im not sure why but I LOVE the fact that you sketch on magenta-pink, it makes the drawing look very modern and adds a different concept of deepness to it
I’m currently saving up to buy this iPad around Christmas time. I’m a traditional artist but the university’s I want to apply to next year all started to demand that you have to have knowledge in both traditional and digital. So this actually may be really helpful to not feel totally lost :)
@@yoonbye6472 I just bought my ipad around 2 weeks ago and honestly it feels so natural? I've been drawing traditionally for 3 years on and off and the transition between traditional and digital with the ipad was pretty smooth. I've tried screen less tables and it's no where near as enjoyable as the ipad ( although I know you need time to get used to it)
Whenever I change my screen protector I like to try drawing on the plain glass screen for a minute before putting on the new one. Makes you really appreciate the matte finish lol.
I’ve gone from a Wacom pad to an iPad Pro and honestly, a couple of weeks of use (without a screen protector) and I got used to drawing on a glass screen :) I love it! It’s all about preference. Its not that you (some people commenting here) can’t get used to drawing on glass, maybe it’s impatience? I love the idea of the pencil making sound on my iPad but, I don’t know about wearing my nibs down just for that. It’s still a tough decision for me, should I get one or not... eek I don’t even need it really lol😅
I agree! The nibs are so spendy, its not like my wacom where I get enough for a lifetime when I pay for a pack. The only downside with my glass screen protector is hand drag for sure. Not as smooth a rub between it and skin. But I also hate wearing the gloves as its too slippery. I wonder if this sort of protector would help and make up for the price/nib wear.
Gosh I completely disagree. In my opinion I love the paperlike texture and I can't stand the sliding on glass feel that is prevalent at the moment. I am looking fora a way back but can't find one!
I got used to the glass, too. When I tried the Paperlike, the bubbles drove me nuts and I could almost swear it was grabbing dust from 3 rooms away...lol...I also found it to be more of a satin finish than a matte finish, and almost as slick as the bare screen. I wound up taking it off. IF I try another screen protector, it’ll probably be a glass one, as I’ve actually come to love the slickness of the glass, but like the thought of my screen being protected.

Juliette Blais no mistake on your part. OCD stands for "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder". My answer is no. I have the cheapest matte screen protector I could find here in Australia. I got a three pack of them for $10 AUD and they work great. I compared it with the branded version a friend has and could not tell the difference. I’m now very glad that I went cheaper because my iPad has a defect and is being replaced by Apple and the screen protector on it will be lost. Good thing I have two more!
One of the BIG cons about this screen protector is that it reduces the "quality" of the images you see. Because of the grain, the light doesn't go through the protector the same way it would through a "normal" screen protector. And I found it to reduce quite significantly the quality of the videos/image I would watch on my device. (and you get to see the "rainbow" effect as described in the video on the white pixels) The simplest way to explain it => I felt my iPad's screen got upgraded from SD to HD the day I removed that screen protector.
I recently bought one and I love it. I hated the glass on glass feel from before so I bought a PaperLike and it’s perfect because it doesn’t make too much noise and gives a nice matte feel. Edit: josh if you see this you should try and do a tutorial on eyes or hair.
It’s only about 38 dollars you’re paying for a high quality product. (Plus the company is in Germany) they have One day shipping Id say it’s worth it. I really like it from my personal use and would buy it again
Did I mention I own a bird I read many reviews on amazon that the paperlike texture removes itself really quickly I‘m debating to buy one (not necessarily this company) but I also use my tablet to watch movies and I also heard it sucks up colors what do you think does yours does this too?
Alice Misfit It really depends how you use it and how much you use it. Mine personally does not but I know amazon usually sells them in bundles. If you want to buy Paperlike I recommend you buy it from their website. My textures have not gone away nor has it sucked up the colors. I draw digitally So I suppose if you just push the pencil really hard down onto the iPad it might wear off but you would have to do this consistently and people shouldn’t have to push down very hard anyways. Even if you don’t draw paper like is still a good screen protector personally I have kind of sweaty hands so using this to zoom in and zoom out and other things make it a lot easier. I’ve never had mine suck up color But it would have be sucking up the color extremely to notice I guess that’s just me but mine has never done it. (Sorry for posting this at 2AM) In my opinion it’s a great product and worth expense. If you want to buy it right now I should tell you that International shipping isn’t available right now so not sure if you could get your package in a day if you choose to buy Paperlike. Hope this helped you!

