@@12wer3wer9 I get you but I disagree because at the end of the day it's such a good opportunity but to be fair she deserves to design an entire pack and not just a kit. Like, if you feel some kind of way, blame ea, I'm all for that and will fight with you. But I refuse to call her a hypocrite as besides if I were in her position I would have done the same thing. And these two things can co-exist at the same time.

This sucks. We don't need more community involved kits, we need community involvement in packs that matter and do something. Wish EA would release less "stuff" and focus on "substance" instead. This franchise is doomed if even the best game changer involves herself in EA's scammy kits now. She is a complete hypocrite for this. It's so sad because I hoped that they would involve her in anything meaningful for such a long time too! 😔
@@12wer3wer9 fair points. I do think they are trying to involve the community more on various aspects of the game but a lot of it has been simply aesthetics. Would love them to bring plumbella in again to work on developing lore, which we all know Jesse is super passionate about. However I don’t want to take away from any excitement or pride Jesse has in the work she’s done on this kit, though. You can tell that Jesse put a lot of thought into it and is really excited about it and we’re proud of her for that!

It did seem oddly stylish for EA but it all made sense when it turned out it was you. You did an amazing job.
Edit because also I think one of the things I love the most is just that the items all work so well together, but they'll also work really well individually as fun statement pieces I can add into like 90% of my builds. Literally spicing up our lives with this kit.
Ea has its own problems as all giant companies do but they've really been killing it since Snowy Escape. contacting and including big Sim RUclipsrs to help them make business decisions is such a good idea, not only because it shows EA/Maxis' appreciation towards their community but also because these Simmers know a *lot* about what the Sims Community wants, because they're a part of it too!
Choosing to have simmers build houses for packs, having someone like Jesse make an entire frickin' KIT of stuff, adding on top of that the Everyday Clutter kit (can't remember the exact name if that's not it) which is something people have wanted for years... they've come very far with reconnecting with their community, even with all the ups and down (cough cough wedding stories cough cough).
It makes me more hopeful about the next game, especially if they keep this model up of reaching out to actual Simmers and the actual community for ideas and things that are desired in game.
@@VergiI_Sparda don't forget that some stylists were incluted to do other packs, that carnival clothes kit and the korean clothes inspired kit. Plus we got that huge update were they collabed with modders and added some items and clothes for free. Love the way EA chose to go
Can I just thank you for making some items that actually fit my style, it's so hard to find cute pastel objects in the sims that are more adult, like it perfectly fits with my aesthetic, with that and High School year I can finally make a house that actually kinda looks like mine

They should do this more often and even hold contests where people can submit design ideas. Collating with the community is the best way to give them what they want.

@12wer3 wer She's really not. Kits aren't going anywhere no matter how much we fight it. As multiple creators have theorized, including Jesse, this was a way to get content out during COVID when they could not manage doing the big releases as regularly as they did prior. We've gotten major gameplay updates this year already that aren't pack exclusive and we're getting a whole new life state at the beginning of next year as a base game update. Things are moving forward. So making a kit with the sims team that IS very popular with the community and has a lot of things we've been looking for and being mindful of the things the community would want out of a kit *is* keeping us in mind. No one is forcing you to like it - not Jesse or even Kayla who are both critical of kits to a degree but are big enough to say they do like some when they hit the mark. Calling Jesse a hypocrite because you're mad she didn't do something else is a bit odd. It's a great kit with good content and I'm glad she was involved because an empty kit no one wants is the exact opposite of moving forward for EA. Being involved to make sure the community got something they'd like *was* good.
@@Megalohdon Kits exist because EA can get away with them, it's easy money for them. EA wasn't struggling in the pandemic just to stay afloat, gaming had a boom throughout. In their last earnings call they said it was the most profitable year in Sims history! 😅
If simmers reacted to kits like they did with my first pet's stuff, then EA wouldn't pull things like that! Plumbella is a hypocrite because she has a big platform and for years she has voiced her general disapproval for kits loudly. She said, that she wouldn't get any kit if she wasn't a game changer and didn't have to show us the stuff. She also said that she wished that they didn't exist and that EA would focus on more important things.
But now she has made 2 videos trying to convince her fans to buy this kit and has chosen to involve herself in the kit business so to speak. She is one of the most influential game changers and it would benefit simmers everywhere if she wouldn't actively support this scammy way for EA to get even more money! 😔
At least she could have pushed for a gameplay kit after the community has for YEARS now tried to get EA to change their approach to kits! There is huge disapproval for Kits on all platforms online. I don't get where you see the community wishing for more if this?! How much emptier can a kit even get? It already includes only a few bit of meaningless clutter and replicas of objects that already exist plentifully in the game. EA doesn't actively create anything "new" here. How many more Mirrors, Rugs and Beds that do the exact same thing, do we need in a game that doesn't even function right for many simmers online right now?
EA & the Sims isn't a struggling endeavor that needs to sell every little bit just to survive. But EA has done a good job to train us to expect so little work from them that it's acceptable to sell us as little as a few reskins of existing objects to deserve high praise. Wow 😒
@12wer3 wer I mean it's no surprise kits are also a money grabber, no one is saying they're not. Jesse and the community aren't either. But they came to be because they had to change the way they made things during the pandemic because it was impossible to maintain that level of production at home. The original intent shifted into a way to grab money which sucks. But no one is forcing anyone to buy them either and game changers are open when they say they don't think a kit is worth it. I'd like more gamplay kits - bust the dust was good in theory but buggy in practice. Making assets isn't as labor intensive as gameplay and I don't know that we'll see gameplay kits again going forward because of that. If we do it's few and far between.
Saying her participation in making a kit with the wants of the community in mind - specifically about assets that the game receives which kits offer - is hypocritical ignores the times that she has been vocal and advocated. The idea that you can't be critical of something while also doing things to make them better is not it. The major things we want, big gameplay things, aren't going to come in kits. If they do they'll be BAD and we know that and I don't think anyone *wants* that anymore. If we get gameplay in kits it'll be so minor it won't feel worth it.
EA isn't hurting fo money. The franchise isn't hurting either. No one is saying they are. But also it's important to remember it's going to be more profitable when more people are joining the community and buying content.
Jesse's biggest complaint about the lack of transparency with bug fixes was addressed with the Twitter account dedicated to just that. It's not like they aren't listening. The game is moving in a good direction and that takes time, but we've already seen how they listen to the community. Ragging on Jesse for doing this and trying to claim she wasn't thinking of us when she *clearl* was is disingenuous. And quite frankly I'm not sure why you're here if you feel she's not being honest about that.
@@12wer3wer9 it's $4 you're not being oppressed. It was a way to provide faster updated content with out being bundled in packs that might be impacted by global events. Don't buy the 1s you don't want and keep it chugging. its not an over-priced pay-to-play feature, it's not a lootbox. $4 is a fair price point because it's easier for a kid to ask their parents for $5 a month to get content on a console than than beg for $40 once a year during holidays or a birthday. They're trying to reach a younger audience. It's a corporation shifting to a younger audience to keep the franchise fresh and alive for longer and appeal to new audiences. If ya don't want it, move on but be classy and not throw dirt on Jesse's name. Yikes.
If we're going to throw EA under the bus for something than fir me it'd be the virtue signaling of LGBTQ+ community to rake in money but this isn't about that.

