Genuine q, In what situations would u hit a stinger opposed to a normal shot?
When it’s windy out and want to take out that variable. Or if the fairways are very dry and run fast. Ball will roll very far

In high winds/cross winds where a high driver shot with a lot of spin will get murdered by the wind, a long iron stinger takes the spin off it, it keeps it out of the wind and will get lots of run out. Also, it looks cool AF when you get it right, and women will want you.

Wrong, but okay.
I'd say the difference between a stinger and a low shot is the spin rate on it. His stingers tend to start lower and rise a bit because of the spin on the ball, usually as a result of the speed at impact. His knockdowns start a touch higher and spin less. But yeah every low shot is now a stinger i guess lol. I'm fine with that.

Not all of these are stingers, some are just low driving irons. The stingers are specifically the ones where the ball starts insanely low and flat and then gradually climbs.

@@mith2946 tiger hitting a stock 2 iron is not his stinger (although it is still a thing of beauty, nobody hits better long irons than tiger). His stinger is the low burner

The shot tracer line is trash. It looks like it was added to a bunch of these shots after the fact. Shot tracer on every swing wasn't even a thing for a good chunk of Tiger's career.

The way he did it in his prime was unlike anybody else. The amount of speed he put into those shots was the difference maker, so in a sense he did invent this shot. Nobody in the late 90's or early 2000's had this shot in the bag.

@@brendanfay9786 A low rising 2 iron that goes about 280?? Don't think anybody else had that shot. Like I said, lots were hitting knockdowns, but the speed was the differentiating factor.