Hi, I’m an architect using the iPad for sketches as of late. I saw loads of videos saying that paperlike will grind your Apple Pencil in couple of month. So beware it’s a 200$ waste not just 40$ as paperlike Thanks for your demo bro.
I’m not sure if he mentioned this but the paper like screen protector does wear out the Apple Pencil nib, so I got a silicone nib protector from aliexpress and Amazon.
I have a quick question. Does it affect the look of the brush strokes you put down? As in does it add an effect because of the grainy texture? Been lookong everywhere for an answer 😅 Loved the video 💜
So I had your video playing in the background as I was researching stuff on my iPad, I couldn’t help but notice how awesome your audio mixing was on your video, good job dude
I have a massive bubble in my screen that won’t go away and every time I see it I consider throwing my iPad at the wall because it annoyed the living room gravy out of me. I never do but I do consider it, lots of times. Thank goodness I’m getting a new screen protector on the 9th (my screen is also cracked due to my dogs jumping on my iPad) anyway, have a nice day/night!
Honestly I prefer a matte screen protector way more, because its not only amazing for drawing but it also just an amazing creen protector altogether with anti glare and anti fingerprint
Does this remove the hard quick sketch strokes friction? I design and I quickly sketch and currently feels like the glass slows the pen. Anyone noticed it?
"the glass slows the pen" -> i imagined the other way, there is too small friction on the screen, so thats why you need to have screen protectors like this.
This video was just randomly recommended as my next video, and I absolutely love your voice. I like asmr and I’m literally getting tingles while watching this, which, if that isn’t intention, WOW. >_>
I wish there was something more temporary. Like a cover that snapped over and you could take off. But, I guess dust would become an issue. I don’t have an iPad for drawing. That’s just something I’d do goofing around. So compromising my screen the other 98% of the time is no good.
There is! Moshi has something called the iVisor. It’s basically a removable matte screen protector. It attaches via magnets on the edges. You can even wash it with water
Wow great use of multitask never thought of that, and great art, love watching the time lapse. I actually got a Magnetic Removable Paperlike and its great, can take it off whenever not drawing and have my tempered protector underneath, much recommended
Hello Josh, nice review with a deep batman voice! Lol I got supershieldz from Amazon. As all other matte finish screen protectors it has a grainy look on it. But that’s the trade off about to give it matte finish i think. I noticed When i use an actual ruler and draw slowy straight Lines in both horizontal and vertical directions there is no problem but lines wobble while doing slow strokes in different angles like 20-30-45 degrees with a ruler. Can you confirm that with paperlike and with other screen protectors? Also in different apps as well. Thanks. I actually dont care about the pencil feel, drawing ability doesn’t come from the texute of paper itself. I care more about the oil and grease from hands effecting how pencil and hand glides on the screen, sometimes it gets sticky sometimes it gets super slippery. Also overall look of a darker image with all that finger marks on screen is very annoying.
SOME ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BUY THIS The texture of the screenprotector can make the nib of the pencil dull so I suggest buying extra nibs or getting those apple pencil cases with a cap
Guys I draw directly on the iPad display with no protector and the experience is nice.. Don't be trapped in the mindset that drawing on glass is so bad and you have to get a screen protector so you can be a better artist.. I honestly ordered one of these matte protectors (different brand) and never used it because for the time it took to deliver, I've already got used to drawing on glass and it feels nice
Great drawing! Appreciate your thoughts. I'm new to digital art and I have this (unfortunate?) pickiness on paper texture when I use traditional media. It has to offer just the right resistance to my pencils and be the right strength for the amount of pressure I apply when making a line, plus it also has to smudge lines just right. But I digress. I want a matte screen protector that will allow me to use the same techniques of controlled line and smudging that I do on regular paper. It seems like the premium cost for Paperlike might justify it, especially since it also doesn't affect color accuracy when applied. I'll check it out.
@@neutral3570 idk to me this sounds more like chalk on board than pencil on paper. I press light with pencil and never hear that sound even on textured cardstock. Cant stand chalk noise, it makes my teeth hurt.
am I the only one who likes the smooth glass feel. Like I'm weird cus when I do digital art I wanna know I'm doing digital art down to how it feels. It wears me out when it feels like paper but it's a screen.
I'm sure you aren't! To be honest, the only problem I have with the glass feel is the inconsistent sudden rubber feeling every now and then. If it was more consistent than I'd prefer it 100% of the time.
How about the pencil tip wear? I had a one ‘paper like’ screen protector (not the one in review, cheaper counterpart - Baseus I think) it ate 2 tips within couple of months (and I am not drawing that much)... wonder if the ‘original’ one has the same issues.

@@splicerbabe Sweet thanks!
The sound of the pencil drawing on the screen is so satisfying. And is that a pokeball sound effect at the beginning? ergo josh, I choose you ^^
You forgot to include ASMR in the title of this video.
Wow great use of multitask never thought of that, and great art, love watching the time lapse. I actually got a Magnetic Removable Paperlike and its great, can take it off whenever not drawing and have my tempered protector underneath, much recommended
woah that’s cool.
Is that how to train your dragon music in the background?!?!?!
THAT WAS SK SATISFYING WHEN U PEELED THE PROTECTOR OFF
I forgot what this video was about, I was just in awe with your drawing skills.
Hello Josh, nice review with a deep batman voice! Lol
I got supershieldz from Amazon.
SOME ADVICE FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO BUY THIS
The texture of the screenprotector can make the nib of the pencil dull so I suggest buying extra nibs or getting those apple pencil cases with a cap
1:07 I'll just put it here to enjoy the sound and feel satisfied
Awesome video! I would love a ASMR of you drawing on it!
Oml I like love your art coming from a young artist with no social media you are a big role model to me!
I'll check it out.
best ASMR videos about drawing on the internet!
When you close your eyesand listen carefully to the audio it’s like ASMR
This is the first video i see from your channel and i'm truely amazed by your skills
Hey Josh didn't finish the vid yet but just wonna say hi 😊
Edit: Finished, great review and nice drawing 😊
Thank you!
I’ve never paid so much attention to background music before but I enjoyed everything about this video.
From now on will you use this screen protector or the one you had before?
your voice makes me relaxed
I love your work. But that paperwork noise would drive me insane.
Can you not draw on paper?
@@neutral3570 idk to me this sounds more like chalk on board than pencil on paper. I press light with pencil and never hear that sound even on textured cardstock. Cant stand chalk noise, it makes my teeth hurt.
I clicked for the review, i stayed for the art xD subscribed bc of how honest u are in reviewing!
am I the only one who likes the smooth glass feel.
Yo what holly I'm so happy I'm not the only one loving his voice
How about the pencil tip wear? I had a one ‘paper like’ screen protector (not the one in review, cheaper counterpart - Baseus I think) it ate 2 tips within couple of months (and I am not drawing that much)... wonder if the ‘original’ one has the same issues.
I got 5 second into the video.. And already subscribing..such a soothing voice
