I always enjoyed this episode.
Excellent story, thanks!
Smart, mature , and incredibly well done.
Excellent recording quality!!! Sounds like it was made yesterday. I actually met the writer, James Gunn, when I was in high school in 1978. He was a very nice, soft-spoken intelligent man and was giving a lecture on science fiction at a science fiction convention at our local community college. One thing he mentioned was that he actually liked Star Wars! I have heard this story before and, yes, that ending hits you when you're not looking. Should have been a Twilight Zone episode (although there WAS one similar --- I won't give the name, why spoil the fun?).
Excellent! 🚀
One of the best episodes in the series. The writing is imaginative and anticipates themes, e.g. government conspiracy and coverups, that were ten years ahead of its time, at least as far as mainstream sci-fi went.
The main character sounds like the voice actor Alexander Scourby...he was famous for narrating the entire Bible on Tape. He was the General in the TZ episode "The Last Flight"
I wish I was around when these played on the radio.
This is where the got the screenplay for Capricorn One from.
Good stuff
This was really good. I did not see that ending coming!
You gave me the clue at the 11 min mark.
Wow, love it.
Cinfy, What happened to the "Frederick nope" message??? On looking, I cant fiind it Im puzzled.???
If you were refewrring to my original comment about "collecting money" At 85 my perspective of humanity IS somewhat jaded. LOL

Wow well that was a surprise!
🌑 Thank You!
