The point of the salt rock is not to get rid of the nutrient, but to get rid of vomit sickness. The nutrient loss is just a consequence of using the salt rocks
@@kriggo1 yeah thats what the salt rocks have always been for, but i dont think ive ever seen someone use them and just adding a detriment to using them seems ill-advised

Depends on how cheesy you want to be, if female dinos can gestate eggs without needing to pair up and the eggs give that much nutrient then you could pick a small dino that grows fast like Hypsi, gestate a bunch of eggs then go leave your body somewhere slightly remote and return with the dino you want to play, eat some eggs and enjoy 300% growth rate for quite a while unless the eggs go bad very quickly. Either way you will have 300% growth rate at the start. Also seen people whisper about gestating eggs, lay some and invite people, keep them fed until they can start eating themselves, lay another egg that they then eat for 300% growth. Idk if there even is anything stopping you from eating your own eggs since I have not bothered playing this hoard test yet myself.
Saying your stomach drops faster isn't quite accurate. Say you fill your stomach fully with 10 food and then 5 min later your stomach is size 20 because you grew. The food no longer scales with stomach size, so you will be at half full stomach minus regular food drain. This will look like it's draining faster but in reality your stomach is outgrowing your food.
@@KougaArtThere is some interesting math at play where if a player has a higher % growth rate, their stomach will grow faster. So keeping the stomach full and the buff high are at war. Higher growth = bigger stomach faster = food looks like it's shrinking faster. IDK if the diet buffs are also growing in capacity with growth rate or not, but it seems like this system is aimed at evening growth out by making things harder the faster a person grows.
How bad would you say the hunger decay rate it? I like a fast decay rate for herbis since food is abundant and they should eat a lot, but carnivores should be more lenient since they hunt and don't eat as often.
i'll have a proper answer after i play both sides. Will try teno, which is a mid tier, and then a smaller one like pachy or galli. Then maybe Troodon, Ptera or Cera. Fow now i don't have an opinion
I think it should vary by niche. since Cera can eat anything dead rotten or not and smell it from super far away they should have a quickly depleting appetite while herra being a sort of ambush hunter have a slow hunger rate. It's probably just gonna be based on species size though.
pretty much irl, herbs hav ea digestive system that can eat shitty awful plants, but plants are everywhere so eat em up! Most herbs like that have multiple stomachs, loooong intestines, and large stomachs just so they can nibble on lettuce. Meat is much better, but it runs from you, hides from you, and sometimes is willing to fight to the death. Specializing in meat allows you to feast adn thrive, if you GET the kill. Omnivore have no special gut/metabolism change, so they can eat both, but cannot truly rely on one or the other. And, in most cases, omnivores NEED to eat meat every now and then or else they get deficiency problems. So ya make herbs eat more, make more plants, carnis have hunger based on size and playstyle, as well as a general 2x capacity, to simulate the feast n famine that they do. Omnivores could be more interesting in that they have to eat 50% meat 50% plants or somtehing... Perhaps change the % based on each dino, but have %. Either that or make it super diet-wide beneficial.
I wonder why you don't need to be paired to make eggs? I know parthenogenesis is a thing but it doesn't really make sense in the game's context and the fact that there's already courting and such 🤔
actually in this case the female prepare the eggs then need a male to fecond it to make the nest and lay them, not quite what happen in nature but it remove the need to protect the nest for long period of times, so it's a bit easier, it was otherwise way too hard to do.
Judging by the numbers I think overall diet bonuses got massively buffed. So probably a single new dot will be as strong as 2 old dots. The drawback is that it's going to be harder to top up.
@a_kazakis I don't think it will be though. Spawn in at water access or east plains or south and there's guaranteed full diet all day long. I play on a 225 server. Yesterday there were 218 players at South plains
Please forgive my ignorance, but with the 300% growth boost, what makes this amy different than modded free grow servers? Does this now not bring even more of an issue to servers, as everyone will be essentially immediately fully grown so killing on sight is going to be more if a problem no?
It’s a lot harder to maintain and with the stomach scaling change, afk bush growing is going to be way harder so theoretically juvies should be running around a lot more
@KougaArt 120% is so stupid though. That's a RIDICULOUSLY short growth for MANY playables. I can see this causing so many issues on unofficial servers with rules etc, as people are just going to have the mindset of oh well I'll regrow in 45 minutes. And if you go water access, south, or east your 100% guaranteed to keep a full stomach and full diet
the bonus you get seem to be dependant of your percentage of each nutrients so by lowering one you could up the buff of another ... but i think it will be mostly usefull later on

picking eggs huh? Do I hear oviraptor?
A lot of wonderful clarification!
So are the female dinos completely asexual now or can you gestate the eggs and still need a mate to lay them?
The safety of male ceras everywhere depends on the answer to this question xD
Still need a mate to make a nest and such I believe
still need a male to make a nest
And the male skin will still pass into the next generation? ( e a skin do macho passa para os filhotes?)
No you still need a male to mate with in order to nest

want to add, eggs only give a lot of diet to babies, they give minimal to adults (like 2%)
