the pleco ceramics small cave, it's the preferred choice for young bristlenose to start spawning in

    • @problemaquarium

      Okay I’ll do! I’m breeding BN ALBINO, regular, regular long fin, leopard frog, L201, L333, super red long fin BN, and clown, and blue eye long fin albino BN.
      Just collected 300-400 bronze cories since we are getting a massive snow storm tonight. My orange lasers need to grow out more before I think they’ll breed, getting pandas soon.
      Also breeding neon rainbows. DAISY'S BLUE RICEFISH-ORYZIAS WOWORAE , sorry caps lol
      Blue shrimp, cherry shrimp and Asian snails.
      Green varieties of crypt, bronze crypts, red tiger lotus, green regular tiger lotus, varieties of Anubis, Java moss, Bolbitis Heudelotii Difformis, Taxiphyllum barbieri, Subwassertang (Lomariopsis Lineata)-this one is my fav for egg scatters!
      Also have Amano shrimp of course not breeding them.
      Looking for another L to start breeding.
      Working on my own rack atm. Centralize air system for most of the tanks plus 2217 eheims
      So I’m wondering if I should expand to different caves for the other non-BN plecos I want to try.

    Quick question, why these tanks are so low (I mean height)?

    • @gregjonesonline
      @gregjonesonline  Год назад

      they were originally designed for coral frags which needs little height but lots of surface area, with corals or plants the deeper the water the stronger the lights need to be, but they work great for cory cats, plecos, and livebearers, all of which don't need height but all of which like the large surface area. for reference, a 55 gallon tank has a total surface area of 624 inches square, while a 50 gal lowboy has a surface area of 1,152 inches square!
