Presonus! Is there a touch screen that you guys would recommend for use with a Macbook Pro/ Macbook Air? I would like to use the multi-touch option for controlling an RM32ai, but I am not sure how to accomplish that with my Macbook! Thanks in advance!
Very nice 'down to earth' video. ? Is it possible to play digital music (mp3, wav, etc.) wirelessly through the mixer, from the tablet you are controlling it with; to play pre- concert music, or music tracks for vocalists, etc..? If not, how would you suggest, to accomplish it?
Having that Ability would be huge.... We do 5-6 songs every Sunday at church with tracks.... Having ableton tell the RM what the tempo is for delay and verb would make this the king of all kings for small church mixer/audio interfaces.
is there a reason why the software did not include a Mute all button on the main screen instead of having to navigate to the settings screen? is there a plan in the future to modify this feature without having to navigate to the settings screen?
When are the Option Cards set to come out?!? We've been hearing about them since the SLAI Desks were announced way-back-when, but have yet to see them.
It would be helpful to see a short video on how to use an RM strictly as a digital snake. For instance, how does the digital gain recall work on the RM when the Desk has analog gain? Looking forward to seeing how the AI product line develops over the next year or two!

Hey Kent-MIDI functionality will be added in a near future firmware update. While effect tempo sync isn't on the development roadmap, I've sent your comment to Ray, who seems to like the idea and will be looking into it. :)
Rick, we currently use a 24.4.2 StudioLive board positioned onstage next to the drum riser. We use about 20 inputs including 2 for in-ear click and FOH backing tracks. We use (6) in-ear monitor systems plugged into the AUX. For FOH, at some venues we bring powered mains and subs and run our own sound. At other venues, we DB25 out of the back into their snake and give them all channels. I'm very interested in the RM32AI, but I'm confused how to accomplish all the same because it doesn't appear to have the same Aux in section like the 24.4.2, and, the DB25 only appears to offer 16 out with another 16 out on the front... Would love details on how you have your band racked up because I'm looking for ways to reduce load in, set up, tear down and load out times.
The IO selection on the RM is not as vast as the console mixers. There are no auxiliary inputs and no direct outputs. Your click and playback tracks can come through on the inputs or digital return from FireWire depending on how you have it setup now. Since there are no direct outs you'd need an analog splitter to send a copy of each input to a FOH mixer. A lot of users have recommended the ART S8 3-way artproaudio.com/art_products/audio_solutions/splitters_patchbays/product/s8-3way/

Is there any way or possibility the samplerate will go up in the future? you know, 192kHz and more - because 96 kHz is nice, but it won´t be enough soon.

Nice answer :). I am asking, because I am mainly into recording live shows and this StudioLive Rack was offered to me as a solution. It is quite a investment financially and It would be nice to know if it actually can go up with the sample rate. If it can then it is even more attractive. If it can´t, I would have to still think quite a bit ... So can it go up in the sample rate? Thanks for the info. :)

PreSonus Audio Electronics Hi, I have another question. when recording in 96kHz, I heard that I will loose a lot of funcionality - only one reverb and one delay and, the main output will have no processing. Also u cannot use cascading. is that so?
PreSonus Audio Electronics does this mean I can go direct to Studio v3 @96K via FW800 to Mac ? "O.O" 32trks . Use aux out to send to an outboard proc xyz and bring in on another channel? What kind of latency? Have to admit I'm starting to drool a little here.
Hey Christopher, this could be possible in the future via an update. That said, it wouldn’t route differently than the front panel because they share the same signal from the DAC.
Why does sound from the fx sends bleed through the aux mixs even when every channel is turned all the way down. I can still hear the channels that I don't want to hear in my in ears. Does anyone know how I can solve this issue?

In general, look for something that doesn’t have a super glossy reflective surface and has a high brightness. Most monitors fall around 250-300 cd/m2. For bright outdoors gigs you may want to search for something more in the 400 or higher range. Hope that helps!
When are you planning to have the software for the RM up to the same level of "AI" as the rest of the AI line? For instance, when is the Capture2 interface going to be full AI with the RM mixers and support capturing the mixer's fat channel setup for each recorded channel and support Virtual Sound check fully without requiring the manual switch ing of every mixer channel from analog to digital (which is a very tedious process via UC Surface?) Second, the rest of the AI product line fully supports SMART; what is the expected release date for SMART capable UC Surface?

Cool. The RM16AI is actually a 32-channel mixer that has 16 mic inputs. You have an additional 16 channels at your command, so it would be great for making a custom monitor mix or for using drum triggers to play drum samples in Studio One via Impact. Enjoy!

I love the Filter DCA's and was wondering if there is a way to include VU meters on the faders in "group masters" view...this would make it easier to see the balance relationships between the groups.... Hey Anthony, good question. In order to provide meters on the filter DCAs we would have to calculate the sum of the channels in that group, which would take away DSP horse power from other critical tasks.
10 months later when will the Dante Cards be released. I've asked many times and get no answer to a product that was advertised 10 months ago to be upgraded to Dante
So we are having a terrible time with controlling the AI unit wirelessly and wired. So we have a new Wireless N router and iPad. But there is a terrible delay in adjusting the FOH and Mixes. Also using an HP60 for IEM and the users are also having this delay. We can turn the units off and on a few times and then we are able to get it working. But its certainly not seamless. Any help?

Hi,guys love the sound of this thing..that to me is the standout feature...And you have come up with some unique features for the software as well...couple of quick comments First it should be relatively easy to implement some larger colored labeling blocks to easily see what we are doing even add pics this would help everyone immensely.. at show time . Hello i purchased a presonus RM16AI last year after only two gigs of use it died on me. mixer won't power on there's no lights or anything it's just dead, i've been trying to get help with this issue but haven't been able get a hold of no one through the Presonus help line...i've tried hundreds of times without any luck...i really need help resolving this issue i previously own the presonus 16.4.2 and had many problems with it then i decided to get this new one thinking it would be much better but so far it's been nothing but head aches... i would really appreciate any help of where i could get it fixed. Has anybody ever had the same problem with this mixer and is it something i can fix or do i need to send it to presonus??

I love the fact that your hardware has wifi built in and thank you for the effort that you all put in to develop this for the Windows with touch. Can the app screen stretch to 1920 x 1080 or have a full screen mode beyond 1600 x 900?

I updated my board with the latest firmware. My laptop with the latest version of UC AI & downloaded UC surface on my ipad. Nothing about compatibility between Surface app & studiolive board is true.

So yeah.. I watched ton of video's en never heard the word 'interface'. Yeah I know recording is possible thru software and that you can send FX thru the computer back into the RM mixer... But I want to know it its possible to assign a channel from the RM to a channel (as input) to studio one thru firewire. So use it like a firestudio pro or firewire interface. This will save me soooo much money because I don't need to buy a ton of firestudio pro interfaces..

Hey Rayrray0, sorry, no. Just like traditional VCAs and DCAs on other digital mixers, they are a control group and not an actual mix bus. That said, we’ll be adding subgroup functionality in version 1.3 in Q2 that will allow Fat Channel processing on a group of channels. Thanks!

daniel brittle Check out the Audio-Technica AT2035. It's a great all-purpose mic for vocals and guitar and can handle high-volume vocals.
