This is my favorite dirt trax episode. I just really like the idea of loading all your gear on the machine and spending a couple days out in the woods with everything you need packed with you. Maybe one of these days ill try it. That is the best looking 4 seat maverick I've seen and I really like all the little details that make you realize its built for more than just a day ride...
I like the theme of this video, and may seem crazy but also a video on snowtrax about off trail camping. I can’t always afford to do it, but it looks like an amazing experience.
this is why i love these side by side's these vehicles were created and design for this camping , exploring , adventure ETC.. you get the point why noeed a big offroad vehicle like the jeep wranglers when you can use this and you can do this for a week camping
4wd in the bush like that is a pretty awesome weekend, I can't even remember the last time we even that. I'll be getting the rzr turbo S soon so this waiting is pure torture
Wow, a dream of mine to go on an expedition like this. Hard being in the south with small parks. I have rode Windrock with both SXS's. I had a ton of fun, but looking for more adventure. Love nature and solitude and also love friends. Hopefully an opportunity comes to do just this. I ride a can am 1000 Maverick and RZR 900. Love options! Thanks for such a great video and base for a dream.
I would like to hear dirt trax do a review of off road GPS options. I currently use a tiny handheld GPS and it just isnt that great because it is small and hard to read (and hard to use with gloves on for snowmobiling) I would love to see a comparison of GPS units like the lowrance you installed on this rig vs other options, and even what models you prefer and why. that would be very helpful in deciding what to purchase
GREAT video guys. I truly enjoyed it from start to finish. I would really like to see you guys do more builds like this....as in purpose built builds. The Wolverine would be a great candidate, as well as a Teryx and Pioneer as they are geared towards the trail rider/adventure seeker/explorer. Again, great job....insert jealousy ALL OVER THIS POST lol.
Argo 8x8 with tracks! No mods needed....:) lol AND it will go through more of what that over priced Jeep would ever consider going through. And YES you can drive them on the street. maybe not as fast but does speed matter when your in the deep woods? NO! Whats great about an Argo is that lake in the back ground could have been crossed with all of there gear on board. :) Let's see what that can do on the Rubicon Trail?
That thing is maxed out, the rearend is flat and looks like it's about to tip over... seems like a decent trail machine.. I would take some of extra weight off and put on a 6" lift.. do that and you'll be able to go anywhere!!
I've probably missed it, but have yall done a review on the 570 Sportsman. I cannot seem to find it. Also, not commenting on this XDS because of sheer jealously.
just saw an intemidator sxs thats made in america with some interesting features. would love to see yall do a review n give me yalls opinion on it. in case i dnt xomment tomarrow happy thanks given!
Hey guys, I was wondering if you could share your knowledge of the new law changes in Ontario regarding SxS road usage. My impression is that it's only allowed in certain municipalities, and that actual "road use" like a car/truck etc is still illegal. It basically allows you to wander where ATV's can already go. Any insight on this would be appreciated, because the horn, signals etc would be a great idea (and a necessity) for true road use.
Awesome rig for the rich guys to build. For the more budget minded I say go pick up a good used jeep wrangler unlimited(4 door) and build that for half the cost.
I have a 4 runner trail rig and a side by side is totally different. I use my x3 for things that my 4 runner can't possibly do. It depends upon your offroad terrain and what you feel is fun. Slow and easy calls for the 4 runner. Traveling from Az to Montana with some offroad adventures calls for the 4 runner. But a weekend in the dunes or high desert well that is all side by side. A day trip into the local mtns once again the side by side. It is all about what you consider fun.
hi i have problem with my 2015 maverick every time i pass 30 mph the check engine laght come on and i hear noise in the engine. i turn off the engine and back on.everything back to normal!!! where i came from we don't have can am dealer ........ i need help plz
there is a certain Point where i personally dont think that a UTV makes sense anymore...i mean the Maverick is SICK dont get me wrong! but seriously, for the Price this Thing probably costs, you could have easily built a Wrangler or something..
+Pe Peroni The trick is not to buy one outside your budget and truthfully if you are weighing its value over a jeep, then it might not be the best product for you.
+Dirt Trax Television i understand, the "price" itself wasnt actually my main point, but the purpouse application of the vehicle...someone Building a vehicle for Extended expeditions will most likely use a "car-based" vehicle, not only because of the Price, but lets be honest, because of reliability aswell...as good as the UTVs have become now a days, still the chances that a CVT belt goes wrong is significantly higher then a Jeep going wrong...but it must be said: i am no "jeeper" nor an "ATV-er", so i am just talking out of my non-existing experience, obviously i know i could be wrong (and most probably i am?)...anyway, i would choose that Meverick any day tho! just for ist raw awesomeness! Cheers guys, and what a great Job you did on that machine i must say..
+Pe Peroni you got one thing right, you're inexperience. if I built a jeep and a utv like this, there are plenty more places this utv can get to compared to a built jeep. mechanical issues are not limited to utv's. way more shit can break or bust on a jeep. there are advantages to each ride, it's what you want, where you want to go that should determine what you build and how you build it.
Will Newberry - Will, with the two 5 gallon fuel cans you can double the range of the stock machine. As far as exact mileage it all depends on how you are driving it. I used this machine for an upcoming article in Dirt Trax and we did an entire day including road and trail riding totalling 135 kms (80+ miles) for $11.40 Canadian which is pretty awesome!
David Smith - yes the vehicle is for sale. Full description and price can be found at Terra Tech Off Road. www.terratechoffroad.com/vehicle-s-for-sale.html
Just buy a Goddamn Jeep and get it over with already. Half of it built in Alberta and the Rockies would have BROKE it in in 5 Minutes, I guess thats why you took it back to Ontario.

