RM actually wrote poetry before he got into rap, so he kept up that aspect of his pen throughout his whole music career. That poetry continues through a lot of BTSs songs because he does a lot of writing.
Where the fck is that comment coming from. Believe I LOVE stary kids, I just don't get the immature beef. Like they actually like ea6chother, don't be a dork. @himaririku9254
RM & the creative director / leader of Balming Tiger (San Yawn) are really good friends, and he was the one that encouraged RM to create RPWP before going to the military so he could get stuff off his chest. He was also the creative director for the majority of RPWP and if you look under all of the music videos & live videos & visuals for RPWP, they all list “creative director: San Yawn”. Great collaboration between RM & the whole Balming Tiger team.
yeah, Balming Tiger's San Yawn was the creative director for all of RPWP and him and RM met on the Sexy Nukim project - so it really was the start of a great creative partnership. I feel like the Flying Lotus/Kendrick comparison makes sense

19:05 As well as being established in the underground, RM also was a force to be reckoned with as a battle rapper. He was 15/16 years old, and was feared by older rappers. The "RM is waiting for someone to give him a reason" is so real and immediately reminded me of when bts announced their hiatus and the media was calling it a disbandment and namjoon wrote that letter for us ❤
The reason why I love RM so much is because he’s so poetic… there’s no other artist that makes me think about my life introspectively like him which is why I love breaking down his music it’s so much fun
mono. is my go-to when I’m feeling anxious. It doesn’t put me to sleep, it helps me get out of my own head and relax. I’ve listened to it so many times I’ve lost count. Someone said that Namjoon couldn’t hug us all so he created mono. That’s exactly what it feels like to me. It’s a hug from a caring friend when it’s needed most
I hope you do his first mixtape rm I think it's very important for vernell to see where he came from and how he was feeling early on with the underground artist judging him and the struggle between him being the groups leader/idol and his identity as an artist
with him mentioning the major and minor key, i’m now eager to possibly (hopefully) see his reaction to jimin’s solo track “lie” off the bts album “wings” 😊 that album, in my opinion, is arguably one of their best! seriously can’t wait to see y’all venture into the whole group!! love your channel ♥️
I’m always here for the journey and the insights but your friendship and laughter is the true bonus! Mono is such a special album. It’s not like anything I’d heard a “K-pop” artist put out before. Raw vulnerable and unique. It held the title of the single album with the most #1s in the most countries on iTunes until Taylor Swift finally broke the hat record recently (yes we are working to get it back for RM). This is a true gem of hat deserves the accolades and love.
that's a cool phrase, but I personally think rappers are some of the greatest philosophers to ever exist ;) Because a rapper can be a philosopher, but most philosophers can't rhyme haha
Mono is my comfort mix tape. Sad? Listen to Mono. Depressed? Listen to Mono. Grieving? Listen to Mono. Tired? Listen to Mono. Have a cranky baby trying to get to sleep? Listen to Mono. Driving so where that makes you anxious? Mono. Like a warm blanket and somebody rubbing your shoulders. RMs deep, soft voice. Yep. Makes it all better
i remember when mono dropped, i was in a different country struggling with family issues 😢 the album was just a big fcking hug - i teared the hell up had the album on repeat for days
the best thing about RM is that you'll notice a new genius detail anytime you listen to his songs ps. can confirm that mono is the best album to listen when you need a power nap
I have switched my playlist to Mono so many times on an afternoon when I knew I needed a nap. It does not make me feel sleepy, it just allows me to turn off my mind and go to sleep, gently soothed into resting.
"Mono" got me through the darkest days of my life. "RPWP" helped me do some intense internal work facing what happened to me. "Indigo" helped me acknowledge it all, let go, and move forward. RM's music is my therapy. "Mono" is where it all started for me, though, and I am so delighted to see you guys visit this playlist.
Mono is album that works for catharsis. You need to had been in a dark place, like RM was at this time, and then this album helps you find the way out. It’s a trip from dark madness or depression to a sweet enlightenment, and then the calming feeling of it is what it is. You’ll see as you listen to the last songs and check the lyrics.
I'm so glad you mention the conection you felt between Badbye and Change pt. 2 because eAeon (the ft. in Badbye) was actually the producer of Change pt. 2 and I feel like their friendship and their work together, like Balming Tiger San Yawn, has definitely allowed RM to show a more alternative (and sad) kind of sound. I recomend listening to Don't, an eAeon track featuring RM. Anyway, love your videos and already subscribed
Namjoon always talks intimately to us, because in art and music your partner in the exchange of consciousness/energyis not an individual person but all of humanity.

