- A short story about a proud motorbike owner and his encounter with a fellow biker, written and presented by Vince
The first half of the story was written in 1982 for an article in Southampton and District Motorcycle Club magazine under the title 'The Ultimate Ride' with the remaining penned to fit the requirements of Bike magazine, but sadly never published meaning I had to get a proper job
At the time of writing the Southampton and District Motorcycle Club was based in Woodside Avenue in Eastleigh, Hampshire, UK. The club can now be found at sdmcc.net
The sketch was drawn by Vince to demonstrate the bike envisaged in the story. It was influenced by the Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle’s V-twin motor sat in a frame similar to the eighties Moto-Martin CBX1000. Also there is just a bit of Ogri in it. Orgi was a cartoon character drawn by Paul Sample for Bike Magazine between 1972 and 2009. Ogri actually rode a Norvin, a Vincent engined Norton café racer. Actually he didn’t as he was just an ink drawn character. Despite these obvious limitations Ogri continued in motorcycle magazine Back Street Heroes until 2012
The video was filmed on an iPhone 14 Pro, using a Røde Wireless ME microphone set up then originally edited on an iPad Pro [6th gen] in the LumaFusion App before being finalised on an iPad Pro [M4]
The story was also previously published in the fiction section of the vinceunlimited.co.uk website on 17 Aug 2018 but is now no longer available but was reproduced on the vinceunlimited WordPress site on the same date where it remains to this day
