My only complaint about this watch is that the numbers are not also illuminated. There is only a small illuminated dot next to it that does not last very long. It is hard to read in low light situations (for me). I am required to carry a pocket flashlight. Other than that, it is a great watch.
Yes, I think it would be a win if they were lumed as well. However, I do enjoy the daytime glimmer/reflection from the numerals more than I think I'd enjoy them lumed! 👍
It is. Just a single domed Hardlex crystal, so you see the distortion at angles. I'd love to see a bit more clarity with Sapphire, but I've been happy with this Hardlex!
The specs are to be expected for this level of movement, but that said, most of my Seiko entry level movements come in at around +10 seconds per day. This actual watch has an average of +5.6 spd right now, all time record keeping.
A watchmaker can adjust it pretty well. I had one done and it’s running about +3/day now. Whether you want to spend $100 to fine-tune a $190 watch is another story. I had the crystal swapped and a strapcode bracelet installed at the same time, so I figured why not. 💸
Yeah, unfortunately Seiko 5's are all automatics...it's part of the "5" pillars of that collection. I'm not sure if they make a quartz version similar to this??? They have sooo many watches in their lineup!

fantastic watch, and I get a lot of compliments too for its looks. I have the NATO strap in sand colour. Highly recommend it!
This one was a complete surprise for me. I mean, I was attracted to it enough to buy it...but once I got it in person, it instantly became a favorite!
Nice.
That glass doesn’t look like the Hardlex crystal that comes from the factory. It has a more fishbowl look to it.

Hacking and hand winding?
Yes, it's the 4R36 movement. See full video here: ruclips.net/video/M_CjdhVJ4bI/видео.html
@@WatchWitt Thanks.
It would great if it was in 42 mm
42mm is my ideal size, and I can say that this 39.4mm wears nicely! I think because it's pretty much all dial, with only a small fixed bezel.
Which model is this?
In description....but SRPG39. This has quickly become a favorite in my collection! See full video here:

Love the watch, hate the accuracy specs

I love the looks of this, but automatics aren't worth paying for. A quality quartz would be better.

Of course it doesn't cost much. It has a mineral crystal.
One of the downsides of lower priced Seiko's, but it gets the job done!
Under 200 :(
They've gone up a little...I think around $230 now.
Bought one last week it cost me $325.00Ausy dollars.
This is one of those watches that is making me fall in love with Seiko again!
Plain Jane👍
Yes, Plain Jane in in a good way...with a bit of bling from the indices and handset. GREAT everyday wear!
