Any other day of the week these 'working class' talking heads would no doubt scoff and roll their eyes at Bullseye but wave a cheque and watch them ramp up that regional accent
RIP Jim Bowen, I still have the Single you made. Super, Smashing, Great, And you've won a speedboat, it's on a trailer so you can park it, outside your flat in Barnsley. In the third series it was a Caravan they won. They just needed the car to pull it along. Brilliant, they can't make nothing like this no more, that is why i don't have, or watch TV. And license free for 8 years, De-Fund the BBC NOW!.
I don't get all that nonsense about Jim doing a bad job. Not even in a 'so bad it's good' kinda way. I think he was brilliant at it, I can't imagine anyone who could have been better suited than him.
I don't know as to how polishe dhe was but I think he made the show because people could relate to him more. No frills, nothing fancy, most of th epoeple (myself included) thoguht 'I could do better than thqat'. tghat was his appeal and that's why he worked on a show that didn't take itself too seriously. A 'good' host such as Forsyth would paradoxically have ruined it!
Jim Bowen..as Lancashire as black pudding. He visibly aged over the years he presented. What hair he had was quite dark at the start..after 3 years of bluffing his way through it went grey and thin.
I also reckon it was those from the West Midlands that won the speedboat. Coventry is supposed to be the furthest place form the sea in the UK. I didn't know about the deal with getting rid of at least 3 speedboats to get them at a reduced price.
Bullseye on Challenge, 24/6/21. The question was what cruel practice was exposed in The Water Babies, the correct answer being children used as chimney sweeps. Contestant answered ' child labour in factories ', Bowen said that was close enough! For £100 pounds!!
Shockingly bad prizes on the prize board, everyone knew the scam of switching the star prize depending on whether they won or lost. Nobody cared though we loved it despite the tight fisted cheapness of it in fact many would say they loved it because of the tight fisted cheapness.

What do the producers of these clip shows think the viewer gains from having a cast of z-listers read scripted comments in between clips? I’d far rather have heard more from Jim and Tony.
"Aw, not that c*** Iain Lee narrating!" Bullseye *was* a great game show - but was it *the* greatest game show of all time, as this documentary claimed? I reckon Countdown, Fifteen-to-One, Blockbusters and even Knightmare all have a good claim to this title - yet none of the four were mentioned in this documentary (although William G Stewart did appear, to talk about Family Fortunes and The Price is Right).
The memories of watching bullseye on a sunday and dreading school in the morning lol
Howard's Way and That's Life did that to me.
Me too😀
Paul, you hit the nail on the head.....brilliant
Omg 😲 I used to be the same.
Yep. Every time I hear the music I go straight to bed.
Jim Bowen was brilliant. He hosted Bullseye like the landlord hosts a pub quiz but that's what made it.
Shocked that Tony Green didn’t lose an eye from a stray dart.
Bullseye was the perfect quiz format - but still Jim Bowen owned the show. Thank you Jim. RIP.
Jim Bowen was super, smashing and great!
Dave is in his 60s - "Come on young Dave"
RIP Bowen
When you see Collins being interviewed you know your scraping the barrel for someone to interview !!!

Agreed. You know that as soon as Kirsten O'Brien got out of dodge she went straight to the Groucho Club
'Kids loved it... Mums and Dads loved it... What more could you ask?' Some decent bloody prizes for a start Tone!

Those talking faces, Justin lee Collins, wowsers.
Indeed. Retro and kitsch in and of himself now I guess
Jim Bowen was not bad he was as good as they get

I used to be terrified as a kid whenever bully appeared in the corner and moo'd!
Ha ha - "if they won they'd get the speedboat" LMAO
I thought it was just me who found the speed boat funny. I didn’t watch it in its heyday, but now it’s so entertaining.
It’s a speedboat 🤣🤣🤣🤣
lol if they won it was a speed boat if you lost they rolled out the car haha

The best darts gameshow ever doesn't he mean the only one ever!
That's what he meant... It's all in the voice...
Nice to see Tony off the coke, well for a week anyway.
?
Justin Lee Collins speaks...
It's an open and shut case.
True. He was a bit of a freak.

For £100 pounds!!
I doubt many of them are still alive.
If it wasn't for Zane, I'd have watched this.
Fun fact. Most of the people in the audience are now dead

The IBA controlled the prize limit expenditure per show. Every British game show was restricted to around £6,000 per show maximum until 1993.
I didn't know although I was about 8 years old lol
@@gregroberts5291 Weird how much control over television there was back then, even with game show prizes on a commercial TV channel.
@@johnking5174 lol that's total bollocks
@@therealJohnDawes it’s true
How good was Tony Green at Maths !??
What a shitty trick, I always wondered why they kept bring out a speed boat. RIP JIM

How can anyone dislike this 😡
.............funny as fuck, the only show where you would most definitely win a boat if you came from a landlocked county. WTF Jim?
"Aw, not that c*** Iain Lee narrating!"

Jim Bowen was great , miles better than the smarmy presenters these days, Bradly Walsh, armstrong , Osman, Rick Edwards and Nick knowles more too !!
Behave now. Bradley Walsh is a brilliant all rounder. Does the lot singing dancing acting and the chase.
Brads alright!
Why did they always put old grannies in the audience because they done what they were told sheep 🐑🐑🐑🐑😂😂😂😂😂
What's it called again when you deceive contestants about the prizes that have been on offer? Fraud?
