I met my first Horde today .. was unintentional .. I fell down this side cliff and landed in some bushes .. when I was gonna press the stand up button I heard them .. I stood still then like at least 100+ turn the corner and all walked passed my pitifull bush at least 10-15 feet from me.. It took a good 10mins for me to move again .. I was a good moment !! =3

If u speed rush to this part of the game right when u can finally get the butcherer, do it. This way you can also unlock the craft recipe for the Superior Wooden Baseball Bat, the best melee weapon before going to the last part of the map. There’s always a wooden bat at Boozers rest shop, free gas and a boatload of supplies/herbs. Doing this & farming animals @ hot springs, means that you’re better off sending survivors u save to Copeland’s because he’s the hardest the get to level 3. Also, bring the drugs to Hot Springs to get the encampment to level 3 VERY early. None of these other skills matter that much for animal farming.... so I’d say this is the way to go 100%. If they make NG+, that’s what I’m doing immediately. The SMP9 sidearm for killing 4 hordes MELTS deer from the bike, combined with running one over, do a u turn, melt one and run the 4th one over. Honestly in the beginning for the nail bat it’s sometimes easier to to make a new one instead of wasting parts to repair. It only cost 1 nail 1 scrap and one bat to make instead of 9 scrap when down to 20% durability.
Melee is by far the most cost effective skill line for combat outside of hordes. Melee combat is all timing if your good at timing dodges and have a maxed weapon you could kill a horde with a melee weapon its just kiting enemys and knowing when to hit. Maybe a challenge for a future video setting up nearby scrap for repairs would be key.
Exactly using your guns should be if you really have 2 in overwhelming situations because ammo is not that easily accessible you will spend time running looking for police trunks
Horses for courses friend. What you neglect in your Ranged first approach is that you can't access any Ranged weapons worth a damn (apart from Xbow) until you've done a LOT of trust mission grinding. I'm 55hrs in and only now am I bothering with the Ranged skills. Stealth kills earn more XP, headshots with the Xbow too. If you boost stamina with Nero injectors you can usually run and hide from even hoards. I actually went up the melee skill tree first and don't regret it at all, though I try to only use melee weapons as a last resort. Even with human enemies, with high stamina and the dodge roll reduced stamina cost skill, you can usually avoid serious damage from gunfire. Always more than one way to skin a cat eh?
This game is the best game I have played in a long ass time. Personally I am enjoying it more then I did rdr2 I don’t think it’s a better game technically but I am enjoying it more because it’s a perfect game for me.
I actually found myself using melee weapons extensively especially against the human enemy. Get in close to them and they choke and then you can chop them up in seconds. Their melee attacks are slow and easy to dodge. Thats the beauty of this game though. Theres no wrong way to play, the choice is up to you.
I focused on survival and melee to start. Got all the skills from those that I wanted, then moved on to ranged. Ranged combat works fine even with zero upgrades. I didn't even use focus much until late game. The skill that lets you carry double the items feels absolutely crucial, so I worked my way towards that first. Then, the two melee damage upgrades and any skill that reduces stamina consumption or increases regeneration are valuable. Gun upgrades just aren't critical early in the game. The bike repair skill isn't necessary at all. You'll have plenty of credits to repair your bike in camp, and you most likely won't need to manually repair your bike all that often. I beat the game and only a handful of times did my bike even get below 50 percent. It was only when a sniper shot me while I was riding. No mention of the animal meat skill. I didn't think it'd be all that valuable, but it actually makes it to where you get 3-5 pieces of meat per animal instead of 1, so it's actually worth taking after you've got crucial skills unlocked. You'll encounter a lot of animals in the second half of the game, and that's close to 100 camp reputation per animal kill on some of the tougher wildlife.
This. Exactly my strategy. I am now at Iron Butte map and didn't feel the need to add even one skill point into ranged. Defeated my first hordes with attractors / bombs (with uprgade you can carry 6 of each!) and basic ranged combat easily. At the beggining I wanted to go with meele in order to get the trophy (kill 200 enemies with weapon you have crafted), but it was so efficient I don't feel the need to let it go now :).
