- #garbagetruck On Republic's first day in Santa Ana, we went out around 3pm expect them to be mostly done with route, but when we arrived most of the city was still full. after a while we found 2601 finishing up a neighborhood, then he went off and took a break with 2603. later we found 2626, the driver asked nicely for us not to film, so then we went and found 2614 nearby on recycling. only got 2 clips before he went to dump. then we found 2623 doing greenwaste. after we left 2623 we tried looking for more trucks, but sadly, it seemed they all went to dump/ back to the yard. Republic has had a not so good start to the contract, they left 75% of the friday route full for Saturday. i do hope they improve their service here though.
thanks to all drivers in this video for letting us record! Happy July 4th!
Great Video! It still throws me off about seeing Residential Republic Services in Santa Ana lol.
Will you also get videos of the Commercial Republic Services trucks that will run in Santa Ana? Imma guess it's just going to be Pete 520 Heil CNrG Front Loaders as it seems like those are more common nowadays
thanks. pretty sure it will be 520 Heils but ill have to check that out someday.
Looks like transitions can never go smoothly. Anyways glad you guys filmed this after Republic took over. Hopefully the ZRs get faster after enough usage. Still not used to how boxy those Q carts are, they get squeezed pretty badly if not grabbed right. Happy 4th!
this transition is probably one of the worst i have seen, republic is not doing well here right now. the Qs are boxy but actually seem better compared to older SSI models. happy 4th to you too.
Happy 4th of July Independence day and glad to see the new Signage Trucks came in the early late morning route collecting garbage Trashcan
thanks, this was actually the later PM.
@@DanielWDonuts of course I mean it's great to know that drivers shifting really good in the day on their afternoon since after lunchtime
Nice catch you might see a roto being reused love the ZR
Republic usually doesn’t reuse cans, I doubt I will see any rotos being reused.
Cool vid. Nice Pete 520
Martin told me one driver backed up into 3 of the brand new trucks as he was leaving the yard. That may have soemthing to do with it.
thats only 3 trucks though. we saw 5 trucks in the entire city.
Nice Video, I live near here and I thought I saw a white Autocar Rapid Rail but idk if it was a Republic services rental or if it was just not painted yet
You live in Santa Ana, and saw a white Rapid Rail?
@@DanielWDonuts No I live near it. and I dont know if it was republic
Finally Republic collecting these carts haha
Yup
Op well now I'ma evolve my PFP into a Peterbilt zr from mc nielus
Nice
Great video, Daniel! Hoping the ZRs get a bit faster over time lol. I would definitely like to see the Brea drivers that transferred there eventually. I have a guess as to who asked you not to film. I know one of the new guys that transferred down who was skeptical about filming. I think the driver in 2614 subbed on my greens last month. That's crazy they left so much route for Saturday. Did they not have enough drivers, or was the day just going slow since the drivers (at least the ones new to the city) had to learn the routes/get used to the trucks?
Thanks. Sure hope the ZRs do get faster, but I think these guys are just inexperienced with the joysticks because some of them are from WM. It seemed as if there were only 5 trucks doing the whole city, and that’s why so little route was covered.
Rumor has it that WM had 12 drivers quit in one day, due to the transfer
12 guys is quite a lot, did you work for WM?
There Is Still A WM Cart That Can Be Seen At 13:22
Great video dude, are there only zrs? Or are there some rapid rails.
only ZRs as regular trucks as this is a brand new contract.
I saw a rapid rail in Santa Ana
Sick
It was collecting yard waste
Cool do u know the truck number?
Nice video bro
Nice video! Aren’t the carts like a SSI EG?
no, these are Q Series
@@DanielWDonuts Alr thank you the looked like a mix.
I have no problem with the trucks; the carts, however, disgust me
I see the description rn saying that a garbage man said u cannot film did the driver have glasses and airpods
no
@@DanielWDonuts oh ok
The 30 q series look weird
Did you see any drivers from Anaheim that you recognized
Not from Anaheim, but I recognized some of the guys from WM that I had filmed earlier in the week.
@@DanielWDonuts from what wm truck numbers were they driving prior to republic
@@refusetrucksofo.c.3266 the guy doing greenwaste in 2623 was in 103093 on Monday
@@DanielWDonuts ig he loved the city so much he couldn’t leave
Republic Services No Trash
what happen to wm can somone tell me
They lost the contract of Santa Ana it expired after 10 years edward
By The Way, Republic Services Will Lose The Contact Of Santa Ana 10 Years Later.
I have no problem with the trucks, the carts, however, disgust me
The colors or the cart model?
Completely the opposite. Them zrs are pure trash.
@@AlliedWaste76 I see you making this claim a lot - do you really think they’d be one of the most popular ASLs across the country if they’re as bad as you make them sound? Have you ever driven/done maintenance on one?
@@AlliedWaste76 the ZRs may not be the best truck out there however Q series is a legit abomination
@@TwinCitiesTrash Hate to watch them, probably my least favorite truck to watch but judging by how they are outselling practically everything with the only exception being maybe amrep Mcneilus must be doing something right with them, good units
zr's zr's. republic is using 'em in carlsbad too :/
any old carts left? i saw a few on maps
i think those drivers need a bit of practice
