Looking for an awesome tote packed with exciting features?
You're on the right channel!
This Boundary Supply Rennen Tote is an 18-liter bag that is feature-heavy and has a lot of pockets and magnets. There are two types of the Rennen Tote, the regular version and the X-PAC version (like this one). They really don't have much difference, just the fabric materials used.
This tote could be pricey as compared to the other tote bags in the market but if you dig all the features it offers, it'll be worth the buck!

Let's help the community by leaving a comment down below with your thoughts about this tote. Would you get it despite having some flimsy pockets? Is it over-engineered for you? And if you already have it, how is it so far? We'd love to hear from you!

Great and detailed review! Wanting Boundary Supply’s gears but Been rocking the Alpaka Elements Tote and their tech cases though based on your other reviews 😅👊
Nothing wrong with that - Alpaka brings a lot more value for the price imo
I got the ripstop version of this bag and I really appreciate the wide, flat bottom. It gives it a different characteristics for carry than thinner totes (like the alpaka).
One thing I've done with the rennen tote is take advantage of the shoulder strap mounts. You can use any extra one you may have (any g-hook or conventional clasp will do). They sell shoulder straps on their site for this purpose, called ACC straps, in both 1" and 1.5" (the 1.5" works well for me). When I go grocery shopping and have to walk to haul them home, being able to carry the tote with a crossbody strap is really nice and frees up a hand. Some totes don't have this extra mount. I never would have thought about it, but its a big plus in use.
Nice! Hadn’t thought about that
Great idea. Thanks.
I have the regular version of this tote. Hands down my favorite bag. It’s my go-to weekend, throw-all bag. I’ve also traveled on a few long-haul trips with it - keeps all liquid (kids medicine) upright at all times. That mysterious slip pocket Aaron mentioned I usually put a single credit card, hotel room key or parking ticket. It’s sits on top so it’s easy to locate. The material is sturdy and will last years. I personally don’t think it’s over-engineered. I put every pocket to good use. The Interel slip pockets are flimsy for a reason. If they had put an elastic mesh pocket it will be more difficult to grab items in it. The handle indeed can be a bit more comfortable but I have no complaints. I usually carry it over the shoulder and it’s perfectly fine. My favorite feature of the bag has to be the magnetic quick access pocket. It’s huge and it’s magnetic - enough said. I highly recommend this tote.
Hell yea
I love all of the features of Boundary Supply bags. I don't like when totes don't have internal pockets. I am a pouches person, so everything doesn't need to fit inside a pocket necessarily. But there are certain items I don't want to have to reach into a pouch for, and for those things I need internal pockets!
Can’t argue with that!
Thank You Aaron!
❤️
I wish they made this in a vertical orientation. Maximalist bags, because they’re wider than the ordinary tote, tend to get bumped when I’m in crowded places or in narrow store aisles.
I agree that there should be more vertical totes, but unfortunately I haven't seen any, at least not that I've reviewed
I have this tote, my only issue is the handle strap, it slides off my shoulder when it’s laden, so I have to keep adjusting the handle every few seconds since it slips off with each step I take walking, and especially up and down stairs. Space is fine, compartment is well designed, but the slippage is frustrating from using it as often as I want it to be useful.
yea that's annoying, maybe you can add/apply some sort of rubber to give it some grip 🤔
Hi Aaron, love your reviews. I've watched a ton of them. I have a few questions. I'm thinking of ordering a tote. I've never used one. I'm concerned about their comfort and if it will stay easily on my shoulder. Also, are they (in general) more or less comfortable to carry for a day than a backpack. I want something easily packable for a vacation as I don't want to carry my Boundary Errant all day. Besides carrying around town, I want something I can carry to the beach. My main desires are comfort, rain protection, a water bottle holder.and decent easy access organization. Considering this Rennen Tote and also the Rennen Ripstop Tote. Or will I be better off with a light weight backpack. Your thoughts please.
thanks dude! In short - a tote will never be as comfortable as a backpack due to improper weight distribution (especially if the tote is packed out). Having said that, if you want a tote and you need all the things you mentioned, it's gonna be hard to beat this one
Thanks so much. I’ll buy a cheap tote to go to the beach and use a back pack for walking around.
Is there any packable backpack that is quite comfortable and will be better as a lighter day pack than the Boundary Errant?
@@marketguy2 Aer Go Pack 2 and WANDRD Veer are solid options
Thanks Aaron. You're the best.@@Nomads.Nation
You did not mention "for reference I am 5'8" !!!, how dare you. lol, good review.
For reference I’m 5’8 😉
If the sunglasses go on in wool pocket, the other one I’d probably use for a microfiber cleaning cloth… I probably wouldn’t feel good about putting keys in there next to my sunnies...
💯
Need the Fyro tote review

Great review! Nice looking bag, but like you say, a little over engineered.
