I know y’all probably dont want to hear this but the Horse Creek Gallery is owned by a generation old family friend down the street is an old ice cream shop/ drug store that was my great great uncle Harold Boedeker’ shop as well as the family diner!
I've lived in Dubois for 3 years and the fishing is amazing. All of the local rivers here are stocked on a yearly basis, so fishing is always fun! Come on out and experience one of the last remaining great western towns.
I love these guys, I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jeramie and Noah. They are experts at all things fly fishing but most importantly, they know their audience and truly care about their clients! So glad to see someone took the time to highlight and give credit to these modern day river cowboys of the American West.
I spent 3 summers in Dubois. Two of them working the fish hatchery and another at the CM Ranch. My wife grew up there. This video really takes me back to familiar views.
Tom, part of me really wishes you’d tell everyone that the only fishing in Wyoming is on the north platte, but it’s such a well done video I’ll refrain from rude comments.
God do I love it. I used to drive thru Dubois on the way to YNP to flyfish every year. I promised myself I'd stop here to fish sometime, but the out of state fishing license fees were absolutely thru the roof (last I remember well over $200+!).
I mean that’s fair but also they didn’t give any super specific details and it’s fairly common knowledge that the wind river and surrounding waters have good fly fishing.
That little juvie bull hanging with the cutties was a cool sight. Sitting there eating mayflies like "next year I'm gonna be able to munch all these other turds taking my food" haha!
Man I hope heaven looks like this the scenery is beautiful and these videos are a God send just now as we’re in lockdown over here in Scotland 🏴 no fishing until we beat this virus it breaks my heart but I love watching all these videos of the fishing in the USA and Canada so stay safe all you guys and tight lines when it’s over ✊🇬🇧🏴🇺🇸🎣 God Bless.
Enjoyed the video alot. I am originally from the Olympic Peninsula and just seeing the river and trees covered in moss on the river bank are just screaming to "come home". Great photography. Caught a few in the salt chuck years ago but never in the rivers. Thanks
These rivers look like they are here in ICELAND 🇮🇸 ❤❤❤ Size and clarity. BUT...we normallydon'thaveas many trees thought. But you can find that 2 if you want. 😊😊
That is some amazing fish. I am getting ready to do my first fly fishing trip to Rock Creek River Montana at the end of September 2020. Can’t wait. Just learning fly fishing but I already love it. The action of the rod. The technique it takes to entice the fish. It is fishing at its purest form.
Good day to ya sir. Great video and some outstanding trout. May I suggest a trip to the Black Hills. my father and i started going there back when i was 10 and he taught me to fly fish those streams now we continue to go every year and are passing the tradition on to my son's. We hope with how things currently are that the camp grounds will open back up at the end of May into the first week of June when we plan to be there. The walk in area below the deerfield damn is outstanding for brookies and browns with a grasshopper pattern or even a nymph pattern. We spoke to a few college students last time we were there that were doing some research and needless to say there are some monsters in that stream.
They don't teach you guys about the fragility of trout? What's that net made of? Sorry if my language a bit harsh not my intention. Try the miracle mile . . .
Nice video. I've fished the Snake in Grand Teton and had a wonderful time, but I've never been to the Wind. I live in the Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana. Thankfully our Governor has realized that fishing is a great way to decompress during our "stay at home" order (as long as you maintain your distance from others) so it is still allowed. I was catching 16-17" cutthroats this past weekend (late March) on #16-20 mayflies on 6x tippet in the small water upstream of where everyone else was fishing the Skwala hatch. It was tough to bring them in, but if I went to 5x I wouldn't get a bump. The water was that clear.
That makes sense. The governor of Maryland decided that the best way to stop the covid19 spread was to kill all the trout in our local rivers. And he is a Republican! Go figure.......
Love the area! I'm from N.Idaho and fish alot on the St.Joe and Cda river! Lots of Cutties and great small stream tributary fishing!!! So cool. Great vid!!! I love the longer vids too! Its much more relaxing, and with a high stress job, this is perfect to watch!!
The small streams near me are lined with dense tag alder and full of deadfall trees. I know they're loaded with nice fish, but it's tough to cast in a phone booth.
Hello from UK. Epic video. Just love it. Thank you. I've noticed you did not have a wader on. Didn't your feet get wet? What sort of footwear / pant would you recommend?
I have fished the Thermopolis region of the Bighorn river, and I can attest to the size of the cutthroats in Wyoming. I'm moving to Montana and plan to fish for a week or two in Wyoming on the way. Awesome scenery, very little fishing pressure, big trout, and friendly people. Most under-rated trout fishing in America IMO.
Another great video Mark and Tom! However, there are some nice brookies in the that river system. Did you catch and release any that were over 13 inches?
Sorry had to comment on one thing. If you catch it in Yellowstone it’s a Yellowstone cutthroat and it you catch it in the Snake river it’s a Snake river cutthroat.
@@newflyfisher Because of you I will not be able to sleep till then. I'm fortunate enough to have my best friend own property down there. Thank you again for this great video. :)
Are the Trouts all natural or are some brought in every year?I live in Tyrol and here every year they bring young trouts in from fishfarms. It looks like you have much more fish than we have.
@@skydogx4 I'd prefer to carry my .40 Glock with lots of heavy hollow point rounds. I want a storm of thunder to use because of the panicey reaction I'd surely experience with a charging grizzly.
Thank you for not naming the streams. You should all have been carrying bear spray though. Guides have been increasing every year there and you used to go without seeing others all day. Thank you for pinching barbs.
Dude talk about the perfect day… fishing with Mark and Tom.
Hell yea Dubois is where my mom grew up! Been there countless times and never get over it😍