1.05 patch just went live an hour ago to fix some issues people are having. Haven't experienced any bugs, framerate drops or pop ins since launch, one if the lucky ones i guess. The game is great and immersive and still enjoying!
Right after the patch i went to a marauder camp and i could walk through cars logs ect not sure if it was just that camp but it was fucked died 3 times bc couldnt take cover every bullet went through objects ect
I think melee tree is much better at the beginning cause the melee weapons everywhere while the weapons are weak at level 1 also the ammo is hard to find 🤓
my dude is normally on point but i disagree, stamina is the most important thing in this game and u wanna build that up as much as u can bc u will be running and rolling a lot, in fact i think so far that i have put the least amount of points into ranged with stamina being my top one and melee second.
I have only ONE skill unlocked in the game and took out the enire Horse Lake horde without firing a shot, using attractors and molotovs. I only needed to kill 3 stragglers afterwards using stealth and never used the water tower. If you want to go in all guns blazing like Duke Nukem then good luck to you. This game allows for more refined and intelligent stategies than blowing everything away with a shotgun or semi-automatic. This isn't CoD!
After playing through 15 hours, this game is good. It's not "super amazing", but it's a solid 8/10 Some women at GameSpot & IGN got Triggered because it's a game about a straight guy without SJW bullshit
He says Melee skill tree is the worst, however if you get Vicious Cycle (first row, ranged skill tree), it’s game breaking for the first half of the game. After a melee attack, ranged weapons will deal MASSIVE damage. Baseball bat has longest range, u can pick one up at boozers hideout every time you sleep. I don’t believe I ever fought a bear or breaker before Iron Mikes, the 3rd encampment. But by this point you’ll have plenty of NERO points, hopefully the SMP9 (2nd best sidearm) by simply taking out 4 hordes. Since the game doesn’t give good weapons for awhile, I don’t see any point in going into ranged, then survival, because melee and vicious cycle kinda break the game. Especially when you take out a few ambush camps and can craft the superior baseball bat, then u can unlock the one that makes melee weapons do more damage, the one allowing you to repair melee weapons. Ignore Juice Up and Talk Shit, Get Hit because you won’t be swinging twice in a row w vicious cycle. Hell, even melee attacking a breaker, ranger, bear, etc, then using focus, you have like a 4 second window to unload on them from basically point blank. Literally game breaking, and I did it this way on Survival
my order of upgrading skill tree is totally different. Mine is : Melee > Survive > Range I managed to clear numbers of hordes without upgrade any range. Most of the time i sneak and use cross-bow headshot. but more i love is hitting bears with baseball bat with blades. Roll and hit, roll and hit, just like playing bloodborne. It feels good. For tackling horde, bombs!
You know what I love about watching jor raptor's videos? That every time I do something in a game he says that the other thing to do is the best option 😒
Can you please make a video discussing in depth the combat system, both the melee and the gunplay? Hehehe. Just a request from a humble fan of yer channel.
You’re the one who made me love the open world games more than I do such as FC and AC franchises 😍 You make them more interesting, also I love how you focus on how grindy these games are with your tricks and tips videos, Keep the good hard-work man ❤️🙏
I finally got to play it yesteday and I quite like the game, havent got any major glitch or bug in those first few hours, story and narating is cool, graphics very nice, still getting used to bike tho which is not good as it only takes like two hits to burst in smoke, but I hope that upgrades will have some impact on that. Overall howerer good game so far.
@@Onthepissmylord As I said im still getting use to bike thats why I sometimes make turn too big or not big enough, im sure collision problems will go down with more hours I will put into it, but at the begining of the game when you are not good in driving, having your bike go in smoke after 2 to 3 mistakes is pretty harsh imo. The fuel that goes down as if the bike had a hole in it is another thing. That said I never got stranded with empty tank or my bike stopped going because it was too messed up. I allways repair it and tank it fully when ever I can. I just said this is my only major problem with the game right now and it is, your advice drive better will not help me in it very much.
I've haven't seen a single wart in this game...what the hell am I missing? Great video man it helped me decide on how I was going to go through the skill tree.
