2 of the strongest guys in the world teaching a 36 min squat tutorial….yes sir!
Best tweak I ever made to my squat technique was a wider grip and actually tightening my back vs a close grip to hve a false sense of tightness
absolutely. major shoulder pain if my grip is too close.
First time I've ever heard of this. I purposely grip very close, but perhaps I'll give the wider grip a chance.
@@samvu4133 you have to consciously tighten your back, but it’s so much better IMO, especially for your shoulders and elbows. Wide talon grip FTW
Ill have to try this, ive always assumed narrower was better.
I'm gonna try this today my close.grip was to save my wrists but now my shoulder feels tweaked doing it so I'll report back with a new grip appreciate the comment
The Deadlift Tutorial gave me like +20kg. Time to try this now. You two are so great at these. Can't wait for the bench video. 👀
Exactly why I’m here! Deadlift rose like 50 pounds last program I’m looking to do the same with squat next time around
Deadlift went from 545 to 585. I had more than I thought. Currently doing doubles with 600s. Technique is a game changer.
Can’t wait for v5. Running back v4 for a second time currently and am absolutely murdering numbers. I appreciate you guys
How much total you gained after v4?
@@arjunsiwach7855 man sorry for the delay
So my numbers were 335, 225, 405, but this was at a body weight of 200
I cut down to about 175 and after the 12 weeks my numbers were 350, 235, 425
I probably could’ve pushed my squat and dl 5-10 more pounds but just wanted to be safe!
Anyways best of luck my brother!
@@52smoke wow. Amazing bro. I am in the 7th week of V4. Great results till now and i am enjoying my workouts
One very important point I have found that helped me build a 405lbs squat at 15 years old, Is developing your own unique routine everywhere from where you grab the bar, get under, and actually executing the squat. If you pay attention to Jamal and Rondel, you will see that they both have their own unique routine to the squat. These are great pointers and you should take them into consideration. But from my personal experience, having a routine that you do every time you squat really helps guarantee gains. This does not just apply to the squat, but Bench and Deadlift as well.
I consider myself an overall intermediate lifter but I'm basically a newborn when it comes to squats. I've always heard lead with your hips when dropping into the hole and raising up did create that back hinge for me that you guys demonstrated most of the time but the whole dropping with your quads and hips evenly or even just leading with the quads just made something click for me so now I'm excited to get back in the gym to try it out. Thanks for this video.
My biggest thing for me in my squat was narrowing my stance width to shoulder width, very similar leverages to Chance Mitchell, and getting a ton of vertical elbow drive
No doubt the best Squat Tutorial with the Ledge himself❤
Thanks for the thorough tutorial
Best advice I’ve been given: stand up harder 💀
thank you thank you, helping keep us safe
Really good work guys. Thank you!
Thank you so much 🙏🏿
Another GREAT tutorial from two lifters who are definitely among the World’s best in PL’g. Thank you both for sharing some of your valuable time with the rest of us 🙏🏽
How the hell does Jamal fit into extra small knee sleeves?
I was like damn I got mediums with my bird legs I guess I’m going XS next time 😂
my squat feels so light now. thank you!
finally wait is over❤❤
Waiting for bench press tutorial👀
3 step rule is awesome. Never thought about walkout in depth, just know when ive walked to much.
This is absolutely amazing - thanks for the knowledge guys! :D
5:13 “I squat in heels” in the most British accent ever
Great tutorial, nice work gentlemen.
Im going to try this make perfect sense
Let me know how it goes!
@Jamal Browner I have tried it this morning, I have to say it made a big difference, and I feel more stable and confident. The 500 lbs was hard for me, and I moved it like it was nothing. Many thanks for your viable information

Breathing and Bracing - 13:49
Right before my 3rd heavy squat day 👌🏻💪🏻
I just did my first powerlifting meet at 15 yrs old 195 bw. Squat-465 Bench-275 Dead-600. Learned it all from you. You are the GOAT
Wtf that's insane in a few years u could win nationals
15!?! Wtf? I’m 15
Bro I feel weak now my numbers are:
Squat: 140lb-worst lift
Bench: 140lb- very advantaged
Dl: 260lb
Would love a bench tutorial!
those red 650r’s are so insane 😩
Awesome video
Amazing video! But I cannot accept with min 26, this good morning squat is an effect of too weak quads (doing high bar or front squats to get a stronger low bar squat) and/or worse ankle mobility. Easiest way is to try to improve ankle mobility because you can easily proof that impact, then your bar path is automatically better above mid food. If you still have problem improve your quads and especially doing pin squats, totally game changer for improving technique. I always do my first 2 ramped up sets as pin squats to better activate the squad.
