I was 9 when I watched the Zelda Past & Present video you put out 10 years ago. I was just getting into Zelda at the time. For the last decade, you’ve inspired my imagination with videos like these and only now have I realized it’s been a decade. I just wanted to thank you, because it’s been amazing to watch how far you’ve come, how much you’ve grown, & I just wanted to let you know that you truly have made an impact on people, myself included. Twenty out of ten, incredibly well done.

I started playing Zelda when I was 12. My dad bought the game for me and told me. This is the 1987. That's like come on man I want to play Mario dude. But I played it and I played it with him and I loved it and I fell in love with it. As the years went on I played every single Zelda game sometimes with him and sometimes dad just watched. During breath of the wild when it first came out my dad had cancer he can no longer play the game but he would watch me for hours play it always with a smile on his face. When I finally beat the game with all the DLCs and I got the motorcycle he was truly blown away. A month later I lost dad. Now me and my son play it and every time we do we think of dad.

I was stunned by the reincarnations, but I started to tear up when I realized their significance. Skyward Sword started the timeline, Ocarina fragmented it, and Breath brought it back together. No matter where their journey takes them, they will always find each other.
    I'm crying wtf

    • @jasperjavillo686

The idea that Ocarina of Time fragmented everything goes even deeper when you consider the fact it has the one iteration of the pair where you can extrapolate them as being together in any capacity. TP Link’s origins as the direct descendant of OoT Link and a rancher disproves any romantic connection. And if you believe the theory that OoT Link was a lost prince and Zelda’s brother, then they’re estranged siblings with no way of learning the truth and truly reconnecting.

"The air was clear and full, almost as if it had been freed from a long-lasting fog. The sky was orange, and in the distance, the sun seemed to be setting slowly. Birds chirped from the trees, and autumn-colored leaves fell all around him, perfectly complimenting the beautiful orange sky. Link took a deep breath and inhaled the fresh, clean air. Its smell was pleasant; It reminded him of the smell of Hyrule's lush fields on a warm spring morning, yet, also, it was unlike any air he had ever taken a breath of.
"So..." he thought, "this is peace, huh?"
As he stared out into the orange sky, he closed his eyes, and for the first time ever, he recalled each and every life he had lived. He remembered each up and down, fault and glory, and moment of happiness and sadness. It was as if centuries of memories he had completely forgotten flooded into his head like water behind a collapsed dam. As he remembered his long-forgotten past, he wondered why the Goddess had chosen him. Why had he been the one that was chosen to fight the Demon King time and time again?
He opened his eyes, staring into the beautiful thing that he now understood as peace. He felt at ease. Finally, he had slain the Calamity once and for all, and the cycle of rebirth for himself, Zelda, and Ganon had now been broken. Never again would he have to bear the burden of the Hero. The world was now free for eternity, and he knew that once this life was completed, his soul would finally rest in peace. For the first time in what felt like eons, Link smiled.
It was then that he felt a warm hand touch his shoulder. He didn't feel alarmed by this, but, comforted, rather.
"Link..." Zelda said softly, "...Do you remember me?"
He stared into her darling, green eyes, and as he did so, memories of what felt like thousands of years rushed to the forefront of his mind. He recalled the countless times he felt her eyes dawn on him in this way, and he cherished it.
He could feel tears forming in his eyes, and he tried hard not to cry. But, Zelda's warm embrace comforted him again.
"You did it, my Hero," She said, cuffing the back of his head, "The cycle is over... and now we, and the rest of the world, can rest in peace, for all of time... "

I'm blown away by how impactful this is!

When Zelda places her tender hand on Link’s cheek it was like her saying: “you have fought and done all this for me, no matter what we will meet again. I am here to bear your pain and will never forget you.”
Link closing his eyes brought a lot of comfort home to him as he knows that she was worth every minute of his sacrifice. He knows that she loves him.

When present Zelda put her hand on Link, I saw his ears droop with a sense of comfort and relief. It just made my eyes watery. The music fits so well too, it just adds onto the emotion its conveying. I have no words to describe this emotional masterpiece.

I love what you did to the composition, the colors matched the scene and each view added more to the emotions it was supposed to bring. So gorgeous how each reincarnation of link and zelda was put into view; "memories".
It brings a nice symbolism to it.
As if to remember each time line they were in.
Such tender, heart-warming feelings I got from this animation. Wish nintendo did this to them, their so afraid to show affection between these two it kills me. Atleast we got you to save the day!

I've been playing Zelda since I was a kid, different games have been by my side in different moments of my life. Seeing the incarnations from my favorite games of the franchise, closing in such a beautiful way is wonderful. Thank you for the amazing art you share with us.

This makes me feel the sadness. They been Fighting, and Protecting eachother for over 100+ years, and they go through their characters from each game from the timeliness following Botw. It's pretty nice seing this. Very heartwarming
Also all the friends and people Link has lost from Ganon throughout all the games, and the only person he has is Zelda. Having 1 important person is Less fun than having an entirely nation of people to meet.

Zelda has meant so much to me for literally my entire life. Everything about this is glorious. Seeing the different iterations, knowing that on some level, it’s always really just been Link and Zelda, two kids just out to stop an unimaginable evil. And they always do; in the past, future, and any other timeline. Their friendship/romance doesn’t even require that he speaks a single word. They’ll die for each other and for their kingdom.

I’ve probably watched this a dozen times or more, and just realized that I hadn’t hit the like button on this. It’s done now, but I had to comment and say this. You do outstanding work, but this piece stands above. Not for any technical value, not for any specific effects, it’s just simply that powerful. As somebody who grew up in Hyrule basically, this video encapsulates so much of what these games mean to me. Thank you for the work you’ve done, thank you for the incredible work you are still doing, and I can’t wait to see what’s next.
