    I'm so excited to try this! This was my 2nd favorite cake (1st was red velvet and I'm currently working on a wfpb recipe for that) before I started eating mostly plant based.

    I just wanted to tell you I made my cheese sauce yesterday and it is the best as I expected it would be and so easy I usually avoid making it because it’s so much trouble THANK YOU for making this product and many others! I also get so many compliments on my t-shirt (team herbivore) I’ll definitely be ordering more stuff to try and will keep buying the cheese sauce mix ❤️

    Entertaining as ALWAYS. Never tried Tres Leches before because I always hated milk....definitely going to try this and thinking of using soaked cashews in the frosting mix for some oooommmph...Thanks!!!!!

    Hi Dillon and Reebs, i have made this yesterday and after soaking, finished it this morning with the frosting and strawberries. This is indeed very, very tasty.
    I used buckwheat flour instead of whole wheat and used oat milk instead of soy and it has turned out perfect.
    So as u suggest in the video, i’m letting u know that it works 😁
    Also, i am wondering, do u have a standard amount of servings for your recipes? And if so, what is the amount?
    Maybe i am missing it being mentioned 😬
    Thx for doing such awesome work to help people get a healthier lifestyle!

      Glad you enjoyed the recipe! We do not add serving sizes to our recipes because everyone is different and eats different portions.

    Thanks for the recipe. I used coconut flour and it had same effect like yours. I used date powder instead of dates and used almond milk cos I’m allergic to soy milk. Bro that was a cool one. Please continue doing this and it’s your style and actions in the video that makes me try your recipes. Thanks again. Kay

      Did you try it yet? I recently started using tigernut flour which is GF and buttery like almond milk. I'm going to try this one with that flour

    It looks yummy, and for me it needs to be gluten free. Looking forward to any that do make it with some other gluten free flour. I am not a pro baker so experimenting rarely goes well for me. Glad to see the three of you are doing well! I have the cookbook already btw. Its great!

      A lot of the GF WFPB recipes I have used in the past will use oat flour! Especially for desserts, that is what I would try first.

      This recipe really is soooo good! Any plant based milk will do just fine, it does not need to be soy! Enjoy!

    This looks yummy. Should you use plain soy milk? I’ve noticed that soy milk doesn’t do well when cooked. I drink the vanilla flavor which is loaded with sugar 😓. I know, defeats the purpose of SOS free.

      You can use your favorite plant based milk. The cake will still taste just as delicious with vanilla soy milk! Hope that helps, enjoy!!

    You guys are great! Thanks Reebs for your creation! Can’t wait to try this! Wish it didn’t have so many dates, though, cause I need to stay away from too many dried fruits (seems to affect my triglycerides)
    Do you think I could do half the dates and then use stevia to make up for the subtraction of dates?

      Hi Joan! You can always lessen the amount of dates and do what works best for you! The cake will simply be less sweet with less dates! We don't use sugar or sugar substitutes, but I am sure it would work perfectly fine! Hope that helps, enjoy!!

    Looks great! I happen to have a new box of mejool dates. Can you give me an equivalent quantity for your recipe? A cup? More? Less? 🙏 thanks 😊

      Hi Victoria! About 2 deglet dates should equal one medjool date! So I would use about 12 medjool dates in place of the 25 deglet dates. You can always add more if you would like it to be sweeter! Hope that helps and enjoy!

    ME! I want cake that isn't made with oils and sugar.
    Does the protein conent of the milk choice make a difference?... as in, can i use oatmilk?

      Hi there! You can use any plant based milk you prefer! Oat milk would be wonderful in this recipe! We simply list soy milk because it is what we always use!

      Hi there! Only a few of the recipes in our cookbook call for nuts. For those recipes, a great substitution would be any white bean! Hope that helps!

      It didn’t turn out very well. Cake was not spongy and didn’t absorb the liquid. I will make 2 pans of 8x8

    If one were to use three different milks, say Soy, Oat, and Cashew, which do you think would be best for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, leche? 😁

      Oh! Or maybe I'll just use TJ's Soy Beverage for the 1st, Edensoy for the 2nd, and Westsoy for the 3rd. 😆

      Hi Susie, you definitely can! I would use 1/2 cup of Date Powder for the cake and slightly less than 1/2 cup for the frosting! You can always add more to make it sweeter as well! Hope that helps and enjoy!

      So glad I read comments, it answered my milk ? and my medjool date ? 🤗 I'm making this Saturday for 9 SAD eaters and me (I may add extra sweetener 😉). I looked up the local grocery store's Tres Leche and there must be 50 ingredients, most which cannot be pronounced!! I'll report back on how it all turned out.
