    As one of those who requested you cover this game, GM King, a big thank you! It was just as fun as I knew it would be! And this is why Ivanchuk has long been one of my favourite players. He goes his own way, and he's got the calculation ability and positional sense to justify his sometimes incomprehensible ideas. Plus, no one loves the game more than he does...
    BTW, your coverage almost makes me want to switch from my beloved 1 d4 to try the KG - except that I don't like playing against the Sicilian if that's what Black chooses!

    • @crazymulgogi
      @crazymulgogi 4 года назад +1

      If the Sicilian, why not try the closed Sicilian, Spassky style? Nc3, g3, Bg3 and who knows, f4, etc. To play the King's Gambit is to take a risk, so what's not to like about the Sicilian? 😎

    • @FeaturingMaxAsMax
      @FeaturingMaxAsMax 4 года назад +2

      As a King's Gambiteer, if my opponent plays the Sicilian I just play 2. f4. Why not? It's not even a pawn sacrifice! (But if he plays 2. ... d5 then I do play a pawn sacrifice with 3. Nf3. Look up the Bryntse Gambit for further details.)

    How are you?
    Thanks to your videos I have played the king's gambit and with great success. I learned a lot from them.
    But a question arose for example in the variant 1.e4 e5 2.f4 exf4 3. Nf3 g5 4. Nc3 g4 6. Ne5 d5 !?
    What is your recommendation against it?
    The computer says Qe2 but it is a complicated game, I don't know if I can explain it in a youtube video, thanks for your attention. Greetings from Mexico

    Daniel how do you see for black Rh7 instead of Rxh6? It seems more solid to me. If white exchanges and then plays Bh6 anyway at least you gain a tempo.

    • @PowerPlayChess
      @PowerPlayChess  4 года назад

      Why put the bishop on h6 after the exchange? I don't think this is the moment that Black should look for improvements. White already has what he wants: a mess of a position where one false move can be fatal.
