What I liked is that Tyson is a genuine wrestling fan, which makes his commentary even better.
He called the STO!! Dudes a G.I.A.N.T, global icon and national treasure!
I just wish his Mic or how he was speaking was a bit louder, you could barely hear him but you can tell he was having a great time with this match 😂
I was dreading listening to him actually, didn't think Mike Tyson and commentary sounded like things that went together but I was completely taken aback by how knowledgeable and passionate he was 🤣 fair play to him, hope AEW keep using him because he clearly loves being there, actually wish he'd called the entire show.
Dont think he new were he was. to much green
All these years later, to see JR n Mike together is something
The fact he can wrestle again makes me smile so damn hard
Honestly, seeing him take bumps like normal and just working a good match had me a little choked up. I'm very excited to see what the future holds for Shibata.
What happened to him? What made him retire from in ring wrestling?
@@spongeyspikes09 He hit a headbutt spot in a match against Okada legitimately. He started bleeding from his forehead and when he got backstage, passed out. Turns out he had a hematoma and blood was collecting in his brain. Had to have emergency surgery and was told he can’t wrestle

@@Wtfninjasfromhell oh damn, but seeing from this he's been medically cleared to wrestle again?
Seeing Shibata back in the ring is a literal medical miracle.
I just hope he won't headbutt his opponents after this
What happen to him?
@@BayushiGemma concussed himself in a match back in 2016 by delivering a hard headbutt to Okada, skull to skull contact
@@JustJulyo That now has to be THE dream rematch in professional wrestling. I would rank it slightly over the eventual Omega vs Ibushi match. Heck, if they can't do it in New Japan, they can do it in AEW. But Shibata winning the IWGP championship would be simply the greatest.
@@JustJulyo more than a concussion. He had a brain bleed.
Tyson putting over Shibata is something I thought I’d never see.
If you don't know Shibata this mans nickname is "The Wrestler". Silent killer, stern presence, fantastic matches. He just grows on you, and hes one of the toughest and a legend at this point in his career. He was on his way to becoming IWGP Heavyweight champion until a brain injury forced retirement. Miracle he is back!
Cool lol😂
He was also trained by two legends. Funaki first, then after both were destroyed in MMA, he learned under Sakuraba, The IQ Wrestler, the Pro Wrestling Messiah, the Gracie Hunter.
He just got jobbed out on his first night and now I dont wanna see him anymore, why would I care about a wrestler that lost his first match in the company
@@petebagwell6666 oh hi mark

Watching Katsuyori Shibata perform in AEW was such a special moment. He was one of the best NEVER Openweight Champions in 2016 and being a mentor to the LA Dojo Young Lions whom evolved into incredible wrestlers in NJPW & New Japan Strong.
Yep really talented guy unfortunately he wrestle Orange

Mike Tyson calling an STO! Damn, I already respected this man. Now its through the roof!
He's been around wrestling sinc3 the 90s
Shibata, the legend. Whenever I see him wrestle, I can still hear the sound when he headbutts his opponent. Crazy shit
You can definitely tell Shibata held back on his strikes in this match. Nonetheless, welcome back Shibata! Hoping to see a more aggressive side of him when he faces Bryan Danielson
I think he'll let loose. Bryan and Shibata are total maniacs when provoked.

Orange Cassidy wrestling Shibata while Mikes Tyson calls the match. Shit is literally what you get if you keep hitting random in a wrestling game and I love it.
First time watching a shibata match tonight. Wasn’t disappointed. Comes across as a total badass🔥
Check out Kazuchika Okada vs. Katsuyori Shibata, that was a Great match
@@mikereyes2488 definitely will be after tonight along with others👊🏽thanks man!
Shibata vs Tomohiro Ishii 🔥
This was just a warm up, just wait till he fights Danielson.
Nice, im glad you enjoyed. If you got the time you should check out The Shibata matches from any of his post 2006 G1 Climax run especially the ones against Tomohiro Ishii, its the kind of match that'll make your chest & back hurt from watching it!
Dude. AEW just gave, Shibata a platform to perform on. Where he doesn't have to kill himself in the ring, and he doesn't hurt NJPW'S legacy. This is is awesome 👌
Oh mike is straight tripping 🤣🤣🤣 he looks like he was having fun!!!
Shibata and Cassidy mirroring the taunts of the other was awesome! Lots of energy and fun in this match!
What a match! Shibata just eating the first Orange Punch and cracking his neck as if saying "Is that all!?" Amazing work!
This match was crazy good
Given this man came back from near death, he can really still go. Both of them put on a great match, and that shot in the end with Shibata with the glasses was classic.
What happened to hom?
Subdural Hematoma. Let's just say he headbutted a dude so hard you can hear it around the arena, and continued the match for another 20 minutes
@@aydensf2734 repeated usage of headbutt during his matches in late 2016(?) until Sakura Genesis 2017 where he headbutted Okada during an IWGP Heavyweight Championship match. The headbutt caused internal bleeding to his brain resulted him collapsing backstage RIGHT AFTER THE MATCH. He had to have emergency surgery where it was believed, they had to open his head and remove his brain from it.
@@ajangeles1091 Not like that. He has a hematoma in the brain so the doctors inserted a shunt to drain all the blood that is pooling there.
@@ShadowMoon878 Didn't they take a small piece of bone out of his skull to help loosen the pressure and replaced it with a cadaver bone?
What a time to be a wrestling fan. Sami Zayn touches gold anywhere he goes, now I see Mike Tyson color commentating Cassidy and Shibata. Im so happy omg
Its absolutely insane that this wasn't the main event, this was the best part of the night.
Bro seeing Mike Tyson on commentary for a match between Orange Cassidy and Shibata is like a fever dream. So random
Such a treat watching Shibata wrestle again. I never get tired of his matches
Watching shibata in the ring again, against orange cassidy from all people is really heart warming, he has come a long way considering his injury, hopefully we will se more of him!
Shibata vs Konosuke would be the greatest match in pro wrestling history
See I hadn’t thought of that but now you’ve said it, I really want it.
@@cherryt8478 Add Logan Paul to it as well. Lets not forget about Angelico.
Mike Tyson done a good job on commentary the match with Orange Cassidy & Shibata had a really good match. Definitely safe since this is Shibata's first match back.
This is his 3rd match, he wrestled like 2021, early 2022 now this
Shibata wrestled Zack Sabre Jr. and Ren Narita before this in Japan. Orange Cassidy is his 3rd opponent since returning to wrestling.
I especially liked "The Abominable Stretch". lol