I've noticed that I like stealth and melee and only start shooting if I get caught so I've been doing survival and melee and nearly touched shooting skills
Fastes way to farm ears is go to saw mill as soon you get your bike from manny you can go to all places of the maps with riding some offroad route, also you can go to place and get 2 level 3 weapon and best melee weapon
Disagree with Ranged first bc when you finish Survival first, you can sneak way better, carry way more Craftmats, have the Ears to Ground Perk, Monkey Wrench Perk, Double Plantmats which leads to more Money/Ammo/Reputation and so on. So i'm definitely most happy with Survival first and don't need to shoot always and use more Stealth which is my Playstyle anyway though :D
I've been going back and forth between range skills and survival skills. 2 points into range then 1 into survival then back to range. That has seem to be a good set up you get a bit of both worlds as you progress I've also been farming freakers to gain xp faster in early game. Only melee skills I have at the moment are the field repair. Its great to have since you'll be able to repair melee weapons for when you do need the melee attacks you'll be able to keep your melee weapons.
Really enjoying but struggling with the audio bug... it’s really hard to play when you can’t hear anything around... might have to side it until fixed.
And I played the game and there is no customization other then the bikes. Doesn’t really bother me though because his outfit is really badass looking and wouldn’t change anyways.
The skill that allows you to do more gun damage after a melee hit has been a life saver. Early guns have crap mag capacity and do terrible damage anywhere other than a headshot
Awesome vid. New playing this game and I love it. Wasn’t 💯 sure what to unlock for skills but this vid is going to make my game play much smoother moving forward
Melee first imo bc there's not enough ammo to always use guns. Plus the amount of freakers that attack you in missions is annoying. I maxed out melee first and is amazing just 1 hit melee kill most enemies
I'd love to be able to play this $60 game I just picked up but the audio bug makes it unplayable. Happens every few minutes and restarting the game takes forever. Hope the studio patches asap.
I have the game on Steam (PC) and just noticed something: the "FREAKER! ALL DEAD" plate on Ranged page & "Flammable Liquid" sticker on Survival page are both not in the PC version.
for anyone watching this now so much time later, a great melee weapon you can get really early is the fire axe on the fire engine in the mission where you save lisa. outside the building with the rippers. it’s a one hit kill but has kinda crap durability so make sure you have the field repairs skill
I got the mg45 my first visit to Copelands camp. I was just chilling on the catwalk half afk smoking a joint and turned around and there lay a dead guard that had it
I’m really enjoying the game. It allows you to play at your own pace and take your time. You aren’t forced into anything that you can’t prepare yourself for. I sincerely hope the devs are working on fixing the awful frame rate drops that occur fat more frequently than they should. Once again, thanks to Sony for a solid and very entertaining single player game with no MTs.
morningstar Another thing I’ve noticed as I have progressed into the game is that the clipping increases. The main character clips through scenery and dead animals in some cutscenes (skinning animals etc). Whilst not as annoying as the frame rate drops, this does take me out of the immersive experience and makes me facepalm. Gameplay and story-wise, the game is outstanding, but it does have some glaring technical issues that need to be addressed and patched.
Jor raptor is the story a good story in days gone because I'm still excited for days gone and I'm planning to get it because I don't care about the negative reviews about days gone

It seems that nowadays, games are more common, generic . They will beat forever these current games even though I enjoy them but really flavorless, only some games obsessed me in my entire life, sonic on megadrive, morrowind on xbox, final fantasy 9 on ps1 and mw2 on xbox 360 among others.
Thank you so much for this have watched your videos for years and always find them the best for what to do in games much appreciated. Definite thumbs up.
I’ve been looking for those encampment jobs but I’ve only gotten one for some reason. The one I got was for tucker and Copeland has never asked me to do anything, except for the main missions of coarse. Do I need to just keep advancing in the story and Copeland will eventually call me? Or what? Lol need that trust to build up my bike dangit
Only hordes are hard on hard setting. I use melee more often and smoke throws then rush in for stealth kills then melee. It all depends what you good at. I am not a casual and love a hard challenge. If you not good and quick thinking on your feet got guns and health. This game is to easy hard is like normal.... Great game but audio mute bug keeps happening sick of it...
