Honestly this is probably one of the best changes to a Disney park I’ve seen in a while. It modernizes the effects, rounds out the story, but stays true to the original feel of the ride.

Yes! I love that they kept the original feel. It has the right balance of modernization and the original feel which I think feels more immersive. I think that with some of the rides they did it a little over the top with the modernization.

@@kaila9224 Honestly the older Scary Adventures variation was better in my opinion because of how much more entertaining it was. This is the first Snow White ride that truly felt like the experience you got from watching the movie. Trust? They are still running very racist rides in Disneyland.. time to cancel the entire park.

    • @eriktaylor754
      @eriktaylor754 3 года назад +22

@@kevina2052 Let us see Kevin, the Jungle Cruise is closed while they are removing the offensive content. Splash Mountain is being reworked to remove the entire Song of the South overlay and create an attraction which honors a story which is more inclusive.
The Native American section on River's of America is actually set in the BadLands of South Dakota and is absolutely correct for the Lakota People. (My great grand parents and grandfather lived on the reservation)
The Enchanted Tiki room has a HapaHaole song which are very much a part of the Hawaiian culture yet does not depict any of the Hawaiian people in a derogatory manner. The Tiki Gods are an amalgamation of gods throughout Polynesia. Many may be stylized representations of the gods and goddesses, yet what is stated about them are fairly accurate. To depict these dieties accurately would be inappropriate to those cultures, so the stylized representations are entirely acceptable. (I studied with Hawaiian cultural practitioners.)
So as much as you want to "cancel the entire park" simply because you would like to erase the racism, it is better to learn from our mistakes, correct them, and move forward. Erasing what is painful is the easy way out. Yet it never solves anything.
Walt Disney realized once a movie was completed it was done, it could never be changed. Disneyland was dynamic. It could evolve and change. When something did not work, it could be reworked or be replaced. What you want is absolutely against why the park was created in the first place. Which is absolutely why you are wrong and why you are comply ignorant of the purpose of Disneyland. Which is it is dedicated to the ideals, hard facts that have created America . . . with the hope that it will serve as a source of source and joy and inspiration to all the world.
Those are some pretty damn lofty goals for a simple little amusement park to live up to. Yet for the past sixty-six years the Disney corporation for better or worse has done their best to do precisely that. Sometimes they have succeeded and other times they have failed miserably.
Disneyland or any of the other subsequent parks were never meant to be fixed in the past, they are meant to be living evolving entities. Which means unlike somethings you may be used to@@kevina2052, they can change.

Wow! This looks so much better! I never cared for this ride before - it just seemed off in tone and weirdly paced. This still feels like a classic dark ride, but looks much more fun. Love the thoughtful integration of projections - enhances the experience without being distracting. Can't wait to ride it!

Speaking as someone who was traumatized by Snow White's Scary Adventures when I was a kid...
(Okay, "traumatized" is a bit dramatic, but I WAS SUPER SCARED AND I DID NOT LIKE IT ONE BIT!)
...I am totally in love with this updated version! It's still got some creepy elements, but overall, it's much brighter, has a more coherent story, and just overall seems...well, enchanted! I'll be excited to experience it in person the next time I visit Disneyland!

That poison apple scene and the mirror effect at 1:57 were amazing. I wish WDW had this. I miss how the witch offers you the apple though, and how it makes it look the witch is going to drop the rock on you(the rider). Do you even see the witch fall? It just goes to show you dont need to replace the "old school dark rides". you can just update them.

I have my thoughts ;) I liked that the story was complete. But I feel WDW's version told it better. Even DLP's version tells it nicely. But to the extent that the previous version was scary, this version is happy. (It's excessively happy) I may or may not have burst out laughing at the end.
I'm glad though that the story doesn't just end with a book. But I miss all of the thematic scary elements. Like Inside Out taught us - we should embrace all emotions. Some of us kids (and kids at heart) love the villains and atmospheric experiences like Halloween walk-throughs.

Yeah, stupid people who are always complaining about these things just like with Pepe Le Pew. I bet one of those people is Keira Knightley. Remember that whole dumb opinion about hers about Disney Princesses, especially telling her daughter not to watch them and forcing her agree with her. She's a great actress and all but this thing cuts the cake.
If I read correctly, a lot of feminists seemed to disagree with her view.

I know right. Like guyssss she couldn’t give consent. What do they want her to do magically wake up and then give consent. Without she would have died. Also, they are not going to change the plot because they can’t handle it. IT IS a FAIRYTALE! The story also took place in a time where girls often didn’t get a say in it. It’s sad but a sort of history. You can’t erase that
