    Lily-Go T-Deck unboxing and assembly inside a 3D-printed case. In this video you can also see the installation of Meshtastic firmware. I'm still waiting for the 18650 battery holder. I'm currently powering the unit through USB-C.
    Meshtastic is a project that lets you use inexpensive radios in your own LoRa mesh network to communicate without use of cell or wifi. These radios are great for encrypted offgrid communication with friends/relatives in places where you don't have reliable internet/phone access. Or you can just do it for fun! :)
    More Meshtastic videos coming up! Enjoy the video and remember to subscribe, thanks!

      It's basically a device which can share location and send text messages without any other network like cell towers. It uses a Lora radio. meshtastic.org/docs/introduction/@@troxxa8

      @@jamesperez6275 Keep your eye on the Aliexpress Lilygo store. Small batches pop up once a while. You just have to be fast to snag one. I have had better luck on Aliexpress compared to the Lilygo official website.

      I recommend joining Tindie product waitlist. I have had some good luck with that. When a batch arrives you just quickly log in and order one. www.tindie.com/products/lilygo/lilygo-t-deck-esp32-s3-lora-module-28-inch-lcd/

    Hi. What type and size of the two screws did you use for the case?

    • @TechAirSpace
      @TechAirSpace  5 месяцев назад +1

      I used M2.5 x 20mm Hex Socket Head Cap Screws. Screws were just a little bit too long so I had to use a drill bit to extend the screw hole.

    What stl did you use for the case?

      I made my second print of this case a tiny amount bigger. The original .stl is a very tight fit. You will need to sand it a little from inside from the top part so that the display can snap easily into position without damaging anything.

    • @TechAirSpace
      @TechAirSpace  5 месяцев назад +1

      I agree. It was a tight fit. Had me bit worried when I tried to push the device into the front case. I also had to trim it just a tiny bit with a blade@@HackMyWayOut

    Makes me wonder what kind of abuse the components suffer on sloppy Chinese assembly lines, if the screen protector alone has numerous scratches out of the box? 🤔😉

      @TechAirSpace  5 месяцев назад +1

      I have received items from Aliexpress which have been all banged and scratched up. Some have been perfect. I guess there is just enough quality control to see that the item is working.

    I have an idea to make this device into ultimate SHTF messaging tool. Basically, the idea is to create an open source version of SpotX with no monthly subscription fees and no reliance on ground-based authentication gateways and delivery gateway, which will become inoperable in SHTF scenarios.
    What would it take to make T-deck send and receive messages on 240-270MHz (instead of current 866 Wi-Fi frequencies) , and also on 430s TinyGS satellites???

    • @TechAirSpace
      @TechAirSpace  4 месяца назад

      Hmm I think SX1262 chip can do 100 to 1000 MHz roughly. 240-270 would not be legal in some areas but that would not be impossible. Not familiar with TinyGS but that project looks interesting!
