This one is easy. Don’t put them on a pedestal. They are literally just like everyone else, faults and all. Just treat them like anyone else

How do you do that when the person in question has a say in whether or not you get money (and therefore food, shelter and survival) ?

It's not about putting them on pedestal. I have never had any desire of putting any authoritative figures on pedestal, especially the incompetent authoritative person. It's not about putting them on pedestal. It's my unconscious mind reminding me of my trauma of physical abuse from my narcissistic mother and my narcissistic father whenever I made a mistake that doesn't follow my narcissistic mother's wants and my narcissistic father's wants whenever I talked face-to-face with schools' professionals.

That's so very true! I see it happening every day. You know what's funny too? Those same people you see as being 'above' you also look at other people and think those other people are 'above' them also.

    This is spot on!
    My sources of fear are:
    1) the company/line manager who can sack me for the slightest 'mistake',
    2) the law that says "Either you do this/not do this or you are done for!" (not so much now since I know that I can get the law changed), and
    3) the Western Dating and Relationship Culture that says, "You must play the game, when in Rome do as the Romans do, be one of us and don't be yourself, or you won't find that woman in your life and you won't be good enough for anyone".
"Daddy issues"? Yes, exactly. I could never please him and I never did right. Then he left the whole family (kids too!) when I was eleven. I just get by living that fear every day of my life. It never stops, just varying degrees of that fear. I know that it's irrational since I have the intelligence, but when I am at work, for example, I am constantly trying to get to the 'safe zone' that I am "doing a good job". The same pattern is with relationships. I never rest since I am constantly looking out for that danger! Self-empowerment is my lifeline!

I’ll interject for a little bit. A lot of it derives from your insecurities and if you notice when you pinpoint why you fear somebody, or why you’re intimidated by them, a lot of it is something that you can change physically. Building more confidence overtime. It’s more of a long-term thing. But whatever it is for you, you have to identify that and snuff it out.
I had an instructor Tell me this along time ago, and at the time I found it so offensive that he just randomly told me straight to my face, stop everything that was going on to tell me you’re insecure about something. He said I don’t know what it is but you need to get over it. now looking back. I appreciate that statement so much and it is fixed a lot of part of my life that I had insecurities. Attack your insecurities, and you’ll be secure. Security.

I am insecure of about my own masculinity. So i either enter into the need to force myself to be a certain way ( determined, focussed on my purpose, not laugh on anything) or give up and be open completely loosing all my control and in return confirming my fears of a feminine boy, of being a joke in front of people.
Its the reason I fear my masculine friends and try to avoid them and their thought 💭.
Yes, it feels terrible to say this, but now maybe I can change it. I just understood that only presence ( being in that moment ), feeling that fear, and moving through it instead of avoiding or hiding or running from it, makes it way easier to deal with it.
Everyone has problems in their purpose, certain defects. All issues are of equal importance. To grow means to realise that what can be fun to you may be an issue for others. We are all here to improve our depth of purpose on this planet earth.

But i have anxiety when communicating with my reporting boss. And I have fear communicating with even those people who i am attached with emotionally. Otherwise with those who im detached with, however superior position he/she may be socially or professionally I feel at ease communicating

You say exactly what I feel and experience for a couple months!
I don't speak the language, so I didn't really realize what do you mean by saying percieving ourselves in one way, is getting the base from the parent...? To percieve ourselves in a good way we need first get the basic needs from our parents, so they'll percieving us good enough or in the best wat and if they don't , we'll actually be needing to "supply" this to them?
By the way you're book is still avialable?

I want to buy "the art of extraordinary confidence" , but its v costly in india , its shipped from US , and it costs around 1900rs here , which is huge. usually books here cost between 400rs to 800rs. I hope you tie up with some publisher here in India , so that we can get the book at an affordable price.

What if you're not intimidated by any authority figure

  • @roxnroll8050
    @roxnroll8050 Год назад

It's weird - in some situations I bark back to authority. In others, I'll actually put myself in a losing situation to not deal with constant harassment when I'm actually in a winning position - whatever that may be. Just knowing this fact doesn't help me fix it. Even when I discover things in my past that may have started this behavior - knowing doesn't help. I hate when people say that simply knowing the root cause of your is going to help somehow. It's great - I know a knife cut me, but that doesn't stop the bleeding; I need a friggin bandage. So what's the bandage here? This would help change my life!
