Incredible! The 5th finger holds in 2nd iteration in Chopinno.1 I'll never know howthat's done.To play all the Chopin etudes. Your left hand is incredible in2nd etude! No.3 showed taste, musicality. This pianist has it all! No.4 was music not a study. FANTASTIC MUSICIAN!no.7 was a Poeish Gothic nightmare incredible voicing.Phrasing.The highest levels. Incredulous at much here but the music is the only point made. The Ligeti(I have 4 cds)etudes captivate. The no.1 takes even fingers and accents just impossible!
This is pure insanity!!! This woman learnt how to play piano on a spaceship where they programed her brain with technologies unknown to Earthlings. 99.99% of professionally trained classical pianists (including myself) could not play 6 Chopin etudes back to back because our arms hurt too much (on a modern piano which is much heavier than the one Chopin had). I need a 1 hour break after I play the Chopin no. 1 once through in tempo. The fact that she plays so many etudes together means she doesn't have to practice any of them a lot which is just insane. Imagine Usain Bolt doing a 100m, 200m, 400m, 110m hurdles, 4×100m, 4×400 back to back and then finishing off with a marathon. And of course flawlessly winning them all. The saddest part of it is that she probably isn't happy about herself like all people who've reached unimaginable performace levels in any given realm.
@@mikeswanson7847 Though less common than performances of complete sets of the Preludes, Ballades, Scherzos, etc, there have been performances of the complete etudes. Cortot, Arrau. Serkin played the op 25 in recital. That’s getting to be quite a well populated spaceship. Jeanne-Marie Darré also had a suite in that spaceship.
@@hellbooks3024 yes, but those old Jews like Serkin, Arrau, Cortot and others played 30% of wrong notes, you can't compare that to the perfection of this woman. This is another level. Of course she's not famous because she's not a Jew like all of Arraus, Richters, Ashkenazys and the rest ...
These are some of the best performances of the Chopin etudes I've ever heard - and back-to-back too! And I'm glad to find a community in the comment section who're capable of recognizing what she's done here. What a gem!
I never write comments. Because eather you like it or you don't like. Nothing else really matters. But people goes and ramble on and on about everything. Yes, here you can see why, this performance is Divine! Thank you for the share! Greetings from Latvia! Marko
What a remarkable technique completely dedicated to a superb sound and a tremendous understanding of Chopin's (and Ligeti's) music. This lovely person is completely devoted to music. My full respect.
100% agreed. Same happened to her at the Rubinstein and the Tschaikovsky. Incompréhensible decisions when it’s there for everyone to hear and see that this is a world class performer.
These are all stunning interpretations. Aside from the immense technical aspects and memory requirements themselves I am deeply moved emotionally by your incredible musicianship and insight into these ‘studies’. Thank you Sara.
The sheer perfection and smoothness of this performance of the Chopin Etudes way surpasses every version I have ever heard, leaving the much-praised Pollini recording (which some say was heavily edited) trailing in the dust. The level of left-hand detail, voicing and articulation, for example in Op.10 No.2, is just astonishing. Ach, despite the enormous difficulties it all sounds just too easy... And then there are the Ligeti Etudes, which are as good as they come. A hugely impressive recital. To perform all these pieces from memory is an Olympic achievement. Bravo !!!
"heavily edited" my foot! I've had the chance to listen quite a few concerts of Pollini when he was around forty years old, and I can assure you he was as flawless and fearless as in any of his celebrated DGG records.
Such poetry and mastering of the technique don’t go together very often The musical ideas are so beautiful, so is the quality of timbre, the legato, the phrasing… And the hand is connected directly to the soul A marriage that you almost never hear The piano too is wonderfully prepared It does not sound as an equal temperament, rather a very well aural one
Comment dire .. how can i say .. well .. Sara your piano shines above well above all my visible and invisible piano stars ... your are my piano 🖤 .. oh and also heard yesterday your Bach clavier bien tempéré .. : beyond magnifique !
OMG She is such a fabulous pianist!!! How have I never heard of her before? So silky and iridescent sounding. Plus the polyphony that she picks up on and choses to render salient is very interesting and artful. BRAVA! #subscribedimmediately.
A stunning performance of some of the most challenging works in the repertoire - such clean articulation, rich textures and lovely voicing. This is superlative playing from one of the best pianists alive.
An outstanding performance - exciting and absorbing - absolutely smashing! No gimmicks, no pouting and posturing. No high heels. No short skirt and cleavage. Just letting the music and pianism shine through. Thank you.
Thank you Sara for sharing this video. It's an absolute joy to watch and listen to this performance. The talent, work ethic, and mastery you possess is nothing short of breathtaking!
These are so immaculate! You’re able to bring new dimensions into the well-known Chopin etudes, and the Ligeti are some of the best recorded. The crispness in Zauber and polyrhythmic madness in Automne are deeply felt. Your L’escalier is probably the most accurate out there (so many pianists flub the rhythms!) Bravo!!
The wonderful victory of intelligence. I've never listened to such kind of impersonal and perfect Chopin. What is Rubinstein Competition? Who is Rubinstein?
Arthur Rubinstein was one of the greatest pianist of 20th century. Rubinstein competition takes place in Israel and it is considered very prestigious competition . Sara won 2 nd price at this competition.
@@privateprivate22 You don't understand what I mean. Rubinstein is the typical vulger. He can only arrange neatly each sound and nothing more. You are perfecty contamianted by knowledge.
Mi chiedo perché la maggior parte dei pianisti nello studio delle ottave di chopin non tengano la nota in mezzo alle ottave che serve x li dipendenza delle dita e le suonino come le ottave di Liszt, sbagliato
In my opinion, this is a more impressive feat than all 12 Transcendental Etudes in one recital. A shame that a live audience wasn't there to witness it.
Op 25/2 is gorgeous pianistically but not arithmetically. In this performance (as in many others) quarter-note triplets generally support 2+2+2 rather than 3+3 articulation of the eighth-note triplets; Chopin's 3s mean 3 in both hands. More difficult to play than Ligeti's rhythms?!
I can't believe this isn't more popular her playing is so encapsulating.
And the dynamics !
Exactly! I feel so encapsulated!
@@hellbooks3024 Excellent. Remember to call your doctor in the morning.

This is by far the most moving piano performance I have ever heard. The composers would be incredibly pleased
Absolutely incredible. 99% of humanity has no idea how much hard work this requires, and you did it! Bravo