As a Wisconsin can I just say thank you so much for that cow chair! My favorite flavor of ice cream was mint chocolate chip and my daddy used to tell me brown cows who ate mint could give mint chocolate chip ice cream on a full moon but only in winter. He's been dead 20 years, I still miss him dearly & that chair is my everything!
I'm from WI and I was always told brown cows make chocolate milk. The mint icream is way more creative lol

I saw the teaser and had NO idea you made the kit. It’s absolutely gorgeous, that mirror must be one of my favourite objects in this game. This is how awesome this game is when truly passionate people work on it.
The way this style fits perfectly with Highschool Years, Tiny Living (in my opinion), City Living, maybe even Eco Lifestyle if you use the lighter wood swatches. I can’t wait to buy this kit

Honestly the swatches on this one are so diverse, could totally also mix in some of it with some of cottage living and romantic garden for a more like pastel fairy cottage vibes. Like the butterfly windows from cottage living and the bed and wallpaper from this one

Honestly I would absolutely say take my money if there are good kits that feature historical build/buy and CAS. I don't mean like 80s 90s but more like 1800s and early 1900s. I'm definitely one of those people who like to sometimes immerse my sims completely into a different time period, even though its pretty impossible when they have cell phones.
@@katy8605 Yeah definitely, I'm still waiting for an early 20th century pack 😔 Also, there's a mod that stops your sims from going on their phones all the times if you're interested - I'm doing the decades challenge atm and it's been really helpful
@@anya6955 Ooh hope your challenge is going well! I haven't done it but I sometimes look at posts of other people who do it. My thing is I have this one huge save file where I put in characters from books I've read and I try to have their living situation and hair/clothing as close to accurate as I can to the books by googling photos from those times. I need cc from a lot of different eras because I read a lot of different books.

Really? I love Plumbella but no ... this is what i called, i do a lot for money. Hate on me, but thats my opinion. Kit's are so much hated and she knows this and made content out of this hate and now this? This kit can be really good, but this is just bullshit.
Even if she dosn't make money from this, which is even dumber and i hope that this is not true. This way she brings EA so much money for a freaking kit. And she didn't even get a percentege of it. Yeah, this is EA for you. But i thought she was smater.
Love this for you! I use so many items from High School and this perfectly fits that. I think sometimes with kits (and many build/buy and clothing items just in general) is they don’t go with anything and I feel like an idiot for not knowing what to match something with. This kit so smoothly fits in with High School.

I’m so excited for this pack and that one of my favorite simmers made it, congratulations!! I get that you were sponsored but I think you should make money off the kit sales for your ideas/time/effort though you are absolutely wonderful and deserve to be paid for giving them the idea and helping them on something that will probably be making them a lot of money, and the fact that it came from you will be a reason a lot of people buy it. I know it’s not up to us but I think you deserve way more compensation than a sponsorship for what you did 💜💜💜

No wonder this pack looks so good and modern! I'm not generally a fan of pastels but when i saw the kit's screenshots I honestly wished I could buy it, especially with the bed (i love the swatches!!) the computer, the chairs, and the fizzy drink bin! Legit adds so much personality to a build 💕

I have been getting into building custom keyboards lately and seeing those beautiful keycap sets represented in-game (some of which look like they're based on irl sets i've seen!!!) is such a cool detail and makes me want to buy the pack so much more!
i know its a given that i like this kit because you made it but even when i remove myself from those feelings this kit is definitely the best thing the sims will be releasing for a while
