    Haven't even watched 30 seconds yet but wanted to say that my monstera got her first fenestration! It's a decent sized hole. I'm so proud of her! 🤣 She's been living only with a grow light for about 6 weeks. Ok I'll watch the video now 😂

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  2 года назад

      That is so awesome....I'm still waiting for holes in mine. I'm beginning to wonder it's it's the monstera borsigiana

    • @MarisaAndChew
      @MarisaAndChew 2 года назад +1

      @@EverythingPlants well it's just her first fenestration at all but I also have no clue if it's borsigiana or not. I think this is her 9th leaf but she was 3 tiny leaves when I got her in spring. I don't know at what age ruffles come to tell us who they really are! I've tried looking it up online but it seems as though most ppl buy "large form" etc already established so that have no clue on actual plant age. I prefer to buy young plants as they don't seem to panic as much about the different conditions and I get to enjoy the process of them growing up!

      @@MarisaAndChewYou're so lucky! For some time it was near impossible to find a small monstera . Over a year, all I could find were large specimens in a minimum 2 gallon pot. Close to 2 years after I started looking, I finally spotted a smaller plant in a 6 inch pot (which I snagged of course) and already had 2 fenestrated leaves. They're all over the place now, but it's no joke, its very challenging to hold myself back from grabbing a small one. I agree that starting smaller is so much more satisfying!

    Looks great. You’ve got better lighting in your basement than I have in my house with huge windows. Lol. Granted, all my windows do have tint on them to reduce our energy bill. So, I have low light in every room. I did buy some wall sconces to hang over my plant areas. I just use GE grow bulbs in them. While still not bright light, my plants are loving them. All my Hoyas have new growth. My plant collection is small (under 50 plants). I started collecting back in February. It’s my therapy 😊

    I'd love to get the track light set someday. I waited a looong time before I finally decided to buy just the basic Soltech Vita bulb. I had been using the GE bulbs with good results so I just couldn't see spending the extra cash. THEN I finally saw one in person at a nursery and it was so gorgeous!!! Sounds silly to say that about a light but it just has a vibe that takes everything to the next level and enhances the beauty of the plants. Once the cashier told me it was a Soltech light I started to understand the price difference lol I put 2 Vita bulbs in 3 months ago and they are definitely better than the GE bulb. My Whale Fin put out pups. My Monstera Albo is growing fast and for the first time my Aglaonema Pictum Tricolor has an inflorescence!! (I can't remember, is it recommended to cut them off the plant?) For big plant enthusiasts, these bulbs are so worth it.

    • @EverythingPlants

    Oooh I love how that looks! The other lights were really taking away from the jungle vibe! I also love how at least on camera it looked like close to daylight bulbs colors. My plants are in the basement as well and I absolutely love the whiter lights as it feels like I've installed windows 🤣 and it makes it more inviting for me to want to be in!
    I think the only suggestion I have for soltech is that clear cord options would be awesome! As great as their cable management system is, having clear cords would hide them even more. Obviously that's purely a personal preference though and if someone wanted they could always get the paintable cord management covers and really hide things 🤷🏼‍♀️
    Has the high light on that pothos brought out more variegation or just bleached the plant? Just wondering BC everyone always says more light is more variegation on pothos and mine seem to not care at all but I haven't given that big of a swing.

  • @pjuk
    @pjuk 2 года назад +1

    As so many RUclipsrs promote Soltech I assume they are sent for free as they seem very pricey versus other grow light solutions. One track light is £202.00 here in the UK, so £808.00 for the 4 you've got, so around 937 dollars!!! Could get 40 other growlights for that. Premium brand so charge more, sure, but 10x more, no thanks.
    Lovely plants arrangement though, looks good.

    • @EverythingPlants
      @EverythingPlants  2 года назад +1

      Hey Peter! Yes, this light system was given to me to try out. Although I know this type of light is not for everyone for different reasons....cost being one of them. I would never recommend any product that I wouldn't spend my own money on. I try to make my videos with plant styling ideas and not so much a sale pitch, because that's the last thing I would to be known for. If you can create a similar setup for cheaper, then that is awesome as well. I did look at different track light systems that are out there where you could easily add grow bulbs into, but where it fell short was most of those needed to be hardwired in or looked super cheap and tacky. One of the major advantages with this one from soltech is they offer both a plug in and hardwired option.
      The goal for my studio was to eliminate as many of those other grow lights and I am so pleased with the results. Thanks so much for this comment and appreciate you taking time to watch my video!
