It's a Great I.D.E.A.! The Least Restrictive Environment (LRE)

The IDEA states that schools must identify where, when, by what personnel, and how long any service that removes students from the regular education classroom in the IEP.
The regular education classroom is the Least Restrictive Environment because students are fully included with their non-disabled peers. Students remaining in the Least Restrictive Environment is an important function of providing a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE).
