I resonated so strongly with the section where you were speaking on when you first started on RUclips! The dilemma of “ok great, I’ve done tags, and I really want to be here, but now what?” (paraphrasing) I have found so much inspiration and comfort in your channel and in the realization that these thoughts are perfectly normal! Thank you Simon, for sharing your experiences with us! 💕💕🤗🤗💕💕
Watched 2nd half live and rewatched the first half just now. You have a lovely relationship with RWS that has changed my mind over the years, Simon. It felt too oversaturated in the tarot world but your sensitive appreciation for all the versions is special. I'm on the lookout for my own (first ever RWS) and I want a true Dirty Pam. May we all find our unicorns! 🦄🌈
I LOVE your videos, especially top tens! ❤ My souldeck is the Nightmare Before Christmas. It made me laugh, cry and helped me predicted beautiful things. I love RWS decks, thank you very much for all your positivity and knowledge. Also, beautiful message for this week. 🖤🇱🇺
Thanks so much, Simon! I'm so happy to see this new top 10 RWS video because I recently purchased two 80s versions (with the small 1972 US Games copyright) and it was so interesting to feel the difference in card stock. Both are matte but one has an ever-so-slight gloss the other doesn't have. And the one without that gloss feels amazing, like the silkiest paper with a little bit of waxy feel, perhaps? I like them both, but the tactile quality of a deck can really make such a difference. I have two more vintage RWS decks coming in the mail, (1980s also) and it will be interesting to see how the card stock compares to the first two. (I went on a bit of a buying binge.) 😊 The Weiser Tarot is so lovely! The colors just glow and remind me of Mark Rothko's layered colors. Something about them reaches your soul. Thank you for your card pulls, I always look forward to your thoughts. Wishing you a happy week with Sandra. ♥
Thank you, Sara. It’s easy to go down a rabbit hole with these vintage decks isn’t it? If ever you do manage to get a 70’s version I’d highly recommend! It’s pure silk, without any waxiness! 😍
@@the_hermits_cave Well, the gods did bless me! I posted over on the fb group. Thanks again! ♥ (I thought I added a reply here, but I use a script blocker and I probably forgot to set it correctly and it didn't post my reply. That happens to me a lot. =/ )
I've never heard of the wiser deck. Thanks Simon. You have turned me on to so many beautiful rws decks and have really changed my mind and have appreciated my rws decks more. Thank you.
What a great cross section of decks!🤩 I know many people think this deck is too formal or dated, but as you know back in the day if you bought a book about tarot this was usually the one they used. Your right about the older Universal decks being more matte than glossy, as I picked mine up in the early '90s, and is still my go-to deck. I hear from many people who are "turned off" by the flat areas of block colours in the original RWS, so now I recommend the Centennial or Universal to newbies. The sepia tone in the Centennial tends to make the original colours gel rather than clash imo . Im really taken with the JK deck, how did I miss that? Also ,Im still jealous of your original Albano and Dirty Pam.😆 Thanks for another great video Simon, as it gave me an excuse to nerd out on my favorite deck. (Not that we should need one)😉
Great choices! I'd love to see you show all 30-something of your RWS decks, ranked or not. You're the reason I picked up my original RWS deck again and really grew to appreciate Pam's art and how amazing the deck is. From one RWS deck to more than a dozen. I love them all for different reasons!
I’ve been catching up post-live and pulled a card from my Lightseers Tarot whilst watching. Guess what it was? Page of Swords. My jaw dropped when you also pulled it at the end! Definitely a message for the week!
I have a yellow box RWS that I used for learning tarot and while I respect it for what it is, I've NEVER connected with it. I got the Retina Waite after seeing you do a walkthrough of it and I absolutely love it! That deck helped me fall in love with the RWS. It was worth the money for that reason.
Thanks for sharing that! I completely agree, I feel that people who perhaps might not connect with the RWS for whatever reason, might stand a better chance with the Retina! 😍
another great feast for the eyes ... love them all, I may have to look into that Weiser Tarot, I love the colours and the look of that one 😁..... I do have the Radiant Wise Spirit and the mini deck, the colours are soo gorgeous pity about the glossiness in the bigger deck, I do love it being borderless though, not gonna lie. 😅
I love your takes and your beautiful decks, thank you Simon for sharing your journey with us ❤️ I am still looking for the RWS deck that really grabs me. I absolutely adore the JK Waite deck, those colors are just stunning. I would love one like that with the original drawings instead of a re-draw. I reminds me of the Albano Waite, which would be my favorite if it wasn’t for the fact that the new version has very different color tones sadly..
I was lucky enough to get the (Simon made me do it) Retina deck even with postage being 2/3rds the cost of the deck but it is truly outstanding and I love it. Also, how do you know if a plaid backed original type RWS Deck is a Blushing Fool edition?
Maybe you can do an ABBA video for those of us who will never get there and put a warning for the lucky ones who can so they can not watch if they like. Sounds amazing would love to go but live at the other end of the world 🌻

My favorite is the Dirty Pam deck ❤
Good choice! 😍

The Weiser is fabulous, especially for the price! 😍
I love your rws videos! My only RWS is the Universal Waite, but I think I might buy a vintage University Books for my birthday.
Enjoy!

My first RWS deck is the Groovey Waite with sparkles, if that counts 😂
It sure does!
Retina Waite Smith Tarot Golden Edged Classic Tarot is out of print sadly.
What is number 4? Did I miss it? I’m re-watching since I missed a big section in the middle on Saturday
I got so mixed up didn’t I ? 😝
10 decks is a lot to keep track of! …or 9 decks 😂
The tarot that comes in the Taschen box, what position would it be in? Will you make a Top 2024?
@@Zairmus1c I will be doing 😉

Love the pendant does Keith make them for sale?❤
Wil” be doing from September at madwitchcottage.Etsy.com 😍
@@the_hermits_cave thank you!
Simon i cant hear what your top first deck is? Whats the name of it blushing what?
Blushing Fool 😜
I was lucky enough to get the (Simon made me do it) Retina deck even with postage being 2/3rds the cost of the deck but it is truly outstanding and I love it. Also, how do you know if a plaid backed original type RWS Deck is a Blushing Fool edition?
There are a few tell tale signs. The blue box has Waddingtons on it for one, and the reddish blush on the fools face 🙏🏻

Unfortunately, filming in there is strictly forbidden 🚫