Oh man, how much I missed you wrestle Shibata. Can't have those intense matches like you used to but this match was still very entertaining.
Mike was actually enjoyable to listen at commentary as well.
He may just be still trying to ease into it yet. Don't want to go too stiff so soon.

Before Forbidden door I couldn't even imagine this match happening but man I hope we get to see OC now in Japan.
I'd say it's very likely he shows up there eventually, NJPW Officials are apparently very high on him after the Ospreay Match and Shibata specifically asked to work with him. Can see him in next years BOSJ, maybe even NJC or G1.

Shibata looks awesome with Orange's shades on.
I ❤ the smile on Mike Tyson’s face!

For those that don't know shibata, you're going to be in for a real treat..... He's a true legend, that I proud to see wrestle orange Cassidy
This match was awesome. Shibata hasn’t lost a step.
This was an insane match, saw Shibata for the first time, and I'm now his fan.
Shibata's sell on that last punch was a thing of beauty!
I don't want to hear bitching and complain about the booking decision of this match.Shibata the man who had a brian injury and had to retire for 5 years got to wrestle again.I'm happy he got the chance to have this.
Shibata is one of the best. I hope to see more of him on T.V.
I feel nothing but gladness knowing that Shibata is still able to wrestle after everything that happened in 2017. It would be lovely if he had another run soon - even if it's only 1-2 matches a month.
Love the fact that the comments here are wholesome for the most part, this was a great moment. That slap from Shibata when they were sitting was a really nice way for him to basically tell Cassidy "OK, now we knock off the silliness, it's time to wrestle" and Cassidy is able to keep up when the time for jokes is over.
Looking forward to seeing more from Shibata, it's incredible that we even get to see him perform these days!
This was heaven on earth. Both won. I look forward to an eventual alliance, I love how AEW has made connoisseur True School wrestling accessible and appealing to mainstream North American audiences.
So happy that Shibata is wrestling again. Now, I want to see a Shibata/Danielson match.

Have Shibata wrestle Danielson next that would fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
To say that Shibata almost never wrestled again after he almost DIED this match was awesome!!
6:05
Man I love shit like this. Delivers a lot of story and character with so little.
shibata and mike tyson in the same arena is a culture shook
Decent job on commentary by Tyson!
For the ones who don't know who Katsuyori Shibata is, he came along alongside Hiroshi Tanahashi and Shinsuke Nakamura. Went to MMA, came back to NJPW, solidified himself as an upper-midcarder/main eventer (his NEVER Openweight Championship reign was the best in the belt's history, in my opinion), and he suffered a subdural hematoma in a match against Okada. If you thought Bryan Danielson's return was unlikely, Shibata's was deemed impossible.
Who would’ve thought we’d see Shibata back to wrestling while Mike Tyson and Jim Ross commentate. What a universe we’re living in.
This match was amazing! Enjoyed Shibata so much and Cassidy is always great in the ring
That whole thing was a fever dream. Grateful we got it.
Shibata was so amazing in his AEW debut, I wish he could've won, but there will be time for that, still amazing to see Shibata healthy & well in the ring.👏🏽👏🏽

Absolutely inexcusable that this was not the opening of AEW Dynamite.
This was an intense match! Orange Cassidy been having banger matches
Happy to see Shibata back in the ring.
If he never got injured/hurt he would have held the IWGP Heavyweight Title and multiple G1 Climax winner!
Doubt it considering his departure for MMA pissed off a lot of the higher ups, which is the reason he never got out of the midcard
Shibata is a LEGEND 😄😄😄

Thank you AEW for booking such great matches. It was great to see the legend 'Iron' Mike Tyson on the show doing commentary...it wasn't long ago that he was in a wheelchair in very precarious conditions.