Eh I went for ranged and melee first, survival there's only a few you need, you don't really need to see people through stuff just search and mark them lol
Once Playstation 5 hits i hope they release the game in a remastered version so we can try and keep stable FPS during a big horde zerg had some framerate issues here and there, i love this game and no idea what people were saying about the story i actually like the story, i am mostly a PC player and prefer keyboard and mouse for my shooter games, but i have gotten used to the controller now so i do not waste that many bullets anymore still waste more then an avid console player i am sure of that but i am not as useless as the first week or so of the games release :D Here with the latest patches i have not had that many horde related frame rate drops had some at crater lake when it rained heavily and the water also caused the muddy ground to react to it so to speak, but overall this game has been a gem, i enjoyed every bit of the game had some issues with aiming at the start and as i played it improved weirdly enough :P. The game is good enough to go for game of the year if you ask me, it had release issues with lag here and there and some random npc bugs most of that seem to be gone now so with in 14 days of release they have had a lot of patches and fixed the game so that it is in a good place now.
Ok for anyone thinking the best way to get thru this game is to focus on one skill tree.. is just wrong. There are a lot of passive skills in the the other trees.
I started the game and your videos are helping alot, But I have that horde Horse Lake Horde, first It didnt spawn then after couple of saving and loading it did,But now when I defeat it it doesnt count (Like sending the msg that the horde is defeated and trust increased) and even on the map it doesnt count...any way to fix it?
You need to actually go up to either Tucker or Copeland and if there is a job available you will be able to hold square and select the mission to increase your trust and get some money as well.
can someone explain why deacons outfit changes and if you can change it back after it does bc i rly love his first one and don’t wanna progress the story right away if i lose it forever. also if the reason is a BIG spoiler then nvm but if it’s something tiny then idc

@@ProbyWaN1337 upgrading helps alot, and ofc theres several settings you can tamper with..
This game constantly has amazing moments happen randomly. I rented it for a day, now I'm buying it.
I focused on getting "executioner" first in melee tree and im glad I did. The breaker boss fight that happens ended instantly
T M ammos easy to find, every cop car has some
I went melee too. Level one guns suck but level 2 👌🏽🔥
Matt Perry Yup but overall they are not as widespread as the melee weapons
Golden Marshall level 5 are my goal not 3 nor 4 because I am satisfied with my MWS AR
This game is honestly so good!
Green thumb and butcher should be the first skills to get as that would allow you to gain trust faster... and so get things cheaper and faster.
Useless skills, it takes hundreds of ears, meat, or herbs to get the trust and credits you get from one mission.
my dude is normally on point but i disagree, stamina is the most important thing in this game and u wanna build that up as much as u can bc u will be running and rolling a lot, in fact i think so far that i have put the least amount of points into ranged with stamina being my top one and melee second.
It's not "super amazing", but it's a solid 8/10
Some women at GameSpot & IGN got Triggered because it's a game about a straight guy without SJW bullshit
Yes you right the game is good i don't listen to ign and gsmespot they is mad the character not gay i enjoy the game to
my thoughts exactly. a 7/10 game not a triple aaa masterpiece but still a good fun game to play
The character was suppose to be gay? No wonder the wife thing seems kinda lacking in my opinion, I’m not that far yet but I’m diggin it so far
Nicole Pulsifer he wasn’t supposed to be gay
That explains my rough time with the beginning of this game definitely getting that ranged skill built up now... Thanks
Mine is :
Melee > Survive > Range
I managed to clear numbers of hordes without upgrade any range. Most of the time i sneak and use cross-bow headshot. but more i love is hitting bears with baseball bat with blades. Roll and hit, roll and hit, just like playing bloodborne. It feels good. For tackling horde, bombs!
you want to upgrade the bike sooner than you think, if it's not fast enough during a certain chapter it can soft-lock your progression
Your meant to drive intelligently and manage the bike not flat out all the time as this kills fuel and creates noise.
@@PrototypeXII It is harsh I agree but when you get the hang of it you become death on wheels drifting over freakers left and right.
As always, simple, yet effective. Very helpful. Thanks mate . . .
I've haven't seen a single wart in this game...what the hell am I missing? Great video man it helped me decide on how I was going to go through the skill tree.
