I totally agree. Small bikes can be beautiful and are loads of fun. The Suzuki SP125 I owned still holds special place in my memory, not only because I had to take it apart and clean every bit of it, then repaint and add new parts here and there but because it was just happy fun to ride. I never expected it to go 100 kph, so when I did hit that speed now and again, I was surprise. I never expected it to climb certain hills, so when I did, I was surprised. All those surprises just made it more fun and it brought out the kid in me over and over.
I love my bike so much, very suit on my city with tons of traffic jam, it's small and light and i upgraded from 100cc to 150cc. Never complain about the speed, it's awesome to ride. Honda GL100.
What a beautifully clean and uncluttered motorcycle this is, RACER TV. It looks like the details have not been forgotten on this little gem at all. :-)
Yes, indeed I like riding my small Kawa Estrella. Everytime I think about getting a bigger one, I go for a ride and come to the conclusion: "Naaah, it`s still enough!" Change the handlebars and the Estrella looks like a BSA Goldstar. Beautiful and such a joy to ride. Ride safe everyone!
Quoted from small engine bike builder Janus Motorcycles: "The spirit of motorcycling is best understood on a small, lightweight machine" - probably some truth to that. Enjoyed seeing these fine examples of small displacement cafe racers.
I have a soft spot for 125cc, it's the playfulness and the carelessness of these machines combined with beauty and design, it doesn't surprise me he's from Vietnam, i know a guy from China building 125cc Cafe Racers and doing quite well (Churchill customs) . Thumb's up on this video 👍😆 now i'm going to watch the video again hahaha .
I had seen several projects from Vietnam and Indonesia in the Internet based on small displacement motorcycles, all very interesting. I loved them all. I myself having gone from 650 cc motorcycle the Kawasaki KLR to the small 200cc Pulsar NS I can appreciete how much fun these little machines are. However to me was a great discovering this Duong Doan manufacturer who had not heard a thing until today and his wonderful works with small and utilitarian bikes. Especially the Suzukis GNs that are in abundance here in Mexico and in other countries where this type of motorcycle were used as working horse in several task such as pizza delivery. Great video my friend and last but not least the kind of project that I loved so much, being myself an average working man, means "on budget" kind of project. Un fuerte abrazo.
+Alejandro Monzon I knew that this video was going to be very useful for many people. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.
This channel is really crazy, very good, I'm addicted to the way it is, mainly because subtitles are in Portuguese and beautiful narrative, RacerTV purposely subtitles in Portuguese or RUclips does. Hugs from Brazil.
+Pedro Martins Thank you so much my friend for all your kind words. I couldn't make these videos without something to be understood in our language. :) Um abraço aqui de Portugal.
Thank you for providing another entertaining video. To my taste, it is the best one for a while. The designs have a more classic and elegant form especially the first GN 125. With small bikes, they do not have to contort the design around a motor which, in essence, is (unfortunately and usually) designed for engineering rather than aesthetic purposes. The bikes look great and you are absolutely correct in that they are more fun to ride. The bigger the bike, the more serious the fun becomes. Well done mate. The only criticism I have is that the tyres are overdone, both in function and in how they blend into the style but some people like this style at the moment. I prefer the original tyres.
+Thomas Elliott Thank you my friend. Just for curiosity, try to find the brand of the rear tire in the Suzuki GN125. You are not going to believe what is written. Lol. Cheers.
+RACER TV It would appear the maker of the tyres agrees with my impressions of them! Of course I am more of a gentleman than he is so I would never say what that brand is!
very nice to see that you made a (beautiful as usual) video about these little cafe racers. I'm a (not so proud) owner of a gn125 that is turning into somewhere between (pocket) cafe racer and street tracker. I'm desperate of having a bigger bike (personal and local economics, and a growing family are distracting me from that), but in the meantime, I'm enjoying this one, riding and (little)transforming it. The real and obvious drawback of mine is the top speed, especially because I have to do some little speedway between home and main city (Caracas). Thank you again for making this beautiful video and for not being something like "racist" about little one cafe (hehe). another veeeery important and fun thing to do with your videos is to read comments of people from around the world. cheers.
+giancarlexio Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective and for your kind words. I don't know if it's possible, but what if you try to install the GN 250 engine on your bike? The frames of the the GN125 and the 250 seem to be identical. I think It could solve your problems. :) Saludos
+Francisco Antonio De nada.
