I cannot express how awesome this is! Low and behold how aweosme it might be for you and the boys! Mad respect and appreciate your service for your country! Greetings from Germany!
Great video Brent. I love the scene where the 3 planes in front are diving into the water and you are behind them. Something about everyone doing it together looks awesome!
Man, I love the Air Tractor. One of the few aircraft these days that aren't afraid of taking a beating. You can tell in this video the pilot was being gentle but the plane wanted *more*
Certs and ratings are the easy part - variety of experience is most difficult to get. Here's an interview with our chief pilot where he talks about qualifications and experience required to get a FireBoss seat. ruclips.net/video/doKfdJo8c4g/видео.html
It's a FireBoss, an Air Tractor 802 on special WipAire floats with a Hydromax gate. I've spent my career flying specialty aviation gigs around the world, but this is what I always wanted to do.
There’s good info at our website Dauntlessair.com - also here's an interview with our chief pilot where he talks about qualifications : ruclips.net/video/kSAi4Rn7HEs/видео.htmlsi=gFrLV3-9YPrtYWbG
@@brentvoris4399 This is a dream job for me in the long future, because I'm 17 and I have 35 more hours till I get my license. I plan on becoming a pipeline pilot for a bit, then this afterwards. How likely is it that I can do this? Should I give up?
We have contracts all over the US. Our Washington contracts have had FireBosses based in Omak, Deer Park, Richland, Yakima, Moses Lake, and The Dalles. I’ve mostly flown out of Moses Lake when I’ve been on contract in Washington.
We still have the smoker and use it frequently. It increases our visibility when the Air Attack is trying to spot us coming into the fire traffic area, and as an “I see you” when working in close proximity with other scoopers or helos. It’s also great for communicating our scoop lane intentions to watercraft among other things. We don’t necessarily carry flaps all the way to the fire - If they’re really short turns between the fire and the scoop they may never come fully up, but if it’s a matter of miles we’ll be flaps up as soon as we stop climbing.

Most badass job in civil aviation!
🎉🎉🎉🎉 200% agree
Man, those Air Tractors sure wear a lot of hats. What a versatile aircraft. (And the soundtrack is a nice walk down memory lane.)
Wow! Air Tractors used as water bombers .. how awesome is that! And Steppenwolf as the audio .. I was mesmerized!

My dream job, brother. Getting my instructor cert rn, hope to be there soon

I really, really love this video! Thank you for that and for what you do for the world!

Literaturelly most badass job in civil aviation lol man
Это лучшая работа в мире.
Imagine a fleet of a thousand of these. Dispatch a wing of a hundred to go tackle a fire. The dynamic suppression would be incredible
Currently at the K-State aviation school and its been my dream to retire in alaska, so this could be retirement job haha, looks so badass.
Bravo, Fireboss Mike.. Omak Attacker!
Thanks for Magic Carpet Ride😊
Nice wire deflection wire, smart idea, IMO.
Very cool! Can you short-list career steps/ratings required to be able to do this job? I assume: PPL, SEP, HPA, SEA and...?

That was epic
Damn that was awesome
Super video !!!
That vibe! Damn!
4 player coop mission completed
that looks like a blast.
Music: Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf.
I love it! How much water do you pick up?
We can carry 800 gallons in the hopper, but how much we take depends on lake elevation, temps, winds, obstacles, etc.
Thanks for you awesomeness ❤
All I'm going to say is: "DD"
I'm going to leave it right here.
cool formation flying
I want to fly the boss!
Pretty cool videos!
What planes are those? And how did you get into doing this line of work?

Лучшая работа в мире! Сколько денег получает пилот в месяц?
Hope these guys or gals are paid well for this what seems to be a very very dangerous job
I’d do it for free.
One just went down a month ago pilot did not survive. Poorly designed water tanks seem to plague these planes ☹️
Imagine a fleet of a thousand of these
Hell of a way to make a living !
I'm getting my pilots license and soon want to do exactly this! can you tell me everything I need to do to get this same job?

We are always looking for qualified pilots. You’ll get into a FireBoss if that’s your goal. Giving up is the only way to fail.
@@brentvoris4399 Awe, thank you! that's very reassuring
Where are you, Moses Lake? They have a bunch of 737 MAX planes.
We work out of Moses lake sometimes. Usually mid August until the end of September
@@brentvoris4399 Where are you based?
I've seen a couple Super Scoopers flying around Moses Lake.

Very cool.
Can't you get bigger planes that would carry more water, like a PBY or the new Japanese flying boats the US2?
Everything is a trade off. We deliver water to the fire much more economically than any other platform.
Did they just do the one pass?
We can split loads if needed, but usually the water source is close enough that spending the extra time is inefficient
1,500 H.P.!
1600 HP!!!! (And more in the yellow arc)
🤙🏼🤙🏼💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼
Do you still use your smoker? Man carrying flaps all the way out must be painful, floats must do some dammage to performance.

IL-2 Sturmovik :)))
Thought it was gonna be "School - Nirvana", but then it turned into "Magic Carpet Ride - Steppenwolf".
No offense but i feel like thousands of octocopter drones could put out fires much quicker
It would be even better with sexdeca-copter drones!! Half as many needed and twice as fast!!! You should totally do this!!!
@@brentvoris4399 I am sure my generation is working on it ;)
I'd rather hear the plane than that music. DNR.
Yeah - you’re not the only one who thinks that 😆 I like it the way it is though
What? The music is jammin.