this is exactly what this machines were meant for. i really loved this video
Exactly the kind of sxs and tour I want to do. Very well done, Really enjoyed this.
I like the theme of this video, and may seem crazy but also a video on snowtrax about off trail camping. I can’t always afford to do it, but it looks like an amazing experience.
Thanks for making an inspiring series. It has given me a lot of ideas for my own build.
this is why i love these side by side's these vehicles were created and design for this camping , exploring , adventure ETC.. you get the point why noeed a big offroad vehicle like the jeep wranglers when you can use this and you can do this for a week camping
Sitting at work... this video is killing me!!! Nice video fellas.
4wd in the bush like that is a pretty awesome weekend, I can't even remember the last time we even that. I'll be getting the rzr turbo S soon so this waiting is pure torture

I so love this show. Thanks
I'd say this is more of a truck than an ATV
+AjackLee4 Definitely not an ATV. It's a SXSXSXS

lol You turned a MAV into a jeep, wouldnt a jeep have been cheaper? this by far the best episode you have done, breath taking views my friends
You need to do a Polaris scrambler Baja build and race a few races. Like the Parker 250 mint400 Vegas to Reno
I wish that was my job
This year can you guys do an epic mud build
That's a great idea. Love it.
Argo 8x8 with tracks! No mods needed....:) lol AND it will go through more of what that over priced Jeep would ever consider going through. So,how much did Coleman pay you for this
hahaha
That thing is maxed out, the rearend is flat and looks like it's about to tip over... seems like a decent trail machine.. I would take some of extra weight off and put on a 6" lift.. do that and you'll be able to go anywhere!!
Unit has been sold! Thanks for looking
How did you come to choosing the can-am for this build?
love the vids man . been a fan for 20 years it seems
You guys actually brought a Coleman?!
I have a suburban build I wanna do that reminds me of the Can Am. No top, roll cage, camping 4x4.
You are the Best
I've probably missed it, but have yall done a review on the 570 Sportsman. I cannot seem to find it. Also, not commenting on this XDS because of sheer jealously.

poor guys another awful day at the office
Are those Rigid Rock lights amber or red? I know in part 4 you guys said red, but they look more amber in this video. Confirm red?
Awesome rig for the rich guys to build. For the more budget minded I say go pick up a good used jeep wrangler unlimited(4 door) and build that for half the cost.
or better yet an xj for 1/4 the price. I agree with you. and plus in a jeep you can drive it on the highway.
I have a 4 runner trail rig and a side by side is totally different. I use my x3 for things that my 4 runner can't possibly do. It depends upon your offroad terrain and what you feel is fun. That's street legal?
+SlapShot Gaming You can run short distances on the roadsides in Ontario. New legislation recently passed.
What did the range and fuel consumption end up being like?
Will Newberry - Will, with the two 5 gallon fuel cans you can double the range of the stock machine. As far as exact mileage it all depends on how you are driving it.

I have no idea what I just watched!!!
Can I have this?
Why didnt you took 4 people? Cool ride btw.
+AliveEST It's take. Just saying. And probably so they wouldn't have to bring more thing's with them. Especially on long ride's.
+Kyle Fitzgerald My mother language isn't english so
AliveEST Oh well understandable. Sorry!
+AliveEST Don't forget they had a cameraman and maybe a sound guy too.

Wow
wow talk about high end camping lol
+Tim Thornhill "Glamping"
+Dirt Trax Television hahaha! lucky!
thats more like $45,000 with all the aftermarket gear
all that for one low price of 30k
It's honestly about 60
$30k just for the Can-Am Maverick
$30k for the upgrades to the maverick
$30k in camping gear
= $90k !
MrMrsregor no f'n way. 90k isn't right.
No fishing gear? SMH.
Must be nice to be rich
Just buy a Goddamn Jeep and get it over with already. Half of it built in Alberta and the Rockies would have BROKE it in in 5 Minutes, I guess thats why you took it back to Ontario.

How did you come to choosing the can-am for this build?
