So the paper stays folded? This makes the book unusable. So it is rather a decorative object? I mean, it looks nice and definitely it requires great effort, but I still don't see the point...
Its a craft just like all other crafts. Most books used would end up in landfill. Book folding rescues unwanted books and gives them a new meaning. For most book folds the books can still be read. :-)

A used book has been turned into art instead of going into a landfill. Pretty awesome to give books a new life.
It is not in my taste, even though I appreciate skill and effort. But I think it's really lovely that everyone can find a niche.