Your motorcycle, Racer TV's owner, is still one of the most beautiful ones I've seen, by far!!!! Cheers from Argentina!!!! Love how your channel keeps growing and growing. And don't be afraid of your accent, nor your voice dude, let us know you a bit more :P !!
+thesantiso It's been awhile since i saw you last time. Thank you my friend for all your kindwords and for your support. I understand what you said about knowing more about me, but think that the mystery factor keeps things also interesting. Maybe i will reveal something when Racer TV reach 100 thousand subscribers. :) Saludos.
Thanks so much for this! especially in Germandy you can get a 125ccm Driving license in the age of 16 - I also heard about other countries in the EU but they have a few other rules... looking forwards to other small cafe racers on yur channel. Best wishes from Germany!
+Wayne Storz Thank you my friend. I'm glad you liked. It seems German Rules about this matter are very similar to Portugal and most European Countries. :) Cheers.
Very nice - these have much of the look of speedway bikes. Lot's of nice bikes from low-cost, easily available material. Plus, you can really ride the snot out of the bike without worrying about getting arrested for speeding! Tudo bem!
Lol. Não esperava que fosse a minha. :) Obrigado amigo pela simpatia. Um abraço.
My first bike was a Honda CB600, and for my Cafe Racer survey I focus in bikes between 400-500, but something keeps making me look to smaller ones... and this video is a great example why. I just love this low vintage design. A must have.
I have seen this video several times, it's just great. beside my BMW I'm a proud owner of a CB250, it's a fun bike. Small bikes are great for driving around in Copenhagen. Just build a SR250 for my Niece.(It's the best thing ever happent to her) Small bikes are great fun.
+RACER TV l I really enjoy your videos! No matter how good the bikes are that are featured by the big cafe/custom internet sites - I always long to see and hear them in action like you do. I recently finished a low budget cafe racer conversion on a '81 Suzuki GSX250. I have some DSLR photos and a riding/action video of it. Was wondering how you source the info for your videos?
Dave Coetzee Thank you for your kind words. After ocasional researches on the web, i usually pick the bikes that i really love, or which has some special and unique features, that can be useful for most Cafe Racer enthusiasts. Very rarely i pick a bike that someone suggested. But you can try. Send me a picture by message on Racer TV Facebook page. Cheers.
Great video. Much respect to Duong Doan and his design. It was a Yamaha YBR 125 that got me back into bikes again. You are so right that happiness and small bikes goes together. Best regards
Lol. Um abraço.
Thank u so much Racer TV from my heart for this video😭.. my most inspired, favorite video till now in RUclips. i couldn't find any videos of 125 n 250 cc's cafe racer motorcycle videos. I have also asked u earlier for 125 cc's videos n u did it.. thanks for keeping interest in smaller bikes.. I also own 125 cc Honda cm.. n waiting for like this videos. Thank u Racer TV. so much...
Richard C :) Obrigado. :) Sou no Norte a uns 30 Km do Porto. Obrigado pelo apoio amigo. Um abraço.
Duong Doan´s bikes are very nice, motorcycle frame base is from gs 125, I have similar base, it has flat back side. Didn´t too much work on it, such as on gn 125. Thanks for inspiration block, small bike for life. :)
I agree.. even before you said that this look amazing... i know already this(the GN 125) is the look i'm looking for.... not only the combination of size to make it look big... but also the color scheme which I really like.... its modest and looks classy... as compared to most of the custom small cafe racer bikes here in malaysia they usually try really hard to look "radical" and bratty.. they usually make flat seats , it looks unfinished to me... when i look at this GN 125 cafe by Duong Doan it just gives out the calm look, maybe its the use of white...while not being funky by using light sky blue colors... its not inline with my real motivation to ride a cafe which is "stroll" around places and i dont intend to look like im coming from a biker gang
+BlackTop I agree with everything you said. And that's where we find the true value of the bikes in this video. :) Thank you for sharing your opinion. Cheers.
+BlackTop It seems you aren't aware about that, but here's the truth. This voice isn't real. It's created by software. I use this "robotic" voice, because i'm Portuguese, and my bad english accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that i like for my videos. I already tried a real american voice in one of my videos, but things didn't worked as i expected. Curiously, the robotic voice sounds very good for all non english natives. Cheers.
