This band never had a problem with the musicality, songwriting. Considering that, I love how direct and sonically violent this album is/going for the jugular.
@@_Stroda I'm sure I've read them say far more unkind things about Blodemn somewhere. Or maybe they just play down that whole era (even though their music was far more interesting than the boring stuff they've made since Isa).
@@EyeOfWoden I've only ever seen them talking fondly of the earlier material. It'd be a bit odd of them to play the first two albums in their entirety (and I wouldn't be surprised if they did the same with the next few) if they didn't think much of them.
@@Toshiro_Mifuneyeah,I was so dissapointed when this came out....I love Eld,song structures,Haralds very special drumming👍but then I stopped to campare the two albums in this is tokrens!!!!!
@@fredriklindberg7761 at least this one was still in the extreme metal category, and had some nice atmospheric and thrash bits. For me Frost-Eld-Blodhemn is a trilogy and i love all 3 albums. But yeah, ELD was very special and one of my favorite albums of all time. Clearly a case of "yeah, judge a book by it's cover" because i got it for the cover. i had no idea what i was getting into.
This is the band I've been searching for for years - Epic Viking Black Metal with keyboards and chanting vocals!! Can anyone recommend Similar bands? 🤔
I really like their black metal parts. They sound like Emperor not being shit. And the drummer is thunderous. But I hate those drunken choires, all that so called progressiveness, it's boooooooring. I don't need your 70's hippie crap in black metal.
@@TheJonathanDale My shit is classical music, but I really enjoy some rock acts like David Bowie, Captain Beefheart, Frank Zappa, The Beatles, The Cure and Black Sabbath. I don't really hate on metal but I guess I was drunk and disapointed with Enslaved lmao

Golden age of black metal
Golden age of "Viking" Black Metal ;)
When it became interesting.
Best album cover ever.
One of the best bands ever.
One of the best metal albums ever
The cover reminds me of Faith + 1.

Eld had a much better cover mate.

Another classic 90s album on Black Metal Promotion.
Amazing album and this band still goes strong.
Uno de los más grandes clásicos de los 90's!!!

So powerful . Thanks BMP for reminding us about this great BM masterpiece
This must be that Lofi hip hop everyone's talking about.

Mighty!
One of their best albums, and yet the band themselves have pretty much disowned it.
"Probably the best album we did in that era was either Blodhemn (1998) or Mardraum (1999)"

@@_Stroda I wish I could find where they stated their dislike for Blodhemn
Near as anyone can tell the only thing they disowned was the "Nema" demo, which is fair...

first time that i hear it, this is great!
superb athmosphere
I don't dislike their newer stuff totally but the older material is far superior to me. Especially this album.
they're very good albums, but difficult to sit and listen to, waaaaay to progressive for me. Eld was the band's peak.

Oh my god, this is even worse than eld. Why people over 15 enjoy this??
I'm 40 and love it. Been a fan since around the time of Eld. What band or artist do you enjoy?