Mono and the first august D album are what got me hooked for good into the fandom, and I'm so happy to see you guys go through listening to all these songs for the first time, love this, thank you for sharing all the videos with us 💜
27:30 Spoiling actually goes perfect with RM. 😂 I mean, there's a reason we say it's not a real comeback if RM hasn't spoiled it. 😆 He's accidentally shown stuff on his computer, revealed titles or lyrics during lives, hummed a song while filming, etc. But of course we usually only find out after the fact. I swear, ARMY could literally out-spy any government agency in the world. 😅 💜
Plus, RM always has our backs. You out of pocket. We get upset the guys find out. It is addressed. James Corden can attest to that. RM mix tape Mono broke Ed Sheeran’s record. Sexy Nukim yess

mono is army's comfort album. every year on the anniversary of mono youll see army share stories of how this album saved our lives. esp through depression or anxiety, grief or healing. this album is very special to army.
Uhgood has such relateable lyrics. Mono came out when I was having a hard time finding my "place", I constantly felt like I had to change to fit in, to pretend to like or dislike certain things just to not been seen as strage. Uhgood describes that feeling perfectly, of try but failing, of not being quite right but also not wrong. Uhgood and Moonchild are my ulitmate comfort songs, they really get me in my feelings.
Mono is one of the albums that many ARMY say helped them through a dark period..when they needed comfort, they turn to this. It really is beautiful. I find Bangtan's music to be very powerful, thought provoking, relatable and truly does transcend language. I can't wait for Varnell to hear more of each solo discography, and their group discography. 💜⚘️
48:17 it's totally one to fall asleep to. I listened to this album on repeat for months on end, while going to sleep and through the night, when I first found BTS. I still put it on whenever I can't sleep, it's like a hug from someone who understands. Side note; the thorns on the lamppost etc is called "hostile architecture" as a concept. It's really fascinating (read: horrific) to look into.
Thanks for giving a shout out to Doolset for their translations and background info. BigHit should be paying this person. Yes, I enjoyed listening to BTS and the solo songs, but what really pulled me in as a fan were the lyrics. RM's power with the pen is truly one of a kind.

Someone said that Namjoon couldn’t hug us all so he created mono. That’s exactly what it feels like to me. It’s a hug from a caring friend when it’s needed most
Army Love, Support and Trust BTS RM "Mono Therapy Session" in process! 😏😍👏🏽🕺🏽🎶🎤👑🥇💜✌🏽🙏🏽 #RMxMono
Mono is so underrated I've been saying this since 2018! Such a beautiful body of work, it's so dear to me.
I hope you do his first mixtape rm I think it's very important for vernell to see where he came from and how he was feeling early on with the underground artist judging him and the struggle between him being the groups leader/idol and his identity as an artist