+RACER TV what?! for real? haha...it would have been really badass if you sounded like that, and I was also curious because you'd have to hire someone to do a voiceover with that voice lol... It sounds real to me except for some of the repetition of intonation at the end of some of the sentence... The intonation somehow made your video into that theme too..
I wish we could deliver this message to people who are wanting to start riding and think they need a more substantial machine. My first motorcycle was a Honda trail 90. To this day when I see one it sends my mind back to a special place, kind of like of that kiss with your first girlfriend.
+Tony Bunch That's curious. My first bike was also a Honda mini-trail 50cc. You're right. It's almost like the first girlfriend, after all, i was only 8 years old when i started riding it. Lol. Cheers.
In India most of the bikes are 100cc and above 150cc are big engines for us. Most of the bikes even 150 cc makes around 12 HP. compared to bike you have shown which are 15 hp are pretty good.
Great video but on the first bike that exhaust do my head in why you could catch the ground when cornering you could come off but still a great bike but it spoils a great bike
You are welcome my friend. My pleasure. To be honest, i think is better to sell your bike, and buying something older and cheaper, and then making the project as you want. It is not impossible to make a cafe racer with that bike, but it will require a lot of changes and money to make it look good. :) Cheers.
Abrazo!
+Angel Man Gracias por su sugerencia. Lamentablemente, no sé como escribir español(Sólo utilizando Google Translate.). Yo entiendo y hablo razonablemente bien. Saludos.
RACER TV Alright, thanks though. Your RUclips channel is my favorite. I will ask my son to translate this for me since he knows English much better than I do. I love Cafe Racer!! Thanks for your videos, they are very much appreciated!
Yep, smaller bikes are more fun (atleast in the city and small roads)....... My yamaha was a ton of fun last year but my kawasaki 250z -81 is the most fun bike i have EVER own...... I wud love to make something out of it but sad story is that i may have to sell it so i can ride my yamaha this year :/ kawasaki 250z 81 is cinda rare here in finland so i REALLY wud not want to get rid of it but i just cant handle the idea that i wouldnt ride this summer.......summer is not summer whitout bike to ride, right ? ...... Oh well, anyway good video yet again :D
+TT GarageRat I think the kawasaki 250 z -81 is rare everywhere, including on the web. There are only a few photos about it. :) Thank you Timo for sharing your (our) perspective. :) Cheers.
So what i learned from these videos is the frame should be closer to the wheel radius and there should be no gaps in between the motorcycle to mar it appear big. Thanks fr the suggestion
I have a question for you Racer. I noticed the handle bars on your friends cb125. The black and brown that being(not the spark). It had a nice subtle curve but not full clubman. Where could I find a set like that.
The cafe racer culture arose from finding a cheap bike and making it bare-bones and faster. The bigger CB350+ and RD400s are getting too pricey to hack up and make cool but little AS50s and that such are still relatively affordable.
The only problem that i see with that suzuki, is the swing arm. It looks too short. other than that, it seem to be an excellent bike for a cafe racer. Cheers.
I totally agree. Small bikes can be beautiful and are loads of fun. The Suzuki SP125 I owned still holds special place in my memory, not only because I had to take it apart and clean every bit of it, then repaint and add new parts here and there but because it was just happy fun to ride. I'm riding a Yamaha rdx 125 1978, That little two-stroke twin cylinder performs great for a 125cc bike. Love my bike!

So true about the realisation! Small is fun and needed!

+Antonio Fangueiro In that case, i recomend seeing this video: ruclips.net/video/q_Qk1ZmuEwY/видео.html
Essas motos são incríveis. Adoro essas pequenas.
Ótimo vídeo
Is it just me, or does anyone else end up feeling good, calm and inspired after watching Racer TV's videos?
+Sam Daman Thank you my friend for your kind comment. :) Cheers.
I have seen this video several times, it's just great. beside my BMW I'm a proud owner of a CB250, it's a fun bike. Small bikes are great for driving around in Copenhagen. Just build a SR250 for my Niece.(It's the best thing ever happent to her)
Small bikes are great fun.
