I wondered what it would sound like with no resonator & thought of replacing it with pipe. After hearing this, I ordered a new resonator off ebay. Thanks!
Did you notice any performance gains or issues? Thought about possibly havin the resonator deleted on my 2001 Honda Civic I've got headers, cold air intake and a 4" JDM Titanium Muffler
I got the same car but burgundy I got a cheap magna flow exhaust muffler from a shop were I stay it sounds a little different when driving in overdrive and drive over 50 mph letting foot off the gas u can hear the exhaust drone

I removed the whole midpipe section, resonator and all and replaced it with 2" pipe from down pipe to muffler, sounded nothing like this. The inner diameter of the oem midpipe is 1 5/8", with 2" pipe having a inner diameter of 1 7/8" that extra 1/4" makes all the difference. I used that size because im using gs-r specs where possible with the civic. This method applies to weight, tires, exhaust, iab control through flashpro, stage 2 camshaft with primarys close to those of the c1 vtec lobes, a crz transmission, sway bar size, anyways you get the point...

Stock piping is too small I think for it to sound good. I have a coworker with a straight pipe civic with 2 1/4" pipe and it sounds a lot better than this. His is loud as hell though.

You can probably find a cheap new manifold online which in the end might be worth spending the extra money rather then fixing your old one
