    Came to your channel to see the old house and realized it was gone. 😢 it's just nostalgic for me. That's when I found minimalism, and you helped so much.

    I’ve always thought your version of Flylady is way easier and I really enjoy your videos on the subject. Keeping it simple! 2 concepts I’ve added to my own routine is the reset idea for morning and evening. The other is how you loop the zones in a 4 week rotation. Getting it away from the annoying 5 zones with 1 being half a week average. Vacation or sick time interrupting that. 4 weeks, 4 zones in a loop. Begin where you left off. Life changing.

    • @countrymousesfarmhouse497

      Same. I never liked when my whole month seemed out because of week one being one day long and it started on a Sunday for instance. This way is fantastic and I feel like I'm really getting it done.

      I put week 1 and 5 together as one zone so I stay with the calendar.

    • @AmandaBaias
      @AmandaBaias 2 года назад

      Ok. I've heard about this loop, but I still don't really get it. Could someone ease explain it to me or direct me to a video that does? Thank you very much!

      @@AmandaBaias In the Flyladys system, you divide the home in 5 zones , week one of the calendar month is spent in zone one . If you look at October's calendar this way means I would literally have only Friday and Saturday in that zone . I keep weekends for family life . For me that 1 day is nowhere near enough. Then week 2 you move to zone 2. In November you would then have Mon-sat in the zone 1 again but to me that's making most of that zone wait 2 months for a clean. My zone 1 or 5 was terrible by then and I always felt like I wasn't getting them done properly. If you divide into 4 zones, combining the rooms differently, I'm getting a far cleaner home and finishing all zones at the end of each month even if I miss a few days . Does that make sense ?🥰

    • @AmandaBaias
      @AmandaBaias 2 года назад +1

      @@countrymousesfarmhouse497 YES! It does make sense. Thank you so much. So it's key to regroup my rooms and home areas into 4 zones. Excellent.

    For any other mom out there struggling with the morning madness of getting out the door with younger ones. I used to prep all the kids outfits for the week on Sunday but I have since found that to take too much time and the weather forecast changes often enough that I end up frantically looking for a different outfit come Wednesday 🙄 SO now I created a Morning Tote. My boys brush their teeth, go potty, get in the bath. While they wash themselves and wash their own hair (I might have to assist at the end a bit) I read them a book so i don’t take up time later and they can splash around a bit. Then while they change into pjs we also pick tomorrow’s outfit (not committing to a whole week) down to socks, undies and even shoes. We put the outfit in the Morning Tote. That way when they wake up in the am, they can FULLY get dressed autonomously and there is no last minute “I don’t have any socks!” Or “I can’t find my shoes!!” If they need me to wash socks/undies/can’t find the other shoe, I know about it THE NIGHT BEFORE and I can do something about it before morning mayhem. This has changed our lives, I’m not even joking.

    Thanks so much for simplifying the routine. Seems do-able for sure! Do you expect Mike to do any house work, especially on the weekend?

    • @bayleymadeit
      @bayleymadeit  2 года назад +3

      Hi, No I don’t expect Mike to do any housework just like he doesn’t expect me to work outside the home. We each have our own responsibilities during the week and in the weekend we both deserve to relax. He also does everything for the outside of the house too like takes the car to be cleaned and does the windows. Of course that doesn’t mean he never helps me with the housework inside but I definitely don’t have that expectation 😊

    I think my biggest take away from all of this is that everything has a home. And when you have too much stuff things dont have a home and the house always looks messy because it can never be packed away. All your routines fall into place because you can put everything away. I still have homeless stuff and it bothers me.
