Om Lee Lozowick is one patient teacher.
Even I picture Cohen is so interested by the outer shape of things, how to build, make, do... Yet remains deaf to words about the radical commitment Lee evokes. And the fact the essence remains the same, and mere newer verbalization is required (33:11 and on). He's probably more of a spiritual discussionist, definitely a fierce rationalist and perhaps an "institutionalist", than faithful.
Thank you Lee for being a westerner and doing and helping do the work.
    Om

There are so many people unwilling to commit to the spiritual path... It takes 100% commitment to the spiritual path to be successful...

Actually a wonderful dialog! This is what the mind, spirit, soul is up against: ego versus the peace of the Godhead. Thank you Andrew for showing us that we are not the only assholes seeking the truth! And thank you Lee for your selflessness.

Very good to hear about the Guru principle. This is very true there is a Spiritual hierachy.
The True Guru is a transmitter of the Divine State through sighting of His or Her Body as they are in the Enlightened State and directly transmit this to you through Darshan (sighting of the Masters Body)
Adi Da is the greatest Realiser i have found who can do this.
Many people can talk about Enlightenment and Consciousness without themselves being established in that state for real as a permanent state .
Adi Da was a real Master who could do this.

I thought this was going to be a dialogue, yet, Andrew made it into a monologue. Sad. I would have loved to hear more from Lee, especially since there is little to nothing of this man on video and now since his death that's it.
Neither of them ever talk about our Sovreignty as Human Beings which has had me for years knowing that the guru/devotee relationship is deconstructing in general. We are Infinite, we are Sovreign & when we realize this in it's simplicity, we are Awakened to the Truth.

And this is the work that Avatar does; One born to it.Of course (considering this dark late time) He has mysteriously incarnated and done His uniquely graceful world work.

I'm amazed at how unimpressive Cohen is. Of all the spiritual teachers who have a relatively high profile, he strikes me as bereft of any genuine wisdom. He reminds me of students I've had in my college classes who have gotten a tiny piece of a discipline and start pontificating on it, mixing it with their own uncooked experience, and thinking they've jumped ten steps ahead of everyone in the class and the teacher. Their enthusiasm is endearing until we realize they can't listen to anyone els

The 'ground of all being' is really the 'service of all beings'. To explain, the surface of the earth is 'the ground' and 'surface' is 'service'. Obviously we should all be serving all beings.

Andrew wants spirituality without any surrender. Well, who among us doesn't? But he's made a career out of it.

I wouldn't agree w/ 'That we need faith and conviction' but rather a simple 'openness' and in a way a neutral innocent willingness to perceive. Source - God doesn't need our faith - our essence, Spirit exists and springs up everywhere, including inside us - whether we have faith or not. Our hearts beat whether we have 'faith' in them or not.

So glad Cohen has stepped down. So ironic that the so called spiritual teacher can be so not that, and so destructive to others. Yes, he is absorbed with himself. He seems to have to glommed onto Ken Wilber's lingo and tried to use it to prop himself up. Pathetic.

  • @charda01

I absolutely agree. There's some weird spiritual Darwinism lurking in a number of Cohen's comments--survival of the convicted, as in having conviction. A Course in Miracles recognizes human choice and freedom as essential, but emphasizes that all that is required is "the little willingness"--anything more, the course says, is just more EGO.

I'm amazed at how ignorant and narcissistic many of these comments are. It's as if an ant were commenting on human experience, they have no reality with which to compare and to comment on something they not only know nothing about and is lightyears beyond their own development/evolution. Then there's those who compare teachers/gurus "my teacher is better than your teacher" -- a version of "my daddy can beat up your daddy"… again a narcissistic and childish viewpoint.

interesting that AC takes so much more time to say something than does dear departed LL. Also interesting that what LL is saying about the need to have a master DOESN'T apply to AC: he spent meer weeks with Papaji and then didn't really see his "attainments" as really Papa's/Ramana's... Also, I believe LL was dying of cancer at this point, maybe even dying soon thereafter...

disturbing effects but also disengaging to hear once again Andrew trying to perpetuate his own holding points through meeting other sometimes truly awakened beings and talking out his theory of Guru principle.. It doesn't need to be conceptualised when you meet a true teacher, using all the right words Lee gracefully agrees but hints gently at Andrews edges Go in peace Andrew.

For heaven's sake, shut up, Andrew. Do you know what it IS to conduct an interview? Do you think the Zen master nurtures the garden like he was scrubbing his own skin? Translation: an enlightened person is at the very least, a gentleman.

  • @charda01

Cohen is certainly not impressive as an intellect (he's light years behind Ram Dass or Alan Watts or Ken Wilbur in the field of post-modern spirituality) and I feel no particular love energy from him at all. His energy feels self-aggrandizing, self-focused, narcissistic.
