By far, it is the best place I've ever been to for a large event. I'm 58 years old, and I've been to sporting events and concerts all over the United States. This stadium is awesome. We walked around the whole facility, and there's not a bad seat in the house.
As someone who lives in MN, I love that its here. Such a treat to visit if you appreciate architecture and ambience . As a 49ers fan though, I'm jealous my team out there is playing in an ok stadium at Levi's, but nothing I'm dying to visit like I did when Candlestick was still up (purely for the history of it, of course).
Real Talk... I was fortunate to attend the Vikings vs Colts football game last year. The stadium reminds me of the Mercedes Benz Stadium we have in Atlanta except for the roof. Great architecture !!!
@@marklangren3142 Nope, they used money from Electronic Pull-tabs and Hotel taxes. So if you don't gamble or stay in a hotel, you paid nothing towards the stadium.
@@marklangren3142they paid the state back for the tax money. That’s what he means when he says it’s paid off. The wilf family paid the state back for the 2 billion dollar loan 23 years early
@@marklangren3142 yea that’s how the world works, and there just about nothing you can do abt it. They gave us the best nfl stadium in the world, and at least we didn’t get another FedEx Field or something:
Interesting you mention Tottenham Hotspur Stadium - the firm that designed that stadium is the same firm that design the now being constructed Buffalo Bills Stadium using basically the identical design as Tottenham. I just see domed and these very expensive stadiums as a simply waste of money to play a game that originally was always played outdoors in the open air.
The “bird safe glass” was a PR campaign to address the environmental concerns with the design. It has been shown to not be effective at preventing bird collisions/death. There has already been studies done on the amount of bird deaths during the spring and they have people clean up the dead birds before events during bird migration months in spring and fall. There has been legislation proposed to make the massive windows actually bird safe.
Dislike for the AI and inaccurate information. As others have pointed out, this was not made with bird proof glass. Unsure why it was stated several times that it was made with it.
The stadium did NOT get bird safe glass while the video incorrectly asserts that it did. This is still an issue with the stadium as it sits in a major flyway for migrating birds and bird collisions and deaths still occur.
@@shawnanderson6313 no sir, you must be mentally ill. Yes, they had more than 1 way of getting the money and guess what. Tobacco taxes were a majority of it. Just do a quick google search..smh. I was also living in MN when they started hiking tobacco taxes and the reason was the new stadium. Back then there was a think called a newspaper that I would read every morning and there in words, gave a layout of who was contributing and the percentage. Tobacco had/has EVERYTHING to do with that pos stadium.
Do you realize how much economy this stadium brings to the cities? Jobs for people? Yearly concerts? And it's paid off. Do you think before you comment?
Where is this proven? Seriously, look it up. There has never been any definitive study that proves what you are saying. It’s just a line that billionaires use to sell to the public so they don’t have to use their own money to build these giant stadiums.
Vikings covered $477 million, state covered $348 million, and $150 million from a hospitality tax. The stadium was paid off 23 years earlier than forecasted. A simple google search would have saved you from embarrassing yourself

I once designed buildings and function was the key is good design - even the SuperDome in NO looks like a mushroom rather than a football stadium.

US Bank Stadium does not have bird safe glass. It was talked about, but they did not go with bird safe glass.
I do know They’ve changed the glass multiple times, but I don’t know specific details or if it made a difference
And it's paid off
WITH TAXPAYER DOLLARS
@marklangren3142 wilfs put up half the money for the stadium and we saved a crap ton in interest payments

Having been there with my disabled wife in a scooter, I can tell you that their accommodations are inconvenient at best.
Only thing that you forgot is they paid off U.S. Bank stadium 20 years ahead of schedule.
My top five favorite stadiums:
US Bank stadium
SoFi Stadium
Mercedes Benz Stadium
Los Angeles Memorial coliseum
Tottenham Hotspur Stadium

The overuse of "testament" makes me think it was written by ChatGPT. But with that aside, this stadium is at least top 5

This channel is wild…. A lot of the videos they put up are bullshit.
Horrific
This channel only has 5k followers! 🤯
Bird safe glass, lol nice try.
Ya’ll can thank the smokers of Minnesota for paying this off. Still, a new stadium and the Vikings still can’t make it through a playoff game.
Why? It was funded by Electronic Pull tabs and hospitality taxes.
@ maybe a small fraction is coming from hospitals but a majority of the money tax payers put up came from the tax increase on tobacco products.
@ No sir that is incorrect. It was covered EPull Tabs and Hospitality Taxes, nothing to do with Tobacco.

what a piece of junk in the middle of a beautiful city!