+Wetfishmedia Thank you for sharing you experiance qith these kind of bikes. :) Cheers.
Wow,i have a suzuki 100cc café racer, and it is great, dont need too much power for be awesome xD Hi from argentina your videos are awesomes!
+SrAgus Thank you my friend for sharing "our same perspective about these bikes. :) Saludos.
Nifty little things,& a huge improvement over standard- would've loved one of these as a youngster! Cheers :-)
+inkitatus1 Tt least now that you have grown, you can finally play with the "big boys". (or not). :) Cheers.
+RACER TV l
I really enjoy your videos!
Dave Coetzee
Thank you for your kind words. Cheers.
will do, thank you.
Great video.
Much respect to Duong Doan and his design.
It was a Yamaha YBR 125 that got me back into bikes again.
You are so right that happiness and small bikes goes together.
Best regards
+SuperLaplander Thank you my friend, I'm glad you liked. Cheers.
Love this Cannel ! Danke für die tolle Arbeit !
+Stefan Mertenz Thank you my friend for your suport. Cheers.
Lol. Um abraço.
+RACER TV Mas descobriu a diferença. Em São Paulo é Carta! Aqui, mais completo é carteira de Habilitação.
Only an artist can build such a beautiful bike out of an ugly model. Gracias amigo por el excelente video!
+El Solitario Thank you my friend. As usual, i'm glad you liked. :) Saludos
Thank u so much Racer TV from my heart for this video😭.. my most inspired, favorite video till now in RUclips. i couldn't find any videos of 125 n 250 cc's cafe racer motorcycle videos. +Jigme Pema You're welcome my friend. I'm realy glad you liked so much. Thank you for all your kind words. Cheers.
For best fun. Small bike fast beats big bike slow. Always. Thank you
+Christo Kinieriem Exactly my friend. :) Cheers.
Espetacular! Servirá de inspiração para a minha GN 250. Abraços.
+Romualdo Costa Boa escolha de inspiração. Boa sorte. Abraço.
+RACER TV Subscrevi o canal há semanas mas só agora vi que é made in Portugal!! Excelente!!! Parabéns.
Alentejo? Continuem!
Richard C
:) Obrigado.
Thank you. I'm glad you liked my friend. :) Cheers.
Super i like it. The bike with the blue frame is my favorit.
BRAVO BRAVO i like low Budget Projekts.
+Masteroftrust I'm glad you liked. Cheers.
hehe muito top essas motos apesar de serem baixas cilindros, ficaram show, ótimo vídeo.
I never went to a big bike always had 125s and find them great fun, very cheap to run and cheap to insure.
The first one is so impressive man, cool!
+muhammad ekki I'm glad you liked. Cheers.
Voy estar atento. Gracias por la sugerencia. Saludos
I agree.. even before you said that this look amazing... i know already this(the GN 125) is the look i'm looking for....
not only the combination of size to make it look big... but also the color scheme which I really like.... its modest and looks classy... as compared to most of the custom small cafe racer bikes here in malaysia they usually try really hard to look "radical" and bratty.. they usually make flat seats , it looks unfinished to me... when i look at this GN 125 cafe by Duong Doan it just gives out the calm look, maybe its the use of white...while not being funky by using light sky blue colors... its not inline with my real motivation to ride a cafe which is "stroll" around places and i dont intend to look like im coming from a biker gang
+BlackTop I agree with everything you said. And that's where we find the true value of the bikes in this video. :) Thank you for sharing your opinion. Cheers.
RACER TV btw is that yourself making the voice over?
+BlackTop It seems you aren't aware about that, but here's the truth.
This voice isn't real. It's created by software.
I use this "robotic" voice, because i'm Portuguese, and my bad english
accent (and voice), can ruin the documentary character that i like for
my videos. I already tried a real american voice in one of my videos,
but things didn't worked as i expected. Curiously, the robotic
voice sounds very good for all non english natives.
+abutre inferno Muito obrigado amigo.
I love small capacity bikes!
Mutt motorcycle build custom looking bikes based on the GN 125 and 250 engines. Take a look.
I love your videos!
Lol. Cheers.
love it, in indonesia we call them suzuki thunder 125, best ride but poor build material
From Philippines. We have that kind of bikes like mini cafe racers.😁😁
Agile, cheap, bullet proof and beautiful. What more do we need?