What a great game. Such a shame that they wouldn't make a part 2.
Damn I'm addicted to this game loving every minute of it haven't experienced any bugs that they're complaining about either
This game is dope af. The most immersive and believable zombie game.
So i'm definitely most happy with Survival first and don't need to shoot always and use more Stealth which is my Playstyle anyway though :D
i think jor raptors videos are my favorite on youtube
I've been going back and forth between range skills and survival skills. 2 points into range then 1 into survival then back to range. That has seem to be a good set up you get a bit of both worlds as you progress I've also been farming freakers to gain xp faster in early game. Only melee skills I have at the moment are the field repair. Its great to have since you'll be able to repair melee weapons for when you do need the melee attacks you'll be able to keep your melee weapons.
The soundtrack is amazing
Really enjoying but struggling with the audio bug... it’s really hard to play when you can’t hear anything around... might have to side it until fixed.
Really late but I just put the voice audio on 10 and everything else like 6 or 7
I noticed that the outfit changed? Are you able to change back to the normal cut or no?
I don’t understand. Everywhere says you can’t change outfits so idk.
And I played the game and there is no customization other then the bikes. Doesn’t really bother me though because his outfit is really badass looking and wouldn’t change anyways.
there is free dlc so it's fair to say outfits can change like in Spiderman
You can’t change outfits I beat the game and the only time you do is when you lose the cut but you get it back
Bottom line the outfit changes thoughout the story but you can’t change the outfit your wearing. The outfits change as the story changes pretty much!
Restart console one time and you should get rid of it for some time
Restart to a save from before you upgraded exhaust. That's what seems to be doing it
I have the game on Steam (PC) and just noticed something: the "FREAKER!
You mean the firefighter axe, correct?
I got the mg45 my first visit to Copelands camp. I was just chilling on the catwalk half afk smoking a joint and turned around and there lay a dead guard that had it
was waiting for this video! now, back to Oregon! ;)
Have fun!
Yep, I got a brand new ps4 and a brand new Days Gone is the first game I put in the drive. Frame rate drops are an issue in an otherwise great game.
morningstar
Another thing I’ve noticed as I have progressed into the game is that the clipping increases.
Its hell of a game now a days reviewer rush their reviews to standout
Good movies thanks for it. Buying game today
just wondering but can you wear that outfit whenever you want (the one at the start)
Carat change ot

0:47 Raptor, did you turn off the damn gravity bro? Lmao.
Super useful and informative vidja! Thank you!
This game is awesome. So glad I'm not the type to take advice from critics and rob my self of an amazing experience
Great right ;)?
@@JorRaptor Yup I'm loving every second of it and i have grown to really like deacon and boozer and there brother hood they share. Great game an great video jor
So i just killed my first horde and i was surely metal gear sneaking into that nero base they where alot tbh but i used my mind and i had a pip bomb and the item that makes fake gunfire and boom half of them dead and gone to the train and i started shooting at them like a manic with my gun that shoot every 2 or 3 sec then tossing movls then done the nero thing (man hordes are a nightmane for newbies)
Had to take a break from out riders so I got days gone having a blast do far
First make the melee repair, then focus on gun skills, and survival, and then again im melee
I’ve gone full melee skills and a couple of ranged, focus etc. no regrets. Don’t listen to this guy telling you how to play.
I just got the game 2 days ago it's a really amazing game I've ran into a bug not a big one but it drops frame rate sometimes
Thorn In Your Side Is A Good Skill To Get If You Like The Crossbow Because It Gives You A Chance To Get Your Bolts Back, Crafting Bolts Can Sometimes Be A Pain
The problem with that 1:28 is the amount of ammo you get. Not much. Every when you farm everywhere
Thank you so much for this have watched your videos for years and always find them the best for what to do in games much appreciated. Definite thumbs up.
Shoot-my priced possession is a ripper bat. 1 hit one kill. I baby that thing. Lol
Cheers for this buddy. Appreciate your efforts with all your vids. 👍🏼👍🏼
Thanks Ash :)
Yo, Jor. Is the jacket something that’s acquired later on in the story?
