Even though Blue Streak was mostly inspired by the film "Big Job", I like to think that the first two Beverly Hills Cop movies served as some sort of inspiration for this film too.
Like you have a comedic star who plays a character that cons his way into a situation to service the plot, his best friend who is killed at the start of the movie, and he makes friends with two officers who follow him on this journey. (Like seriously, Martin Lawrence, Luke Wilson and William Forsythe give me Axel, Billy and Taggart vibes in this movie).
Overall, I too think Blue Streak is one of the best B movie entries of 90s action comedies. Despite it's unrealistic and cartoonish plot, it's still a blast to watch and all the more enjoyable with it's humor and eccentric characters.
Also fun fact: the '73 Ford Gran Torino from The Big Lebowski makes a cameo in this movie.

There certainly are a lot of BHC vibes in this movie for sure! That's a great fun fact! I love The Dude! I also read the script that supposed to be Blue Streak 2 was reworked and turned into Bad Company with Rock/Hopkins.