+Nuno Machado Indeed. :)
Great video with a perfect approach!
Thanks!
Alex Ferreira
Old School Customs en Guayaquil amigo.
awesome presentation, sir.
Thank you for your support. :) Cheers.
beautiful bikes
In India most of the bikes are 100cc and above 150cc are big engines for us. Most of the bikes even 150 cc makes around 12 HP. compared to bike you have shown which are 15 hp are pretty good.
Thank you my friend for sharing your perspective about this matter. :) Cheers.
+celso reis Obrigado Celso. Então nesse caso, boa sorte para o teu projecto. Um abraço. :)
It's really cool.
I also want to look cool with EN125.
Great video but on the first bike that exhaust do my head in why you could catch the ground when cornering you could come off but still a great bike but it spoils a great bike
my god, these are brilliant...
Great projects, thanks.
+Szilárd Mátrai You're welcome. Cheers.
Thank you for the awesome videos !
I got a yamaha bolt 2014, is it possible to turn into a cafe racer ?
You are welcome my friend. My pleasure.
To be honest, i think is better to sell your bike, and buying something older and cheaper, and then making the project as you want.
It is not impossible to make a cafe racer with that bike, but it will require a lot of changes and money to make it look good. :) Cheers.
Please tell me about music. But you know how much i like your channel sir
Thanks. This song is based in this version:"Sunlounger - Spiritual Hideout (Chill)" Cheers.
RACER TV no sir thank you
WOW, COMO SIEMPRE UN EXCELENTE VIDEO Y DUONG DOAN ES UN AR TIS TA
+Comet Lab
Gracias por tu amable comentario. :) Saludos

+Dinh An Tran You're welcome. Cheers.
u need check out the brand Kreidler and there "free and wild" tour!
Abrazo!
+Angel Man Gracias por su sugerencia. Lamentablemente, no sé como escribir español(Sólo utilizando Google Translate.).
Yo entiendo y hablo razonablemente bien.
Saludos.
RACER TV
Alright, thanks though. Your RUclips channel is my favorite. I will ask my son to translate this for me since he knows English much better than I do.
I love Cafe Racer!! Thanks for your videos, they are very much appreciated!
The brown seat on this Gn 250 is so much prettier than the brat design don't you think so at RacerTV ?
i like your project guyz
does anyone now the rim size of the bike diameter and width? and tire size
Great vid and great bikes. Thank You. :-)
+PiotrCCS1 Thank you my friend. Cheers. :)
Saludos.
:) Cheers.
What would the tire measure be like to create this? Rear 4" 16 and front 3,5 18.. height? how much would the front forks be downgraded?
Well, that is the kind of details that you have to discover during the searches on the internet. It makes part of the building process. :)
So what i learned from these videos is the frame should be closer to the wheel radius and there should be no gaps in between the motorcycle to mar it appear big.
Thanks fr the suggestion
@Dream99990 Indeed. But here is another interesting project: ruclips.net/video/JPF9ojZuakw/видео.html
@@RACER_TV thanks for the information
I have a question for you Racer. I noticed the handle bars on your friends cb125. The black and brown that being(not the spark). It had a nice subtle curve but not full clubman. Where could I find a set like that.
Try to search on ebay for "Custom Cafe Racer Handlebar Chrome
Straight 24" 7/8" 22.2mm Motorcycle Motorbike" . Cheers.
Need more information about Duang Doans products please Australia
I've got a GN125 and as much as I like cafe racers, I wouldn't change a thing about it (though I did have it painted)
I'm digging those beefy tires. Would anyone know what size they are?
can any one give some hints on the tyre sizes and types of tread used?? cheers
I have this bike, but I can’t make cafe...
It’s very difficult :( I need learn this
Did you do any modifications in the engine performance?
The cafe racer culture arose from finding a cheap bike and making it bare-bones and faster. The bigger CB350+ and RD400s are getting too pricey to hack up and make cool but little AS50s and that such are still relatively affordable.
+Brett Voigt Thank for sharing your thoughts. Cheers.
WOULD see whether tvs Suzuki max 100R is good bike to start with?
The only problem that i see with that suzuki, is the swing arm. It looks too short. other than that, it seem to be an excellent bike for a cafe racer. Cheers.
