The belief is that the change was not warranted and negatively affected the outcome of the game
I agree with your analysis, more or less. I think using Antonio and Boza to start is not a bad idea - our strongest forwards as a battering ram, and we were shades away from a goal by Antonio. The changes were the problem. Big Dish made no mistakes and unless he was injured, he should have played 90. Cephas and Dixon should have come on at around the hour mark for Gray and either of the two starting forwards. They should trust Dixon more too - he points to where he wants the pass and doesn't get it. Try him with a few and see.
The coach is conservative in his approach, it's his nature. When the team opened up against Canada in Canada he said the game was too open for his licking. Truth be told, while his change seems questionable, in the final analysis the goal resulted from a lack of leadership on the field. We outnumbered the number of Mexican players in our area, yet a Mexican was free to take the shot. Better communication on the field could have solved that problem.
Good analytical point... but in my opinion we are short 3 good attacking quality to make this team better.

I cannot understand why Bernard was subbed however I understand why Lowe was brought into the game. The Mexicans begun slicing through our midfield, exploiting the space between Palmer and Bobby who to me were poor. They gave away the ball too easily.
It was a God damn disgrace and what happened for everyone with a little football knowledge and an once of intelligence

We saw some in-game decisions that appear to be questionable, but until we hear from the coach, aren't we just making assumptions?

@lansleyblake1848 I'm not saying questions shouldn't be asked bro, especially with this particular game. I'm just hard pressed to make a definitive conclusion without at least hearing the coach's rationale. It may appear to be one way from the outside and not be what we're thinking at all. If we have been listening to what the coach has been saying from the very beginning, and looking at everything that has transpired, we are not doing badly at all. It's definitely not pretty, but I think folks are being impatient and unrealistic.
They complain whether r win lose or draw.

Thought after hearing your start i was going to totally disagree with your commentary…..surprisingly i agreed with about 87%of what you observed.
Saturday's game showed me there was a lot of work on team building done leading up to this game.
There were a lot of positives that have been missing in most other games, and i think this Leon Butler episode did a lot in bringing this team together.
However, Coach you need to grow a pair soon, to hell with the Jamaican public. Demand your teams respect and don’t be afraid of making those hard decisions in your team.
My worry now is about Lowes inclusion for the next game. Defensively he’s a liability and in mid he’s okay, can he better the production of Saturdays midfield?
I’m not disrespecting Lowe, questioning his style of play and how it might affect the flow.

If we can make this change now, we might can get it right. I would give Dixon the minutes after his Mexico game. Give him a start 25 minutes with Antonio. The 2 changes were Cephas and Dixon at 65 minutes. For Gray and Boza
Wingers game was yesterday Cephas and Dico are super subs.
There is no way they should under rate these 2 who got us through 2 qualifiers thus far.
The only way the goal could have been prevented was for one of the 5 defenders to tackle and block the shot.

100% onboard with all that you said and I think for the next game; the coach should start the upfront players as as Dixon on the Right Cephas on the Left and Antonio upfront in the middle. Right now the Defense and midfield that start is fine. Just the upfront line need top fix; start the young youth in a the mix.

too much armchair coaches. This is one of the diseases of jamaican football. wi find fault with every coach who has coached the national team and when we think the coach is not doing what we think is right we readily call for their heads. This has been going on from the 60s when Penna came to Jamaica. and no matter who wi get fi coach the side the outcome will be the same.

Kranky I think Mexico would have scored whether the changes were made or not, generally we were playing under pressure for almost the entire game, this to me means that at some point we were going to concede, we need to learn to keep the ball a bit more and that’s the way to keep the opponents off of us from time to time, we were going to let one in because it’s unlikely to keep a clean sheet under 90 mins of pressure..

I don't think the coach to be fired. The program will go back to the same position like under Whitmore and the team will not qualify for the world cup.

Kranky, attack takes a while to jell. It is held in the culture of football that offense is a three years project all fx considered. You build a football team from the back line to forward. Compounding this issue is the fact that national coaches don't get the players a whole lot, compared to the club game. To make an argument for the coach as a coach myself and coaching is 50% logic the coach could be saying three times Nicholson/Antonio partnership is better than New Partnerships of unproven players everyday. The strength of that argument is in the proof of the performance - are these two showing signs of syncing? That would be passes, runs of each other, combinations, false runs/opening runs/overlapping/underlapping, shots away due to movement, space created. Whatever criteria for assessing that.
It might be realistic for us to see this tournament as a fantastic opportunity to play world cup quality opposition and gain a real leg up in preparing for the others intent on taking one of three other world cup spaces. If we hope for superlative feats in the while we prepare let's not be too hard on ourselves unless we throw an absolute opportunity to win.

Kranky the bottom line is the Jamaican squad does not have any quality midfielders and forwards to complete against quality teams. Skill players make good passes beat players and make split passes. There are no playmaker in the team.

Dixon is as good as Bailey, or even better in my eyes, he just needs the platform to express his talent. Bailey too full of himself. If he had played, we would all be screaming at the tv as he would have disappointed. I'm glad he is not in the team, this will force the other players to perform better collective.

It's easy to say the coach made the wrong changes without hearing from him why he made those seemingly inappropriate changes.
Which reporter is going to ask the correct questions of the coach?
I find it inconceivable that the coach made those changes without a good reason.
People always like to beat without getting the full picture.
All of us lay people saw the changes that logically needed to be made. So the question then, is what made him make those particular changes?