^^^ 🫰🏼
I can't wait for him to listen to RM's first mixtape "RM" 😂😂
Samee, and also more collabs, we know Joonie made sooooooo great music, awesome
I LOVE MONO SO MUCH! I think mono will always have a special place in army's heart. Our healing album
with him mentioning the major and minor key, i’m now eager to possibly (hopefully) see his reaction to jimin’s solo track “lie” off the bts album “wings” 😊 that album, in my opinion, is arguably one of their best! seriously can’t wait to see y’all venture into the whole group!! love your channel ♥️
wings album..... absolute chef's kiss 🤌🤩🤩🤩
MONO is my F A V O R I T E!!!
listening to mono is like getting a warm, comforting hug after standing in the rain for so long, tears mixed with the rain, and then the sun comes out
18:35 I know you will get to this, but you have to play him “Joke” 😂! So he can see RM has a problem with EVERYBODY!
"he ain't get me" and in the beginning with sexy nukim "THAT'S MY BOY" 😂😂😂
I’m always here for the journey and the insights but your friendship and laughter is the true bonus! Mono is such a special album. It’s not like anything I’d heard a “K-pop” artist put out before. Raw vulnerable and unique. It held the title of the single album with the most #1s in the most countries on iTunes until Taylor Swift finally broke the hat record recently (yes we are working to get it back for RM). This is a true gem of hat deserves the accolades and love.
Mono. Is my forever favorite album in the world. Is like a hug to my soul. Rm is a really deep poet.
We have clearly hit a PURPLE NERVE in Varnell. Come to the bora side! 💜 WE HAVE RECEIPTS.
RM is a poet, his lyrics are so poetic. He is also known as "The Philosopher who Raps" 💜✨
that's a cool phrase, but I personally think rappers are some of the greatest philosophers to ever exist ;) Because a rapper can be a philosopher, but most philosophers can't rhyme haha
Mono is my comfort mix tape. Sad? Listen to Mono. Depressed? Listen to Mono. Grieving? Listen to Mono. Tired? Listen to Mono. Have a cranky baby trying to get to sleep? Listen to Mono. Driving so where that makes you anxious? Mono. Like a warm blanket and somebody rubbing your shoulders. RMs deep, soft voice. Yep. Makes it all better
i remember when mono dropped, i was in a different country struggling with family issues 😢 the album was just a big fcking hug - i teared the hell up had the album on repeat for days
the best thing about RM is that you'll notice a new genius detail anytime you listen to his songs
ps. can confirm that mono is the best album to listen when you need a power nap
I have switched my playlist to Mono so many times on an afternoon when I knew I needed a nap. It does not make me feel sleepy, it just allows me to turn off my mind and go to sleep, gently soothed into resting.
@@KatinaS252 exactly, is like listening to white noise or anything that puts you in a meditative state
Omg the first key played in Tokyo brought back so many emotions omg I need a breather already
You guys are hilarious in the best possible way! ARMY loves you!
Anti-social, extrovert, Scorpio and Army here! 💜
MONO YES I WAS WAITING FOR IT
I'm so glad you mention the conection you felt between Badbye and Change pt.
"Don't" is a spectacular song. It gets me every time.
Namjoon always talks intimately to us, because in art and music your partner in the exchange of consciousness/energyis not an individual person but all of humanity.
after the sh*tstorm of horrible people blocking spree ive been on today this is wonderful to see.
Oh twitter has been a mess.
For real, it's exhausting.
@@jennareally I had to take a break from there and stick to official news sources for now
I haven't been on Twitter in a minute..... Sigh, do I even wanna know what's happening over there🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
@@JoonJoon92 probably not. lets just say i used to sort of like BP as a light poppy background music sort of thing. but because of blinks i can't listen to them. I wish them well i hope they put out something soon for their fans that arent a**holes. but i cant bother anymore.
Tokyo by RM, my beloved
Mono is still my fave Namjoon album/mixtape
Really enjoying the well informed conversations around RM’s artistry
I think he wants the soundboard back.
Right?! Varnell trying to use reverse psychology 😂😂😂
🤣🤣
varnell disecting the lyrics now!!! LYRIC MAFIAS so proud of you 👏👏👏
Mono is my favorite RM Mixtape, thank you so much for reviewing it 💜
Mono and the first august D album are what got me hooked for good into the fandom, and I'm so happy to see you guys go through listening to all these songs for the first time, love this, thank you for sharing all the videos with us
💜
This mixtape is definitely my favorite work by RM.
I am curious to see you guys react to RM's first mixtape, RM!
27:30 Spoiling actually goes perfect with RM. 😂 I mean, there's a reason we say it's not a real comeback if RM hasn't spoiled it. 😆
He's accidentally shown stuff on his computer, revealed titles or lyrics during lives, hummed a song while filming, etc. But of course we usually only find out after the fact. I swear, ARMY could literally out-spy any government agency in the world. 😅
💜
Remeber when he spoiled BT21 by having a giant plush on his studio and then showing proudly to the camera before realizing his mistake? Lol
@@valeriaaraujo9962 I remember. 😂 It was the Van character that represents ARMY.
When he spoiled a scene in the MV with Lost lol 🤣…. (He was drinking a water bottle and it spilled on him & then he yelled “spoiler” lol) 💜
19:36 hm…I’m curious how Varnell will react to RM’s first mixtape 😅 He was 20 when it was uploaded to SoundCIoud.
Mono it's literally my comfort album
Plus, RM always has our backs. You out of pocket. We get upset the guys find out. It is addressed. James Corden can attest to that. RM mix tape Mono broke Ed Sheeran’s record. Sexy Nukim yess
Mono is my nightly lullaby.
This!
MONO??? OMG YESSSS 💜💜💜💜
Hello from a fellow Scorpio. Though I’m an anti-social mostly introvert
Sleep, your asides are so helpful, clarifying or expanding the meanings and definitions of terms and concepts. This journey with you and Varnell is a constant delight 💜
49:02 bro it's so funny because i did have a dream about rm after this came out and it was just a dream where we talked for hours. i can't remember what we talked about but i woke up with a smile on my face and so peaceful for the first time in a very long time🥹🥹🥹🫂💜
mono is army's comfort album. every year on the anniversary of mono youll see army share stories of how this album saved our lives. esp through depression or anxiety, grief or healing. this album is very special to army.
Mate Tokyo is a super sad song we dont want it to be about us 😅😅
Uhgood has such relateable lyrics.
I WAS SO SCHOCKED TO SEE THIS!!!! AAAAAHHHHH!
I love mono. It's such a cathartic vibe, and the best mixtape if you just want to sit in your feels and heal a bit. Uhgood is my favorite.
I hope you are having a day as beautiful as you are 💜 💛
‘That’s my guy!’ Mhm…. Yup… not your bias huh
This! He's said it a few times now...as his fingers lose the last bit of grip he has and he falls down the hole. Varnell, you're so cute!
“That’s my guy” QUICK EVERYONE WRITE IT DOWN FOR THE RECEIPTS
edit: he already said it once in Indigo Part 1 btw✍️✍️
I’m here for Varnell’s denial 😂😂😂. This is fun watching him go down the rabbit hole in full on denial 😂. Can’t wait to see more! 💜
From Indonesia. Just finish my breakfast with my family. Then watch this
Your videos and episodes are so refreshing and makes me respect music and bts more. Thanks for doing this🔥
48:17 it's totally one to fall asleep to.
RM performed Sexy Nukim at the W event and I do think you need to see it. It really was like spring a New Kim ( Kim Namjoon)
Thanks for giving a shout out to Doolset for their translations and background info. BigHit should be paying this person. Yes, I enjoyed listening to BTS and the solo songs, but what really pulled me in as a fan were the lyrics. RM's power with the pen is truly one of a kind.
Varnell nails it … I listen to mono when I’m having a hard time and it’s hard to sleep. It’s soothing … uhgood is my favorite track.
Nam wanted to do poetry before he fell for rap.
He is the poet who raps
