I believe Cohen has misrepresented Tolle's teachings here. Tolle does not advocate the rejection of action in favour of solitary meditation; Tolle actually encourages engagement with the world but with a deeper awareness of what is happening as it happens. Such a state of mind can be immensely practical.
Andy Cohen really knows how to talk. And talk. And talk. The talk ia about the mystery of being and becoming. Andy Koan loses us in a maze of talk until we are confronted by our own inner voice that chatters endlessly. This is point where we meet our inner Andy. It's sort of like a koan. Or a Cohen.
Oh boy, what alot of words, what a lot of ideas, what alot to keep the illusion that there really is a special me who has some thing special to do. Living is just Love in action, much simpler than Andrews unstoppable verbage suggests...
oneness and equality rationalised as knowledge and information... i live this by aplying me as the breath -here- no thought, and the transcendance is noticeable in awarenes., the awareness is still separation. praticaly one must live this process as self by self to self, realising being one and equal to all in existance. EVIL-ution the higher goal = separation... I am "HERE" as the breath as tool for no thougth... requires self discipline and self-will.
"a deeply rational teaching" because it could only be undertood with the rational mind to one who has completely missed the point of Eckhart's teaching/pointing. now i know why i was never drawn to this guy...
this is half an hour of ego-driven rambling. Cohen has no idea what is enlightenment is. how can there be a higher enlightenment, and a lower - it is one consciousness?!?