Yup. Kinda later on in the story
Haha i had no ammo when i had to fight the bear after saving the girl, so i killed the bear with a machete going around a car lmao
You sir are my hero lol I just threw Molotovs at it while running around the shore and parking lot.
The roll is your best partner 😂👍 I have killed 3+ human enemies with melee attacks lol bullrush is a good perk
Unlock some melee skills first. Ammo is too precious at the beginning not to.
100% my lil sawed off never has ammo and I hardly use it.
I use Melee mostly and I roll around and they can't hit me,aslo I increase my stamina, and if they catch you, they can't hurt you
Only hordes are hard on hard setting.
I focused survival then did a “every other perk point” method between ranged and melee
Thanks Jordan and your team excellent video
Thanks! :D
Run and shoot Breakers? NOPE! Hit twice, roll, hit twice roll, they never touch you.
Eh I went for ranged and melee first, survival there's only a few you need, you don't really need to see people through stuff just search and mark them lol
For me Melee and Ranged Skills must balance
Thanos has spoken.
Once Playstation 5 hits i hope they release the game in a remastered version so we can try and keep stable FPS during a big horde zerg had some framerate issues here and there, i love this game and no idea what people were saying about the story i actually like the story, i am mostly a PC player and prefer keyboard and mouse for my shooter games, but i have gotten used to the controller now so i do not waste that many bullets anymore still waste more then an avid console player i am sure of that but i am not as useless as the first week or so of the games release :D
Here with the latest patches i have not had that many horde related frame rate drops had some at crater lake when it rained heavily and the water also caused the muddy ground to react to it so to speak, but overall this game has been a gem, i enjoyed every bit of the game had some issues with aiming at the start and as i played it improved weirdly enough :P.
The game is good enough to go for game of the year if you ask me, it had release issues with lag here and there and some random npc bugs most of that seem to be gone now so with in 14 days of release they have had a lot of patches and fixed the game so that it is in a good place now.
Free patch that increases the resolution, af, lod, shadows and stable 60 fps would be amazing if the PS5 does have full PS4 backwards compatibility.
I’m focusing on human enemies right now not hordes so melee all the way.
Awesome Tips And Tricks video JorRaptor bro 👍👍
Ok for anyone thinking the best way to get thru this game is to focus on one skill tree.. is just wrong. There are a lot of passive skills in the the other trees.
I started the game and your videos are helping alot,
But I have that horde Horse Lake Horde, first It didnt spawn then after couple of saving and loading it did,But now when I defeat it it doesnt count (Like sending the msg that the horde is defeated and trust increased) and even on the map it doesnt count...any way to fix it?
Holy zhit only now after ranking up to rank 2-3 with diff camp and gatting diff wapo and upgrads this game start to be fainly fun
Dropped a like for you JorRaptor bro 👍👍
How do you do more missions in camps like Hot Springs and CopeLand
U just have to stay in their regions and wait for the radio call
Staying in the region of the camp will increase the chances of the radio call
You need to actually go up to either Tucker or Copeland and if there is a job available you will be able to hold square and select the mission to increase your trust and get some money as well.
can someone explain why deacons outfit changes and if you can change it back after it does bc i rly love his first one and don’t wanna progress the story right away if i lose it forever. also if the reason is a BIG spoiler then nvm but if it’s something tiny then idc
You get the outfit back. Just part of the story.
I met my first horde yesterday at the Nero site near that train cargo wrecked just chilling there when I was done with that site I was going to get my bike then I saw them casually walking near my bike good thing they just left and went back to the train cargo but I'm still not going back there with my weapons right now.
This was really helpful. Nice one
So your advice is UNLOCK all skill levels? Wow... Glad am here
the review was spot on.

Days gone is awesome, don't trust these reviewers anymore. Play it yourself but don't judge it after 5 hours because it's a long game.
Very important video thank you!
I'm heading to gamestop now to get mine I hope its good
Man I love this game it awesome fun af good graphics I'm hooked cant turn it off luv it
It’s very addictive, way better than expected
Awesome game. But, is it only me and I'm doing something wrong, or do you have to play 100 hours just to get a few skill points. I think I've put about 7 it 8 hours in and only got 2 maybe 3 skill points!
