@@jon87583 The entire show was dedicated to the victims and their families. The president at the time, blackballed anyone who performed on the show since it will keep the news in the media reminding people of her massive f’up. 2NE1 and some other celebs basically said FU to the president and went on the show anyways.
If you REALLY want to cry anytime you hear any mention of the Sewol Ferry Tragedy, look up on RUclips the last video clips the children took on the sinking ferry which they uploaded online as goodbyes to their family and friends. The videos first start with the kids joking around thinking it will pass and you can see as the time passes the realization that they are all going to die.
Always tear up watching that live performance. Especially thinking of how the kids who died were around Minzy's age and younger.
So happy to see you checking them again. They are by far my favorite group in K-pop history.
How many KPOP groups can just sit and sing like 2NE1 and still hold your attention? I have watched maybe 40 2NE1 videos of mv and live. Each one is unique showing their talents. Recommendations: "I Don't Care" rock version, and "Crush" live performance.
Mamamoo and that's it during my 20 years of being kpop fan. You just don't see it done very often.

Definitely heartache, the whole nation was grieving
The performance was a homage to the Sewol Ferry victims, which many high school students died in. Cl and Bom were both sick, they were recommended to be on vacal rest or to lipsync. They instead ignored them and performed live, which can be seen and heard in some parts. I read somewhere that after they finishing perfoming they were sent quickly to the hospital because they fainted.
But the crack on CL voice on the opening and Bom's last part just added the heartache feel to the performance ..
100% performance bar none ..
Lonely live is great too… missing you and it hurts is great ballad songs too

If I remember correctly during the live performance it was heavily discussed if they were to perform due to sickness. They all had severe colds and just speaking hurt you can see it on Booms neck the lymph node is incredibly swollen, however as it was an homage to the victims of the Sewol Ferry tragedy they still chose to perform even with doctors recommending them to be on complete vocal rest. (There might be some info missing here and its so long since I read the news so take it with a grain of salt)

thankk u for reacting to lonely, this song was the first ever KPOP song that I listen from the first second to the last second and I had the same xpression with the guy with gray her, i dont know why Im sad or have teary eyes when I dont know what they say. I mean this gg brought me into Kpop and in 2011 is the golden era of KPOP for me

my only suggestion: when you do reactions to #BIGBANG AND #2NE1 better use videos that has a Eng. subtitles bcoz it really helps & you'll appreciate the song as well. 💖💖💖💖

At the time "Come Back Home" was the most expensive kpop girl group video ever made. It's probably not even Top 10 or Top 20 now. Sadly it was also really their last big comeback as a group. They had an album and a few more MV's afterward, but not on this level.
Bom got wrapped up in a drug scandel right after the album dropped that shut them down for nearly a year. They had a huge comeback stage at the MAMA Awards, but then Minzy left YG. They did 1 last song and that was it. At least until that surprise iconic Coachella performance a few years ago.

in the span of 10+ yrs since 2nd gen era, you rarely see groups do acoustic that showcase their full live vocals without any backing track or accompaniment. There are 3 or 4 since then that only tried to do it really live not pre recorded or did lipsync. There were numerous cases that some group sang on a recorded setting but was lipsynced or overdubbed which fans hated because it was not a genuine acoustic live.