This was really a game changer for me
Good job !
for sure!
Sweeeet!🤙🏻
This tutorial helped a lot! But how do I keep my wrist from hurting once I unrack? I really don’t want to use wrist wraps is there something I’m doing wrong for unracking?
Great video, but I have to say with low bar (at least for me) Hip Drive is everything once coming out of the hole. The posterior chain is so important for me when squatting that way... Along with the brace. I rarely rely on my quads anymore. Probably only for descending which I do add some high volume, low weight for patellar tendon health.
exactly what I thought too!
thank you
Very helpful 💪
Hi, what about the warmups? Could you do a video about squat warmups?
Tiger hunting tutorial with Rondel
why u are shooting in low lighting🤭🤭

Do deadlift, bench and military press aswell.
They’ve done deadlift already
@@mjpalumberi1 Thanks man missed that video.
I don't do low bar cause it hurts my wrist but even on high bar my wrist still hurts at some level. I need help to not hurt my wrist i would be happy if you reply on this comment to help me
Love from India 🇮🇳
could you make video about bench technique?
Free game 😤
Tagde bande ( powered people)
Great and useful tips ! Tho for whoever edited this video please don’t let there be such a big difference in volume between transitions and the talking/tutorial sections. Actually kind of annoying
Right on time🕺🏻
I implemented the grip and walkout changes and it felt great. I could feel my quads fatigue alot more than they used to. The problem I'm having now is now on my descent lower body feels less stable and shaky probably bc I'm pulling the bar down alot more. Anyone know any ques or changes I could make to feel more stable on the descent
Think about spreading the floor and going back up even before u hit the hole
i don't know what you are doing with your knees but don't spread your legs. Just let your knees move forward and push from the hole. If you spread your legs and knees intentionally I think it can cause some balance issues.
@@nicokorkiamaki2991 generally people "spread the floor" to get their glute med activated which helps stabilize the legs. I wasn't trying to say shove your knees out.
Little mistake at 7:56, 'highball' xD
Is there a certain weight number on your sbd where it is recommended that you begin to use a belt? I’m currently at at 245 bench, 385 dead, and 315 squat but I haven’t used a belt. I’m looking into beginning to use one but I’m not sure if I can still progress so I rely on just my core strength or begin to use a belt. Any feedback is appreciated. Thank you
buy one bro your good
bench tutorial?
O’fugg my hand potisioning is waaay to narrow hahaha
Not necessarily
Do Bench!!!
Do you have any tips for soft knees at the lockout of deadlift?
Where do i get the app?
If you got the program you’ve seen this 👀
My advise guys:
Do 20 reps breathing squats with the weight u would be able to do for 10 reps, at the end of ur workout.
You say that quad is the main mover for the weight but many powerlifter says that hamstring and posterior chain the are the main mover and any powerlifter should focus more on hamstring more than quad
They say that cause they do low bar super leaned forward squats, they basically turn it into a good morning. When u look at the best squatters(john haack, russ orhi, olympic lifters) they all use quads and more upright squats
Hamstrings should act as a stabilizer rather than a main mover, the man movers for squats are going to be glutes and quads.
@@MrSpicabooo so Layne norton Stan efferding Ed coan etc are squatting 600 pounds this way, They preaching sitting back and use the hips to squat their is no right way to squat some people break at the knees some at the hips some do both it doesn't matter
Me also I squat sitting slightly back and then my knees break of I don't do that I get knee pain and maybe it's because I have long legs and short torso but I prefer leaning over and using my posterior chain to squat
But my quads are so weak I can feel it without doing anything sad is I train so long and hard religiously
