- Engineer and resident basher Jon San Paolo shows us the nuts and bolts of what to look for if you're new to basic drum maintenance after a session.

Shot, edited, masterminded by Jeff Perlman. Jeffperlmancreative.com.
I dunno where the EA crew's humor ends and Mr. Perlman's begins, but regardless: solid gold, multiple times per video. (The info in these is super valuable too, of course, but making it originally funny takes either extra effort or extra talent or both.)
These videos are getting funnier all the time, keep it up. Great video
That drum sound in the end...
I must note that you missed one extremely important thing. Play each component of the kit and make sure there's nothing sizzling or making any sort of sound caused by vibration or resonance. In my experience, if you have a very old kit, it could be anything, from a spring within a lug, loose brand badge to some random object in the kit's vicinity.
That's good advice. Thanks.
As a non-drummer engineer, this is invaluable info about the ~nuts and bolts~ of taking care of drums and hardware. Thanks!
"Our beloved Steve was beaten to death, mercilessly, by a transition-badge 16" Ludwig tom."
The editing on these videos is galaxy brain 50/10. Good work.
11:26 This caught me off guard. Gets funnier every time I watch it
Love you guys. The amount of detail here is insane. Also finally understood why the onesie. You guys are like some version of a mechanic with all the bolts and cables and metal and nuts around xD ❤️🤟
Electrical Audio: How To comprobar que este todo joyita
Loving the new vids, great work by the entire crew - and JSP your hair amazing.
Hey, it's America's top-striked-guy!
Dammit i thought u were gonna teach me how to actually hit the drums. The search continues
Jon! You look great!!! Glad to see you doing your thing, hope you've been well!
If you don't have a pliers and some ham-fisted gorilla has tighted your wing-nuts to the point were you can no longer loosen them by hand, you can clamp onto the wing-nut between two drumsticks to give you the leverage you need to undo them.
Ah yes. Good tip!
The end of the video is hilarious!!! - Thanks for those tips!
Love that 60's Acro (I got a 64').
I had to rewind to watch Steve fight the floor tom several times. 😂
Thanks guys, love these videos. You are always on point with your explanations :)
Love the editing style, funny but never over the board
Ok y'all got me fucked up throwing that hi-hat cymbal like that. It may be damaged but that's actually the best case scenario for a crack, it's easy to grind out the area around it to create a smoothed section. It may not sound 100% whole, but I've gotten a lot more mileage out of a bunch of cymbals by repairing cracks like that.
More videos! keep it up!
Did Steve win the fight with the Floortom? 😅 Yesterday, when I had my back on them, both Bassdrums attacked me from behind!
Bless you children
you can stop drill the cracked cymbal and put in loose rivets as a special effect
damn! JSP you're looking good :-)
❤
Nice
Fine
gd job
Wow
JSP!

the demeanor on this man says "please for the love of everything that is percussive, please heed all the advice in this video BEFORE coming into your EA recording session, because your shitty drums will not be smearing our quality standard."
It DOES creep, you guys.
See it there? Creeping?

What’s with the bizzare, like, virtue signal with the mask.
This video will surely be timeless now hahahha
We decided it was important to demonstrate that we are not anti-maskers. Not intended as a virtue signal, but whatever platform we have comes with some responsibility. There are already anti-maskers pouncing in the comments, as you can see.
@@ElectricalAudioOfficial that's f***ing cringe bro
@@ToneSherpa Hey Rob, cringe bro is a pretty cool nickname, we're going to start using it, thanks. We really hope you don't get covid. It's awful and people die from it. That's the reason people wear masks, they don't want other people to get sick and maybe die. By mocking that, you're giving off the impression you don't care if other people get sick and maybe die. That's probably not what you think, but that's how it comes off, cringe bro.
@@stevealbini402 Being a weird, virtue signalling, government bootlicker will never be cool or punk rock. Sry not sry. I sure am glad those drums didn't get Covid though.
It's like Mr Rogers taking his shoes off at the beginning of every episode. Not really necessary, but it still means something.
I subscribed just to unsubscribe why do you have to be wearing a mask you can't catch anything from a video if you didn't know
Why subscribe to unsubscribe? Animals are very peculiar