Just amazing and beautiful. The whole experience. Thank you for letting us come along. Those kind of trips are what most fly fishermen dream of. 👍
i believe thats what heaven will be like..endless beautiful cobblestone mountain steams to fly fish
I sure hope you’re right!
If we're lucky
Every man will his own kingdom, mine will have a few trout streams for sure🙌🏼

Great to see the old guys like this Tom fellow get into fly fishing for the first time
Yeah he has a lot to learn

These videos are so well produced, and Tom Rosenbauer is a class act. Excellent video.
Ryan Caldwell Breathtaking scenery!!! It almost looks too good.😂🎣😍

Only 100$ for a yearly and 14$ for a daily.
I actually am here now and it is even better than you can imagine. The locals absolutely despise this video though.
I mean that’s fair but also they didn’t give any super specific details and it’s fairly common knowledge that the wind river and surrounding waters have good fly fishing.
Wow .. amazing country, incredible fish.. on my short list!
Good fishing. I love it 🐾🐾🎣
That little juvie bull hanging with the cutties was a cool sight. Sitting there eating mayflies like "next year I'm gonna be able to munch all these other turds taking my food" haha!
That little fish was actually a brook trout. No bull trout in these rivers
What a place! Best video in ages with incredible scenery and great trout👍🏻
Richard Gill Truly epic episode! I think so too.😁🎣

This must have been shot late July... water level seems really low
THANKS TOM 💯
Wow! Amazing country.
I've got to visit Dubois now.
Great video. I love your channel. You guys are so respectful of the trout and love your fish handling. Outstanding job. Tight lines 🤙🏼
thank you , i am learning so much from your videos. your making me a better fisherman:)
Glad to help
Great show, beautiful scenery, and of course amazing fish! You sure can’t ask for a better time on the water.
Collin Smith I agree! Great stuff😁👍🏻🎣
Nice video, fantastic river and fishes, such a fishing paradise Wyoming is, congrats from Spain
What a smashing brown! An absolute tyrant of the river
That water is sick!!!
Any flyfishermans paradise 💙🍻
Tom your sunglasses tan line is cracking me up 😂 Sorry, man. I do the same thing every summer.
They don't teach you guys about the fragility of trout? What's that net made of? Sorry if my language a bit harsh not my intention. Try the miracle mile . . .
I grew up catching cutts in my native CO. In my opinion they are the prettiest of the true trout since brookies are actually a char.
They are beautiful like Brook Trout and totally agree!
You've never seen a real Rainbow or Golden.
I love fishing.
Unreal video guys! One of your absolute best. y'all landed some bears man. SOLID vid!

Like the gun! Is that for bear scaring?
Haha the bears there will eat you for holding it
what would a good set up be for salmon fishing ? i have a 5-6 weight now but i still new to fly fishing
When you can walk a creek that would require only a rig, a handful of flies and a old pair of hi-top boots - that's the essence of fly fishing...
Look at you trying to get somebody killed. These rivers demand ankle protection. These are loose boulders that move and shift every season.
3:09 that's about the most American thing I've ever seen yet.
I used to fish the Bighorn at Fort Smith and the saying was "You are standing where you should be fishing."
Netting where he could be fishing. Beautiful video however.

Great Stuff! Thanks. Where did you fly into? Casper? Or was it cheaper to fly into Denver and drive up?
Mark and Tom had started in Casper because they did a show on the North Platte River. Then they drove up to Dubois.

Fly into Jackson or Riverton..The drive to Dubois area shorter...unless you going to fish the "Miracle Mile" north of Casper

If a guide nets your fish does the guide get credit also for landing the fish if the fish was a state record fish?
Have no idea David, something to look online in the state records rules for.

September 2019
Why was Noah armed? Grizzlies?
yes

all dry flies i believe
What kind of equipment are you using
